As central as it gets! Located on Rue Tronchet in the 8th Arrondisement. Within 5 minutes walk in any direction of the flat, you'll come across 'Place de la Madeleine' (don't miss La Duree for their croissants and pastries!) the 'Opera of Paris', (don't miss a ballet!) and the department stores Gallerie Lafayette and Printemps (for all the French designers). The nearest metro is Madeleine, (line 8,12,14) or Havre Caumartin (line 3 or 9). Line 12 will take you straight to Saint Germain des Pres and line 9 will take you straight to the Eiffel tower. Line 3 will take you straight to the Marais. It could not get any easier!
When you walk into the apartment you enter a large 'entry' which gives way onto the big salon, with very high ceilings, beautiful wood floors throughout, and intricate ceiling moldings. The master bedroom has a double bed and a bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has 2 single beds with a bathroom with shower. The toilet (one in the apartment as is typical in France, is found in it's own separate little WC room at an easy location for everyone to access). The kitchen is fully equipped and has all necessary machines that you should need during your stay.
Internet (WiFi) is included as is TV, and a landline telephone should you need to make some restaurant reservations.
The apartment is located on the 2nd floor, (the equivalent of a US 3rd floor) with elevator.
A lovely apartment from which you can enjoy your quiet moments at home and also to be well located in order to get the most out of your stay in Paris.
The price is inclusive of everything, (including the cleaning at the completion of your stay).
Lastly, you'll be greeted personally by me (the person who you'll do all the email exchanging with ahead of time), and I'll of course give you a hand with your luggage with a great big smile. :-)
To request a booking, just fill out the VRBO form and it will automatically send me your request. I generally reply 80% of the time within 3 to 4 hours.
Originally from Massachusetts, I studied Finance in NYC and then found myself in Paris almost 6 years ago for a short while, which has, apparently, turned into a long while (since I never left!)
Owner/Property Manager purchased this apartment in 2007
The location and the high ceilings are what I most appreciate about this apartment. It also feels like a true Parisian apartment. It is very well laid-out, and doesn't have any wasted space. With that said, it's huge for a 2 bedroom at 100m2!
East facing, the sun shines in the flat in the morning. No need to worry about A/C (it doesn't exist in Paris anyway, but this flat stays nice and cool even in the peak of summer).
The apartment is in a perfect location. Very easy to travel around the city with several subway stops within walking distance. We felt very safe in this part of the city. There are several restaurants nearby. The apartment has a unique floor plan; very roomy, lovely high ceilings & typical Parisian windows that opened to view the neighborhood below. The morning sun shone beautifully through the living room windows. The apartment was adequately furnished & true to the photos. There is a beautiful spiral staircase & also a unique 2 person elevator. It was easy to get our luggage in & out of the apartment. Julie was pleasant to work with & extremely helpful in both the reservation & rental processes. A couple suggestions- 1) have more keys available for when the unexpected happens; 2) the rooms were a bit cluttered with non-necessary items.
My family stayed in this apartment during my work assignment in Paris. We found the apartment to be very clean and spacious. Having the full kitchen was also great for us to be able to make our own meals. It was very convenient being so central in Paris. Julie was excellent in helping us choose this apartment and we appreciated her help on the arrival day even though our plane was late. She was very responsive to our questions during our stay as well. We would definitely stay here again.
This apartment is in the very center of Paris, just on the north side of 'Madeleine' which is just north of Place de la Concorde. You are also very close to the department stores Gallerie Lafayette and Printemps and of course the Opera of Paris, all within walking distance !
