About Nick & Jill Lindsay
I am a semi retired farmer living in Northern Ireland, We have a large family, all of whom enjoy skiing and mountain life in general.
Nick & Jill Lindsay purchased this Chalet in 2007
Why Nick & Jill Lindsay chose Leysin
We came to Leysin to stay with friends, fell in love with the place and ended up building this chalet. We love the peace and quietness of our location at the bottom of the village. In summer we can enjoy our quite large garden and the fantastic walks and hikes in the mountains. Leysin has some of the most dramatic scenery I have seen anywhere in the Alps. We do most of our skiing in Diablerets and Villars, which are less than 15 minutes away by car and on the same lift pass as Leysin. Huge ski area and very rarely any queues. Leysin skiing is great but not as extensive as the Diablerets/Villars area.
What makes this Chalet unique
Modern, warm, comfortable chalet. Wonderful views, very quiet and peaceful. Brilliant for both summer and winter.

great chalet in a super location
We had a great stay. The chalet is lovely, looks better than the pictures. 5 adults and 3 kids and the chalet was comfortable. All the needed amenities are there. Owners are helpful and their instructions are good. Many nice hikes and places to visit in Leysin/Vaud in summer. Definitely recommended.
Many thanks for your review and so glad you enjoyed your stay. We totally agree that the photographs don't fully reflect the charm of the chalet and the incredible vista. It is very hard to reproduce that and photographs miss the sound of the cow bells completely!
A wonderful vacation in Leysin
My husband and I and our three children spent a wonderful time in Chalet Le Renard.
Nick was very communicative from the first inquiry to the end of the trip.
It is one of those places that raise the dilemma whether to just stay in the chalet since it is so cozy and specious or go explore out in the village/ the ski resort/ the mountains.
The Chalet is well equipped and very comfortable.
There are three bed room on the top flour,
perhaps the room with the bunk beds is better for younger children although my teenagers managed all right.
The view is spectacular and we were lucky to have three days of snow - which was very much appreciated.
There are a couple of restaurants and a supermarket within a walking distance.
We enjoyed cooking big meals as well.
We highly recommend it !
Winter break in Leysin
We loved the property - very comfortable and well provisioned with great views across the valley to Villars and the Rhone valley. The chalet is at the bottom end of Leysin but within easy walking distance from the centre (10 mins) and the telecabine (< 20 mins). A car is useful but not essential as there are lots of walks within easy reach. Would definitely recommend staying at this property if in the area.
we loved it here, the chalet was lovely, the views were amazing.
Amazing Chalet in a lovely village in the Swiss Alps.
My wife and I and our two children stayed here in summer in the beautiful alpine village of Leysin. We could not have wished for anything better. The Chalet was perfect for what we wanted and well equipped to keep the kids happy while my wife and I relaxed on the deck enjoying the view. Leysin is perfectly placed to explore much of what Switzerland has to offer. Great walking trails and hikes at your door step. Kids did not want to go home.
The buzz word of our stay was "wow". I think we all said it about 50 times each per day.
I would recommend it to anyone thinking about staying here.
Chalet Le Renard is situated on the edge of Leysin village, 1.5 hours by car from Geneva or 2 hours by train. It is reached by a romantic mountain railway connection from Aigle. Leysin is part of the Alpes de Vaud ski area that includes Villars, Les Diablerets, Glacier 3000 & Les Mosses. It is also only 45 mins from the Porte de Soleil ski area by car. Leysin has some of the most breathtaking views in the Alps and the summer activities are numerous, including walking, swimming, mountain biking, rock climbing etc. Leysin is famous for its revolving restaurant at Berneuse with incredible 360 degree views of lake Geneva and the southern Alps. Leysin has many good restaurants, many of which are within 5 minutes walking distance of Chalet Le Renard. Leysin boasts a huge skating arena which operates all year round, swimming pool, tennis courts and an amazing floodlit toboggan run in the winter. It is the complete holiday location for summer or winter.
