Welcome to the Adirondacks! Rent your home away from home at the 'Park Place and Boardwalk' of the Great Sacandaga Lake! Offers an amazing 200 feet of direct frontage! Located on a quiet dead-end street, not the busy main road! Only 30 minutes from Lake George and Saratoga. Approx 50 minutes north of Albany, NY, and 3 hours north of the NY/NJ state line.
My wife and I have vacationed in the Adirondack Region, mostly around Lake George, since we were children. When we were ready to buy our own camp, we chose the Great Sacandaga Lake because it was as large as Lake George, but much more quiet and less commercial. We love it here.
Chad purchased this cabin in 2010
We purchased our own home (across the street) many years ago, so it made sense to purchase and renovate this camp, being so close to our own home.
Direct lake frontage - no crossing busy roads to get to the lake! Dead end street, serene setting, great for children and pets!
We loved the lake view setting. The fire pit was a lot of fun. Fishing off the dock was picturesque. Great water pressure and hot water was appreciated. Kitchen very functional and overall place was clean and neat. We look forward to staying here again. Highly recommend you and your family staying if your looking for that "cabin in the woods" experience.
Alright so I've been renting this house for a few years now , I enjoyed it everytime for the first few years of staying here There used to be kayaks for us too use , there was a lot of kitchen supplies , it was much cleaner. But things suddenly went downhill for this place, there's a lot of things the owner should work on like fixing the grill - the grill temperature control broke so it stays very hot at a high temperature and burns what ur cooking , the second thing that needs to be fixed is the sitting area - there's so much space put more areas to sit in the living room there's only one couch. Thirdly , the owner should put back all the kitchen supplies like more pots and more utensils there's only like 2 pots - lastly , this place should be a little more cleaner the dishes were very greasy and the utensils were also greasy . (There should also be like a broom in this house too) this place suddenly just went down hill it started off so great and its just getting worse threw out the years. I'm not happy with this vacation house and I'm thinking of not returning please make changes to this house it's a small house with a lot of space use the space make it more comfortable for us visitors. Thankyou
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The dock was modern and looked very new and easily accommodated us. There was plenty of space for all of us (4 adults/2 kids) to fish, swim or just enjoy the views. The water is plenty deep at the end of the dock... we couldn't touch or see the bottom. There is a ladder on the dock to climb in and out of the water. The swim dock (as pictured) was not in the water but grounded on the property. Also pictured are a kayak and rowboat but they were not supplied which was disappointing to us as we were looking forward to fishing while exploring the lake. It is a steep and sometimes slippery climb up and down the hill to the fire pit and dock so you have to be careful. Some landscaping could help this out. The yard is in 3 levels: the house, the fire pit and the dock and it's definitely a bit of a workout if you have to make several trips back and forth carrying gear. The fire pit offered beautiful views of the lake and is plenty big. The house was exactly as described. Comfortable and accommodated the 6 of us easily. The bottom floor houses the kitchen, which is small but was big enough for our needs and anything you would need was supplied. Also a sleeper sofa, fireplace and tv. We brought a few camp chairs to add seating. We had a few rainy, chilly days and the in floor heating was perfect to warm us up. The is no cable but there is a DVD player. I brought my laptop after reading previous reviews and connected an HDMI cable from my computer to the TV and I streamed live TV and movies. The connection was a little spotty from time to time and had to re-boot the router once or twice but otherwise worked well for us. The washer/dryer was a great plus. Linens/towels are included but you'll need to bring washcloths and kitchen towels. We were able to park 3 cars but getting out is tricky because no room to turn around and the entrance is steep. So only 4 stars because I had to email the owner twice and call to get arrival instructions. I had to clean out trash in and around the fire pit when I arrived which was annoying (filled a whole trash bag) and the property was not mowed. I emailed the owner upon arrival to ask about the kayaks and dirty fire pit and never received a response back. Despite the few hiccups mentioned, we would return and with better communication, this would be 5 stars. This house is reasonably priced, location and views are awesome and the dock was the best on our side of the lake.
This is a beautiful cabin- all redone inside. Awesome dock - my kids loved jumping into the lake right from there. Bring water shoes if you plan to walk into the water. There is a public boat launch about 5 minutes away called Magestic Mountain that we used to launch our boat. There is a fire pit, and stone steps that lead to the water. The layout outside is a bit steep, so if you are elderly or have knee problems this might not be the place for you. However, for any normal able bodied person it's fine!! There is no cable there but the wifi seemed fine as long as only one person was using it at a time. There is a DVD player- we brought movies for nighttime. There is a great screened in porch where we played board games. This house is in a fairly remote spot. There is a small grocery store in Hadley- about 20 minutes away. The house is about 30 minutes from Saratoga Springs (we ate dinner downtown there one night) and 30 minutes away from the main drag of Lake George. The house was clean and has a washer and dryer which was handy! There is only one couch in the living room area- but it is a sleeper sofa so we just left it out all week and four of us layed on it to watch movies at night. I recommend you bring some lawn chairs if you like to sit outside. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook meals. There is a large grill with gas hooked up to it from the house. It is a very peaceful spot with nice views from the dock. Chad was very attentive also! Enjoy!!
Rented this cabin with 7 friends for memorial day weekend, and let's just say 7 is the max adult you can really have. If you have more kids than adults maybe you can have 8 total. The house looks clean but it really wasn't, guess they weren't ready for visitors as many things were broken or dirty. There wasn't much entertainment indoors since it rained on us for a whole day, luckily we brought some cards with us and of course wifi helped, but it;s very weak so streaming can block everyone else. kitchen was small and seating was upstairs on the screen porch, but not convenient. As my title say, you really is paying for the lake. The view is awesome, the dock was nice. It would be nicer if there was some kayaks, boats or life jackets for us to use. Also a paved stone walkway down to the fire pit and then to the water would be nice and safer as it's quite steep and when it's wet very slippery. Owner is aware of the issues we had in the cabin and is fixing the problem..
We had a great time! Everything was available that we needed. I was even more surprised to see the Kayaks and the row boat. I must have missed them in the picture. The guests and grandchildren had a great time too. I strongly recommend instant messaging via the internet as cell service is not good. I would also suggest another stairwell from the back patio area leading down to the fire pit. It is a bit slick early in the morning with the wet grass.
Less than 30 minutes to Lake George and Saratoga.
