Absolute Duke is a magnificent oceanfront home with amazing views and immaculate deck space. It is a large 4 level home centrally located in the middle of Pleasure Island. The majority of the furnishings for this home are constructed of Teak Wood and have been imported from Jakarta Indonesia. Maybe the best feature of the home is the huge OCEANFRONT deck. This deck is furnished with a picnic style table and benches as well as swings and rockers. A fantastic place to spend any part of your day!! This home speaks for itself and is a must see!

Spacious, but needs maintenance

This house was spacious and comfortable. Still, there was quite a bit of obvious deferred maintenance. The bolts on the porch are rusting and some of the beams supporting the second story porch are splitting. It seemed like all of the outdoor furniture had been left out all winter -- including four metal chairs around the outdoor dining table which were completely rusted. The house is a great size and was great for our group, but should be better maintained. Also, it would be great if one of the refrigerator had an ice maker.

Not liveable! !!!

Very nasty !!!! Open outlets with exposed wires, molded walls , NASTY carpet, broken tile everywhere, ac didn't work in 2 bedrooms , sliding glass doors broke on all balconies upstairs, looks like it has been foreclosed on and they are just trying to make some money on it while they can !!!

Alright Stay

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend with my youth group and for 30 of us, there was plenty of space. Although, the layout of the home is extremely weird. It seems as though two sunrooms where turned into bedrooms but have no storage and you are basically living out of your suitcase. As soon as you walk in the front door, there is a half bath. The large sleeping room upstairs, well, for 7 beds and one bathroom that wasn't thought out very well. But the home has a large kitchen and 3 balconies that all offer great views. Would I stay here again? With my youth group but I would not suggest this property to my family.

I am sorry that your stay was only of 2 star quality, but what I am most bothered by is the fact that you brought 30 people into a property that is advertised and equipped to accommodate 22. One of the challenges that we run in to with larger properties such as Absolut Duke is that people blatantly abuse the occupancy limits; creating undue stress, wear and tear on the property. The undue stress, wear and tear then creates additional preparation/maintenance and potential inconvenience for future guests. I am curious as to why you felt that bringing 8 "extra" people on your trip was OK.

The property is not what is advertised.This home is a 4 bedroom 3 bath house. Now it is true that there is a very dirty molded bathroom in the garage with no ventilation, this bathroom should not count. As for the two rooms on the main level that they call bedrooms they don't have closets, dressers or anywhere to put your clothes and one of them has an open fireplace so you can see straight in from the living room so these are rooms that they have stuck beds in. There are no mirrors anywhere except the bathrooms.Yes the house has two refrigerators, but note there is no ice maker at all and the refrigerator in the pantry you have to really push to close the doors. Also do not plan to cook for a large group not many pots and pans even though the realty company did bring us some frying pans. In the master bedroom water leaked in and there were places on wall where it had leaked before. Also, no water pressure in the master it was like trying to shower using a graden hose. There is a nice skylight in the master the only problem is there is no way to block the light if you don't want to get up with the sun. There were ants everywhere and even in the beds and for the two rooms with beds in them ants got in clothes. In master bedrooms the mattress was stained. The carpet through out the upper part of the house was nasty, stained and unacceptable. This could be an awesome house if it where taken care of I have been coming to carolina beach for 30 years and have never been so disappointed considering what we paid. This is just not right. I would use the realty company again but would NEVER SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY FOR THIS HOUSE.
