This building was given to us by our mother, who received it from her mother many years ago. We retrofitted it and it is just beautiful. We know our Grandmother is smiling from heaven!
Marc and Mike La Maina purchased this apartment in 1901
Centrally located and charming 20th century apartment. Spacious and luxurious.
Perfect location and size for a weekend getaway. We were a group of 9 girls that were in town for a wine tour. The apt is right above a restaurant so the only downside would be the noise late at night. It didn't really bother us but if you're looking to get some sleep don't stay here.
Me and my friends stay at the apartment was very nice. We had very good time at the apartment. It is centrally located to everything. So it is easy access to all the shops, restaurants, train station and all the attractions. The apartment itself was clean and had all the necessary amenities. It is above a restaurant so the music from downstairs does get loud, but it did not bother us. The only complaints we had was that the Wifi was down the whole weekend and they need to make sure that the garbage of the restaurant is not lying outside the entrance of the apartment door.
There was a group of us in town for a wedding and this property worked perfectly for our needs. Clean, centrally located and plenty of space to sleep. That being said realize you are on main street and staying above a bar - it does get loud at night so if you are looking for a quiet get away this is probably not the property for you. We had a great time staying here.
We stayed at this apartment for a bachelorette party and it ended up working fine- it's in the perfect location, easy access to the bars and nightlife which is what we were looking for. The apartment is big 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, slept 8 every comfortably. the owners of the property were easy to get a hold of while we were there and very accommodating. Ahead of our stay they answered all our questions and were extremely helpful.
Our biggest issue is that the apartment was unkempt and dirty- the bath towels had make-up stains on them, the kitchen floor was sticky, the refrigerator leaked the entire stay, the bathrooms had hair on the walls; there were even leftover decorations from the last guests who stayed here all over the apartment. We are required to pay for a cleaning service but I honestly do not think it was cleaned before we checked in.
If you decide to stay here I would suggest bringing your own towels, and cleaning supplies. Windex and paper towels were nowhere to be found in the apartment and the drawers and cabinets were completely unorganized. (example- the extra garbage bags were in a bedroom closet, not under the sink where you would think they should be. Took us 15 minutes to locate one)
Lastly, I was really disappointed when we first walked into the rental- the stairs leading up to the rooms were so gross- We were completely skeeved out. It really doesn't take much to clean out that hallway once and awhile. Cleanliness is important in a rental like this.
This loft is spacious and really cool! There are many rooms so we never felt cramped. There is a beautiful view of the water from the kitchen and tons of windows. It is within walking distance from everything including Claudio's, The Frisky Oyster, and all the shops. We parked our car Friday and didn't drive again until Sunday. The owners are very down to Earth and responded to questions quickly while we were there. It is definitely a great place for a bachelorette or bachelor party! I would definitely recommend this space if you're looking for a fun time!
Great apartment - clean, new kitchen, lots of space, well-maintained, and an ideal location in heart of Greenport.
Mike was super easy to work with, and even hooked us up with some awesome Mexican food from downstairs. I was here with a bunch of girlfriends, and we were out and about during the day/night. We saw the reviews of the music downstairs (yes, it's definitely true), but if you're coming to Greenport to have a good time and looking to stay out late at night, it's all good. You could even easily head downstairs and take part in the music/fun.
Highy recommend for friends getaway...
