2 Bedrm, 2 Bath home in quiet setting minutes from MassanuttenResort activities
About Louise Ward
Massanutten Village was my home for about 10 years. I had visited the ski resort & homeowners here, & then rented a house before buying this house. I already knew that I liked the convenience & quiet of the area, & the fact that it has a lot of trees & the houses do not look alike. I moved to Lexington VA (about 1 hour away) to start a cafe, but I come back every week to visit family in the area & to check on the house. I have left antiques, art, live plants and personal touches in the house to retain a warm & homey atmosphere for my guests. I do all changeovers myself so that I can ensure that the house is clean & welcoming for each guest's stay.
Why Louise Ward chose McGaheysville
Massanutten village is a quiet residential neighborhood within the resort at the base of the mountain. As a skier I had visited the resort, & then rented in the village for a couple of years. I was delighted to find an unusual house for sale here, & have been glad that I bought in this location. It is conveniently located at the bottom of the mountain, and it is so quiet & relaxing that it is hard to believe the resort's many amenities are only 5 minutes away.
What makes this House unique
This house appealed to me from the beginning. It is open-concept, & has a lot of natural light because of skylights & high windows. Plants thrive inside, & the house has the look & feel of both a beach house & a mountain get-away. I have decorated it to enhance that feeling. The back yard is wooded, with no houses behind, & I often see deer.

Lovely, safe neighborhood!
Very nice location. Loved watching the deer in the neighborhood. We had family reunion and were close to activities. Louise was very helpful and accessible. Probably my fault but assumed each of two bathrooms had a shower. Everyone staying in the house had to shower in one bathroom as the second bathroom had only a tub. The closets and cupboards were full of stuff so that there was not much room for us to put our things. House could definitely use some updating of bedding and towels. Liked having downstairs bedroom. We also enjoyed the deck
We loved the neighborhood/location of this property. Being in the Massanutten Resort area is a huge plus. The back deck area is very large, although we found ourselves gravitating to the front porch every morning and enjoying watching the deer roam the neighborhood. The upstairs master bedroom has plenty of space. The bathroom upstairs would be more user friendly if a shower was added to the tub, and remove the "netting" above. We made great use of the dining room in the evenings. It was nice to have both living room & dining room area for visiting and relaxing.
Quaint stay in the woods
Comfortable and met our needs for the weekend. Conveniently located and very quiet.
We enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed our stay in this house. Clean, organized and very good location for the resort. We enjoyed the high ceiling, spacious and homey feel of the house. Louise is very detailed and made sure we get our directions right. We are planning to go back!
The owner was very warm and kind and spend 30 minutes on the phone letting me know all the things I needed possible to make my vacation the best experience. The nieghborhood was very peaceful and it was a 3 minute drive through a scenic experience to the resort. Had a blast at the water park and the temperature in the house is better than your own home because of a new instsallation. The house was very clean and if you are on vacation you shouldnt be on wifi anyway which made the place perfect because they had dvd's and a very great home experience. The owner was very flexible with our dog and and I definitely will be coming back here if ever in the area again. Great trip!
Adorable little place to stay!!
We had a very enjoyable time in this home. It had everything we needed! We all found the beds to be very comfortable. That is very important, I feel, when you are staying away from home. The layout was very unique. Usually, the places I have visited have very similar floor plans. You will just have to see it for yourself. Also, the front of the house was like a quiet, little neighborhood. You venture to the back of the home, and your are instantly in a wooded paradise. Each morning the deer came to visit! If I return to Massanutten, I would definitely stay here again!!!!
