Wonderful winter getaway at Breezy Hill!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I recently were looking to spend Christmas somewhere in the country, not to far from the city, and somewhere that had alot of activities nearby. We found the perfect spot, a small quaint town in NY on the Massachusetts border, called Hillsdale. After my girlfriend spent a few days searching, she found an amazing manor called Breezy Hill. BH is actually 2 houses connected by a long hallway. The main house is beautifully appointed with a great balance of historic New England charm and modern functionality. The attached house has a grand library slash den, which is very cozy. If the house had'nt already impressed us, we lastly stumbled upon the indoor pool "wow". BH is prominently positioned looking over the Hudson Valley and into the Catskill mountains, and on the other side is the ski area Catamount. Catamount is a very charming ski area with an array of terrain from begginer to advanced. Its also known as a summer destination with zip lines and alot more family activities. Besides skiing and relaxing in this beautifully appointed manor, we spent a lot of time in the town of Great Barrington Massachusetts, only a 10 minute drive. GB is a very eclectic town full of great restaurants, art galleries, historic buildings, hiking trails, and even a cheesemonger established in an old bank. The highlight of our stay was waking up to a white Christmas in this cozy house. We started a fire, had some coffee and stared out at the endless views. We spent the day skiing and ended the night with a bottle of wine at a great farm to table restaurant only 5 minutes away. Well if you can't tell we had a wonderfully romantic stay and will definitely be back again. Next time with another couple, so we can share this great experience. E.E.

Amazing Property.Breathtaking View. Total Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We spent a couple of nights at this amazing property. It is super spacious and airy. Everyone was totally comfortable feeling like they had their own sections of the house and then we could all come together in the common areas which include several living room/lounge areas, a formal dining room, kitchen and a library. There is an indoor swimming pool. We spent just as much time outside of the house as we did inside. The view is picturesque especially when the leaves are changing. The home appears formal with top of the line appliances and fixtures but, once we got settled in it was totally cozy and chill. We loved how the breeze flowed through the house when we had the doors and windows open. Great Barrington is a great town. We went shopping, did some antiquing and checked out the ski resort with hopes of coming back in the winter.
