?-- but we don't think you'll miss it :)
I first visited Bisbee in 2000 from New York City. It is an immensely charming place. I visited often and in 2010 I answered its call moved to this part of Arizona.
Everyone has a story as to how they got here. Most are quite amazing. If you get a chance to strike up a conversation with one of the 'locals' ask 'em,--you may learn something and at least you will be very entertained!
Ed Rosko purchased this cottage in 2012
This is an amazing property. Built by an artist, first, as her studio and with an addition of a sleeping loft in 2008, it became her home. The house has very unique spaces, an incredible view from the wall of windows that open to a small deck.
The area the home sits in is actually carved out of the stone and mountain that surround the house.
When I purchased the property I told the previous owner that in my eyes the home is a piece of art all by itself. She said. 'You get it..you understand this house!'
So, if you enjoy the beauty in architecture, nature and art (the house is full of it), you will enjoy your stay at the BLUE HOUSE!
Deck that overlooks the town. Close to everything, yet secluded too. New furnishings through out. Art, books, vintage vinyl and record player.
We really enjoyed our stay at Bluehouse. The walk to downtown was shorter than we thought it would be, and we liked staying in a different part of town than we have on previous visits. The house is very comfortable and is filled with great, original art. We loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings and evenings. Having High Desert Market right down the street was a plus for starting the day out right. Communication with the owner was fast and easy. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends.
We really enjoyed this place. Very accommodating, I would recommend this to anyone going to Bisbee.
Really enjoyed everything about it--location was 350 feet from where I was working (courthouse), about 50 feet from a cool deli/restaurant, and a 7-minute walk to downtown Old Bisbee. House was small, but fine for the two of us, clean and with everything one might need.....Vinyl records (Ray Charles, Glen Campbell, etc.) was a "hit" with us....
We absolutely loved this humble abode. We enjoyed waking up on the morning & having coffee on the deck while chatting with the morning walkers. In the evening we would enjoy adult beverages while chatting with the evening walkers. A super friendly town & this home is centrally located. Definitely not for anyone who has problems climbing stairs, other than that a perfect get away cozy home away from home.
As others have shared, the "Blue House" served as a delightful & charming spot for a weekend get-away to Bisbee, AZ. Ed's correspondence prior to our arrival was superb w/directions & entry instructions to house. Having a dedicated parking spot was a bonus. The accommodations were nice, an open floor plan, clean, and fit the 2 of us perfectly. The balcony was a fun & relaxing place to enjoy the surrounding views. The "Blue House" is easy walking distance to the center of town, in a fairly quiet locale, with good places to eat & drink nearby. Bisbee has a rich AZ history, fueled by its inseparable ties to the mining industry. A must-do activity is the Copper Queen Mine Tour - very close by. We also enjoyed the Old Bisbee Ghost Tour, had a really nice meal at Cafe Roka, and enjoyed quaint breakfasts at the nearby High Desert Market and Ana's Seasonal Kitchen - yum. All in all, two thumbs up, would recommend this place to others!
My wife and I spent my birthday weekend at the Blue House in Bisbee. It's a very short walk up the hill from the main street, the shopping was great and we had some very nice meals in town. The High Desert Market is right at the bottom of the hill, where we had a delicious breakfast with fresh baked muffins and huge scones. They also have a nice selection of wines and gourmet cheeses.
Had another great breakfast at the Bisbee Breakfast Club and an even better dinner at Roka. I even picked up a custom made Panama hat at Optimo hat works. Finally a hat that fits my big head!
Did the tourist thing at Tombstone just to see what it was all about. Great historical architecture and we didn't mind forking over money to support the local tourism economy.
All in all we had a great time at the Blue House in Bisbee. Very peaceful and cozy, with a fun selection of vintage albums for the record player.
Location, location, location! The BLUE HOUSE has one of the best locations in town. Close to all of the fun attractions but secluded enough to offer relaxation at the end of the day.
High Desert Market is a short walk from your door. They offer amazing meals, gourmet cheese, fresh vegetabes and fruits, wine, beer and awesome smoothies!
Screaming Banshee Pizza is also a local favorite and is ideal for brickoven pies and a late drink.
Shopping, restaurants, art, music and theater venues are a short walk from the BLUE HOUSE. If you're looking to learn a little more about Bisbee, museums and guided tours are available too!
Bisbee is a very active town, events happen almost every weekend. Posters announcing what's new can be found all over the city or check the visitor's center downtown. Explorers welcome!
