About the property

3 bed/2.5 bath, renovated home. New dates just opened in August!

New Listing! Recently remodeled with all new bathrooms and kitchen, and newly outfitted with all new furniture and mattresses.

Our house is nestled amongst the pine trees, providing peace and solitude, and abuts a wildlife sanctuary, with a private path leading to 40th Pole Beach, one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches on Nantucket.

The house is 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 1740 square feet, with open concept floor plan, including living room with vaulted ceiling.

The first floor bedroom has a new Queen Size bed and renovated en suite bathroom. The second floor bedrooms include a new King Size bed in one room, and a bunkbed and queen in the other.

A new 50" 4K flat screen TV with cable, showtime, netflix, amazon prime, and video games, Wi-Fi/internet, a fully stocked renovated kitchen with Le Creuset pots/pans, dishwasher, washer/dryer, deck with grill, and outdoor shower, complete the offering.

As Gallie C, a guest from this past season wrote in a review on another site (she didn't book through homeaway):

"This is a fabulous house and location! My family and I have rented and stayed here before in the main house. Perfect location and amenities! Our family's most memorable stay while on Ack! The children loved biking in the safe neighborhood, we explored all the paths to the beach and the house was lovely. Private and away from the hustle and bustle of town yet perfect location to scoot right in for shopping and dining. We would definitely rent again and recommend!"

This property comes with rights to use the Fishers Landing Association tennis courts and basketball half-court.

Nearby Madaket Harbor and Eel Point are perfect for boating, sailing, or fishing. And be sure to visit Scallop Beach (scallops and seagulls abound). The sunsets at Madaket Beach are spectacular and in the summer, the Madaket Beach parking lot fills quickly, but it's a 15 minute walk through back roads so you can enjoy the sunsets and avoid the traffic.

Close proximity to 40th Pole Beach, Madaket Beach, the bike path, shuttle stop, Millie's restaurant, Smith's Point, and famous west end sunsets! And with town Historic District and the modern Stop & Shop about 4 miles away, you'll be close to shopping or dining out in world-class restaurants.

What really makes this property special is the location - during the summer, if you're not in the mood to deal with crowds, you don't have to. Start the week by loading up on supplies at Stop and Shop, the local butcher, the local fishmonger and/or Bartlett Farms. You can then cook at home, walk straight to a quiet beach during the day, and hang out on the deck watching the pitch black starry sky at night.

This property may be booked together with its 2 br/2 ba cottage (HA 4746520) at a discount. Pets are considered in the cottage only.

About Mike Langlois

Twenty-five years ago, I first traveled to Nantucket, aka the Grey Lady. I fell in love with her and was able to make a dream come true this year by buying a very special home on the island. I hope you'll be my guest and fall in love too!

Mike Langlois purchased this house in 2017

Why Mike Langlois chose Eel Point

Just out of graduate school, I worked on Nantucket and rented a small cottage in Fishers Landing. I loved that it was quiet and off the beaten path, and I loved even more that Fishers Landing bordered the Linda Loring Nature Preserve with a private path from my cottage to 40th Pole Beach, my favorite beach on Nantucket which was mostly known just to locals.

Every day I would take a stroll through the moors and then spend time on the ocean, seeing few people during my walk. It was relaxing, beautiful and how Nantucket was meant to be appreciated, away from the all the summer crowds.

My partner and I are blessed to finally have the opportunity to own our own home, and we have designed it to be the retreat we always dreamed of. Having stayed in many summer rentals through the years (and suffered in some of them), we've made our home(s) into the properties we wished we could have found ourselves - clean, fresh, open, relaxing with comfort and convenience in mind.

We look forward to sharing our home with you so you may enjoy the benefits (and secrets) of Fishers Landing, Linda Loring Nature Preserve and 40th Pole Beach, and of course a nice walk or very short drive to enjoy the Madaket sunsets.

What makes this house unique

Our home is 2 houses down from the entry to the private beach path through the moors of Linda Loring Nature Preserve. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach. If you prefer to drive, you can reach the beach with a 4-wheel-drive car by driving along a sandy, hilly road, but note there are no facilities and just a few parking spots.

40th Pole Beach is about a half mile west of the famous Dionis Beach (which has a paved road, parking and restrooms.) As a result, you'll find most people go there, not realizing an equally beautiful beach is nearby.

Fishers Landing is surrounded by tall pine trees so at night, you hear the gentle breeze whooshing through the branches along with the sound of ocean waves. It is serenity at its finest. You'll also likely see many deer and bunnies that make the nature preserve their home.

We are also close to Madaket Beach if you'd like to view the best sunsets on the island.

The bike path connect to Fisher's Landing, and there is a shuttle stop too.

The house includes access to two tennis courts, a basketball half-court and other amenities.
