|Minimum Stay||2 - 7 nights|
The apartment has two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large lounge and a dining kitchen with a small balcony. The dining kitchen has a gas 'wood-burner effect' fire. The lounge has a TV, DVD and stereo/radio/cassette/CD and a bed settee which sleeps two. The well equipped oak kitchen has a turret with a dining area with sea views. The kitchen is equipped with a range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, American fridge- freezer with plumbed-in ice and water. The first bedroom has a king size bed with a put up bed for further accommodation. The second bedroom has a small double and a single bed giving very flexible accommodation for six people. There is a shower room with a walk in power shower and a bathroom, both with toilets. There is a parking space allocated to the apartment. Due to popular demand, we now have wifi.
Very nice apartment, had everything we needed (very unusual ). Love the location, being able to walk everywhere a bonus. Visited Robin hoods bay + runswick bay. Walked to sandsend along beach.
Good coffee at moon and sixpence. Best crab sandwich pub in Robin hoods bay next to slipway (no shell) best grilled fish magpie cafe.
Best place for breakfast sitting in the turret window in the sunshine. Would recommend a stay at whitby in the turret retreat to everyone
We had the pleasure to stay here on the 18th and 19th November 2016 and I was greatly impressed. The central living areas are huge and the accommodation easily slept 6 adults. I would highly recommend this apartment and will be aiming to book it again.
We loved staying in the turret retreat and had a wonderful time there. The location is excellent and it is very handy to have a parking space in Whitby. We found the place clean and well organized and were welcomed with fresh milk and bread! Two small downsides: dryer didn't work and washing machine sometimes didn't complete the rinse cycle. Also, no wifi as stated and no open wifi networks nearby. Thankfully Cranberry swamp in town was fabulous for fast wifi, as well as gluten-free food! We read more books and watched movies without wifi anyway. There are some DVDs in the flat and it is easy to pick up used DVDs from the charity shops in town. Anyway, we had a great time and the turret retreat lived up to its description. If we come back to Whitby we would stay here again and recommend to others. Thanks!
The Turret Retreat had everything we needed for our weekend break in Whitby. The apartment was clean, very spacious and well equipped. The location was ideal for exploring the town and visiting the abbey and harbour areas . We didn't need to use the car at all after we arrived.
We had a fabulous stay at the Turret Retreat. The description was very accurate, and the owner has thought of everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The kitchen and utensils were fabulous, and she had even left milk, bread, butter etc which was an excellent start to our stay. The location is great, within easy walking distance of all Whitby has to offer. We have been numerous times before but always stayed in a hotel. The flexibility of saying in an apartment was great, it was like home from home and you could just sit and relax after a long walk. We will definitely be booking again.
Turret Retreat was an ideal base for our party of two couples, (with a brief visit from a third). It is within easy walking distance of all the attractions and everything else we needed in the town. We quickly felt comfortable and 'at home' in the property and particularly liked the large kitchen and the turret dining area.. As well as a generous welcome pack of bread, milk, juice, tea-bags etc. there were many of the basic necessities left in the cupboards which made self-catering much simpler. The owners were very helpful and prompt in replying to our queries. Knowing how difficult it can be to park in Whitby we particularly wanted a property with a car parking space and the owners kindly provided us with daily car parking permits for our second car, which we greatly appreciated. Having two bathrooms was also very convenient. There are some excellent guide books and maps provided as well as a selection of games DVDs etc. for rainy days, though we were extremely lucky with the weather and were out and about most of the time. All of us would happily come back to this apartment in future and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a self-catering holiday in Whitby.
On the west side of Whitby in a quieter location, the first floor apartment is 5 minutes walk from the cliff top and beach. Whitby pavilion is close by and the municipal swimming pool is in walking distance. The harbour and attractions are 10 minutes away. Shops and local transport are nearby. Whitby is dominated by the cliff-top ruins of the beautiful 13th century Whitby Abbey. This traditional maritime town, with its old cobbled streets, picturesque houses and sandy blue flag beach is a great place for a holiday or short break, Whitby is set among fine stretches of coast with spectacular cliffs, beaches and bays. Whitby is famous for its sea food, Captain Cook and Dracula.
