Unit #254 is a 2nd floor, corner, DIRECT OCEAN FRONT gem at the Islander complex. The corner location provides for an extra amazing view of the Pacific both inside the unit and on the lanai looking out! Get lost in the sounds of the surf in this direct ocean front to get any closer to the water!

The unit is part of the beach front complex, Islander on the Beach, located in Kapa'a, Kauai. They are located on six lushly landscaped oceanfront acres. Each condo features a balcony/lanai where you can enjoy beautiful sunrises and complete or partial ocean views and are only a few strides away from a private beach.

Soak up the sun in the ocean-side pool, or relax in the Jacuzzi while sipping a Mai Tai from the poolside Tiki Hut bar. There are also gas BBQ grills by the pool free to use as well as an Activities Desk in the lobby to plan excursions and such.

Centrally located in the town of Kapa'a, you are 30 miles from both the north and south shores. The enchanting Wailua River and Fern Grotto are less than two miles from the complex where you can boat, hike, and/or kayak. You are also less than 200 yards from the Coconut Marketplace, which has over 30 specialty shops and restaurants.

Great ocean front stay!

The KrellersGetAway #254 was a great 2nd story oceanfront studio perfect for our short stay. They had all the eminities needed to stay longer and the access to the pool and pool side bar made the stay that more relaxing. My family loved the closeness to the shops and restaurants at Cocanut Market. If the east coast is your destination on Kauai, we recommend KrellersGetAway.

You can't beat the view!!

This place is great!!! The location is fantastic: it is close to the airport and convenient to everything on the island. The complex is lovely: nice buildings, beautiful landscaping, a little pool with a tiki bar...you feel like you're on vacation the minute you walk through the lobby. The unit is very nice, and the view is AMAZING. You open the door and see the ocean right in front of you. It's gorgeous. The lanai is so peaceful; you can watch the sun come up in the morning, and it's beautiful; at sunset too. The ocean is so close that it was actually too close for my husband when we were trying to sleep at night because the sound of the waves was so loud--it's heavenly!! 254 is a corner unit which is great because it's quiet, away from the pool, and has an extra window. This isn't a luxury complex, but every single thing about it is great, and the price is incredible. I think it's the best value on Kauai. Amazing view, ten steps to the beach, tiki bar with happy hour specials...what more could you ask for? I can't wait to come back!!!

Beautiful Condo with one of the best views!!!

It is a beautiful updated condo located steps from the beach. The unit has free WiFi, A/C, all the cooking utensils you would ever need, big screen TV, coffee maker, boogie boards, lounge chairs (for your away beach days) and a lot more. The unit was very well maintained and clean, It also has a sofa sleeper available if needed. You can literally snorkel steps away from the condo and see lots of beautiful fish and turtles and occasionally the Monk seals. We have always enjoyed staying at the Islander because of the relaxing atmosphere but unit #254 made it that more enjoyable. The Islander has a night club (Trees) located on the property that is pretty cool to check out and have a few drinks. It is a local type bar that has the local music and a enjoyable light atmosphere. A great restaurant we discovered is called the Huki Lau (may be misspelled) located at the Beach Boy right next door. The food there was amazing and the service was great. Bull Sheds is a restaurant a few minutes away, it has a beautiful view and good food. Lava Lava is another restaurant that is walking distance but honestly the food was horrible, the service was horrible and it was extremely overpriced. The Market Place located in the connecting parking lot to the Islander has many shops for clothing, souvenirs, a nice pizza place and a ABC Store for your beer, liquor , sunscreen and odd ends. We travel to Kauai quite a bit and have learned the best way to get more bang for your buck is staying in Kapaa. You have everything you need as far as grocery stores, restaurants and anything else you might need during your stay. You are centrally located to go to Princeville or Poipu at each end of the Island and enjoy the beautiful beaches depending on which side has better weather for the day! If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation that will not break the bank. I would definitely recommend staying here. I hope this review helps with some questions!!! Craig & Paula M

More Activities:

Smith Family Luau is cool. A bit pricey but a neat experience. We took a Catamaran around Na Pali and it was very nice. So much to do, but must budget as some of the stuff gets expensive. Heck, you could even rent bikes there at the shops at Islander and just ride up north. They just finished miles and miles of a biking trail along the ocean. Good stuff! Snorkeling and beach fun right down the street at Lydgate Park.

IF MONEY IS NO OBJECT - Birds of Paradise is the thing to do !! These are the powered hang gliders which are also well described in the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. It’s hard to describe the feeling and sensation of being out in the open like that and being able to see everything. It’s not cheap though. I think for our 2 rides and pictures, it was almost $800 !! Also, check out Jack Harter’s helicopters, open door. We’ve heard it’s one of the highlights on the island!

Biking:

Check out http://www.coconutcoasters.com/. Nice trail and you can rent the bikes in Kapa’a town, a nice walk from the complex. Read about Lydgate Park below as well.

Swimming:

Places around the area with great swimming: 1) down the road to Kealia Beach on the other side of Kapa’a town, 2) Wailua at the Coco Palms where there are lifeguards at both but also lots of people, and 3) Lydgate Park about a mile south and great for swimming and snorkeling. You can bike (10-15 minutes) or walk (25-30 minutes) from our complex. It is a GREAT beach and a must see. Ask us about quickest most direct way to get there from our complex, if you choose to bike or walk.

Also, out of the area, Poipu Beach is great for swimming (albeit, busy). Up north, check out Tunnels Beach and Ke’e Beach. All of these places can be seen in the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook.

CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY:

A $100 processing fee will be charged for ANY cancellation. Cancellation of reservation 60 days or more prior to reservation will receive a full refund less the processing fee. Cancellation of reservation less than 60 days prior to reservation date will receive a refund, less processing fee, if accommodations can be rebooked and occupied during reservation time period at the rate contracted for. If rate requires discounting to fill the unit, guest cancelling must pay the difference between reserved rate and discounted rate. If unit is not rebooked, guest will pay $50 for each reservation night not rented. If unit is not rebooked during reservation time period within 30 days, there will be no refund given. No adjustments after check-in. Also, if cancellation is after 60 days from payment (whether deposit or final payment), credit card/Paypal fees will not be refunded as Paypal does not refund such fees after 60 days of receipt.
