Quiet Retreat Cabin is situated on a private, wooded, 1 acre lot in a Douglas Lake neighborhood. There are two marinas within 5 miles of the cabin where you can rent or dock boats and jet skis.
The cabin has a king bed in the master bedroom along with a jetted jacuzzi tub in addition to the full bath. The upstairs loft has a pool table and game table attachment, full bath and a queen sleeper sofa. There is a screened in porch with a 4 person hot tub and patio furniture. The wood burning fireplace is great during the winter months.
The cabin has a rustic look with the tongue and groove logs, but also has the modern luxuries of tile and hardwood flooring and leather couches. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is also a washer and dryer for your use.
You can get to Sevierville and Pigeon Forge within 30 minutes and Gatlinburg in about 45 minutes (on back roads avoiding the traffic). The cabin is located just 5 miles off I-40 exit 424 (avoiding any of the Smoky Mountain Traffic).
Will offer discounts for weekly or monthly rentals.
I grew up in Sevierville, TN and moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University for my undergrad degree. I moved to Murfreesboro and got my MBA from MTSU. My husband and I currently live in Murfreesboro with our two kids who are ages 4 and 2.
Jodi Lamb purchased this cabin in 2006
Our cabin was completed the weekend of our wedding in 2006. Just in time to host guests of our wedding (we weren't even the first to stay there)! My parents were managing Paradise Landing Resort and my dad was building cabins in the neighborhood. He talked me into letting him build one for us as an 'investment'. Well...as we all know, investments in housing and land hit bottom in 2008, so things didn't turn out as planned. We have held onto the cabin a little longer than planned, but have been successfully renting the property and others are enjoying the beauty of this quiet retreat. The kids love visiting their 'cabinet' and like to talk about how Grandaddy built it, but busy schedules keep us in Middle Tennessee most of the time.
The cabin is located just 5 miles off I-40 and you avoid the traffic of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. If you enjoy the lake and all it has to offer this is a great cabin. Even though it isn't on the water, there are two marinas close by with rentals and ramps (if you have your own boat). You can get to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg by way of back roads and avoid the dreaded traffic. We can get to Dollywood in about 25 minutes! It is a great cabin with modern luxuries and perfect for a family with kids. The pool table and hot tub offer entertainment if you just want to stay close by!
The cabin was beautiful and we were very happy with it. It sits back in a ways so it was very quiet and serene. We really enjoyed how quiet it was. Jodi was great to communicate with, when I emailed her, she returned my emails promtly. She gave us back road directions to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinbury which was helpful.
The only thing that would be helpful is maybe a book that lists where things are such as where to find firewood. The cabin did not have many kitchen supplies which was different than anywhere else we have stayed with VRBO. There were only 3 dinner plates and no cake pans or baking dishes.
Overall the stay was wonderful and we would definately stay there again!
What a quant and lovely cabin. Very clean and comfortable. Loved the hot tub. Jodi is very quick to respond if you need anything.
We use VRBO often. This cabin was perfect for our two week trip. Being from Dallas, we were looking for quiet and scenery. Both!! Pictures are accurate. Cabin was very clean and furnishings comfortable. Hot tub was the best after hiking or golf in the Smoky's. The location was just 40-45 min from Knoxville or Asheville. Back roads to pigeon forge and gatlinburg keeps you out of some traffic. Found some great local restaurants too. Perkins was a favorite with a "free homemade pie" night. And the Bistro on the Point looks out on the lake. Golf or fishing down the road. And go to the Bush Baked Bean museum and cafe. It was worth it. We even found an apple farm just 20 min away great cafe close by. Jodi is so pleasant to work with. Really wants to be sure you have a good stay. Her directions were spot on. Only disappointment was Douglas Lake itself. TVA almost drains it in October. But you can still get on the lake. We plan to make this a vacation stop again.

Cabin was very cozy and had everything you would need for a great stay. We had a little visitor to the screened in porch the days we were there. A squirrel who had chewed through the screen and was making a nest in the rafters. I notified Jodi and she did offer to refund some of our money because we couldn't use the hot tub, or enjoy the screened in porch.. Also the clothes washer did not work. Overall, our stay was good. Location is quiet and scenic. No wifi and intermittent service to cell phone.
We stayed here a few days and really enjoyed this beautiful log cabin. Jodi was there whenever we needed any questions answered and was a great host. The bed was very comfy and the screened in porch perfect for your morning coffee. We would stay here again in a minute and hopefully can in the future.
The cabin was just as expected from the photos and in great condition . It made us feel at home with being able to cook our own food instead of eating out the entire trip. Plenty of space for everyone and was a great size for a family of four. The renters were awesome and very sweet. They were easily accessible when needed and was helpful. Gaitlandberg/Smokey Mountains were about 45 minutes away, but the scenic route was worth the drive. We definitely will be coming back.
