This finished attic space is about 1000 square feet with no partitions or doors, except for the bathroom. It is roughly divided into three areas by changes in the ceiling. The area furthest from the entrance has a double bed and a well-stocked book case. We recently installed a curtain between this library area and the rest of the space so that the two double beds have at least visual separation. The curtains can be drawn back if you prefer the more open feeling.
The middle area includes a double bed and the wet bar. We do not call it a kitchen, because there is no stove, only a microwave, fridge, and electric tea kettle.
The area closest to the entrance has an Ikea futon-like sofa bed that we use if a third bed is needed. In addition, guests have use of the 500-square-foot covered deck that is on the attic level. This is a great spot, because its view is almost all of trees. This gives you a country-like feeling right in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Note that the attic studio covers the whole second floor of our home, and we live on the first floor. You'll have an entrance to your attic hideaway via our backyard patio which you access through the side gate at the end of the driveway. You might encounter us on the patio if we are having a meal, drink, or doing a project. Please look at all our photos and our video so you can better judge if what we have to offer is a good fit for you. If you have ANY questions, please ask. We believe more information is the way to get a good match between what we have to offer and what people are looking for.
