About Daryl and Linda Boothe

Both of us grew up in the West. Daryl's family has been in the area since the 1950s. We've lived in several states and moved to the Phoenix area with our children in 1988. I immediately learned to love the desert and the mountains here. We moved to Black Canyon City in 2004 and found a home place. Casa Linda was named for Linda; We finished La Casita in 2010 just in time for our daughter's wedding. Friends and family from all over the world have stayed with us. Now it's time to open La Casita and make new friends.

We've lived and traveled in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Wherever you're from we'll enjoy getting to know you; as little or as much as you like.

Daryl and Linda Boothe purchased this guest house in 2004

Why Daryl and Linda Boothe chose Black Canyon City

We bought this property because it combines all the beauty of Arizona in one place - mountains, cacti, trees, and a river. The rustic town was an added bonus.

What makes this guest house unique

We knew this was home as soon as we saw it! The view from the house's front door sold us within seconds.

We fell in love with the views, the house, the neighbors and the quiet serenity we find here.

Now with La Casita we can share this lovely part of Arizona with others

We believe you'll love it too.

La Casita was perfection

  • 5 of 5

The La Casita by Linda and Daryl Boothe turned out to be the BEST place for my friends and I to stay while spending a few days in Black Canyon, AZ. It was our "home base" for an ultramarathon race that started in Mayer, AZ and finished in New River, AZ. Great location. It was clean, cozy, comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. Linda made a special banana bread as a welcome treat. When we had trouble with the toilet, Daryl came over (even if it was almost midnight!) to help and fix the problem. Linda and Daryl were gracious hosts. We learned a lot about the desert as they knew their area very well; we enjoyed our conversations with them very much. The sunsets were spectacularly viewed from their backyard. Lots of fond memories! Thank you, Linda and Daryl for your thoughtfulness and care. Blessings to you! I am so glad I stumbled upon your little gem of a place! __Pen

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful stay in Daryl and Linda’s casita! They were the most welcoming, kind people, and filled the casita with lots of extra little details and treats that made our stay extra special. Daryl allowed us to use the fire pit in back of the main house, and even went out of his way to get us all the supplies we needed to make s’mores. The views from the casita are simply breathtaking, and the little town of Black Canyon City was so charming. We took a super fun ATV/UTV tour in the Sonoran desert that was minutes from the casita, and enjoyed an artist studio tour while we were there. It was a perfect little getaway before heading into Phoenix for Thanksgiving!

La Casita is part of a small mountainside development and has daytime endless views of the Bradshaw Mountain Range. Sunsets are unrivaled. Without the light pollution of a city. the night sky reveals the Milky Way, many star constellations, and often shooting stars.

My favorite daytime activity is hiking award winning Black Canyon Trail; or just nature trekking in the riparian area below the house watch for many kinds of wildlife, from foxes to gila monsters. We also provide illustrated booklets of local flora and fauna.

Whether hiking, horseback riding, mountaineering, mountain biking, or off-roading there's a place to do it here.

Ben Avery Shooting Range is near for skeet shooting, practice, or archery

Here visitors can find peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of city life or you're within about an hour of Phoenix, Prescott, Sedona, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, and Glendale to enjoy rodeos, unique historical and architectural sites, shopping, theaters, museums, and nightlife.
