Up north lake cabin
Rented this cabin in early October. It’s a beautiful place and very clean. Antique type cabin with modern features. The location is great with water views. Would definitely rent again if I’m vacationing in the area again.
Absolutely loved it
Loved the history and character of the cabin, enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and exploring the area. Weather was perfect. Some friends loved the pictures we posted and they might be booking soon!
Very relaxing week
Wonderful old cabin, situated at the start of the river on Lake of the Falls. The beautiful cedar porch is furnished with very comfy furniture, and is a great place to laze away the day. The enclosed three season room overlooking the lake is a great place to relax and take meals. The owner, Dave, was a pleasure to deal with.
Great log cabin in a great spot. Situated at a turn in the river, you can see both down river and out into the lake. Everything is clean and stocked. The kayaks, were great. The pontoon we added on for the week really enhanced the trip, we toured the lake and found some great spots to anchor and swim. One night we had a campfire and the temp dropped, which led to fog rolling down our hill and out into the river and then blowing around in the breezes - this was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
We saw a black bear on a nearby drive after a hike, a fox, a hawk snatching a fish from the river, loons (with their spooky calls), grouse, etc. Just amazing - exactly what we hoped for.
The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was adequate for our needs, not huge nor fancy, but it did the job. The screened in porch was just perfect. The Dear Lodge bar at the end of the drive on the main road is great too. Thanks!
Stepping back in time.
As a writer, I have an active imagination. My husband, our two rescue dogs, and I had a wonderful time staying at this 1880's fur trappers' cabin. Yes, it was deep mud season, but we are not complainers. The first thing our spaniel did was lie in a deep puddle of mud. Mother Nature reigns supreme so why bitch. Our favorite thing to do? - have breakfast on the front porch where two snow white trumpeter swans put on quite the show. The view of the lake is spectacular. What a magical place to stay. Thank you so much!
Beautiful, historic spot year 'round!
Spent a few days visiting my daughter in the WI north woods. This cabin is the real thing, carefully maintained and restored.
