About Bill Riggs

My wife and I and five girls really have enjoyed this home as it was a place that I grew up on and our girls have had the same opportunity to do so as well. They are outdoor enthusiasts and love spending time there. We currently live in Lindon Utah and try to get down to there as often as occasion will permit. We decided that since we can't be down there more often that we would open this home for others to enjoy and hope that your experience is one that you will never forget.

Bill Riggs purchased this house in 2008

Why Bill Riggs chose Utah

This is a family home that my father built but unfortunately lost his battle to cancer before he was able to really enjoy it. Our family grew up on the land that this home sits on where formally there was an old deer hunters cabin that we built once stood. There have been many fond memories growing up here and we really enjoy how relaxing it is to come and stay and at the same time there are plenty of things to do. There is Hunting, fishing, ATV riding, hiking and seeing the sights such as Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks.

What makes this house unique

There is the national parks to visit, ATV trails to ride fishing down at the river and all kinds of wildlife to enjoy such as deer, elk and turkeys. It is away from the hustle and very peaceful and relaxing. The views are amazing including the pink cliffs to the east.

Great house - kind of away from it all with absolutely unique and wonderful views

  • 5 of 5

The house is great. Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids had plenty of space and really enjoyed the coziness of the this house. The views are outstanding!! The house has everything a family or a group of friends might need and has a a very unique feel. Getting to it was a bit cumbersome but we absolutely loved it !!

Few things to remember : watch the video from the owner on how to get to the house- it is nearly impossible to find it without it.

Stock up on groceries in Panguitch. We used Joe’s Main Street. Since there is nothing closer to the house.

Most of all enjoy - the views are outstanding both during the day and at night - the sky full of stars is amazing!

Quiet, Away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay there. Quiet location. The house is easy to find if you watch the video supplied to you when you reserve this place. The house has all you need. Kids loved to explore the area and look for animals. We saw deer and squirrels. Heard turkeys but couldn't find them. The only thing this place needs is a horseshoe pit in the back.

Tip- Buy food from a bigger town before you enter Hatch. The towns nearby don't have much. The house has a microwave, toaster, BBQ, full fridge.Even a washer dryer if needed.

Big Place with Everything We Needed

  • 4 of 5

There were just two of us, so the house seemed enormous, definitely good for large groups. We spent a lot of time out on the large deck, and watched the cows come up to the fence to check us out (but do be careful, the chair legs can slip between the deck planks). A big reason we chose a remote location was for star gazing. Unfortunately, we had a full moon, which was really bright - probably should have checked a calendar. The road was bumpy to us in an economy-size rental, which got knocked around a bit. But don't be intimated by the route. We planned to arrive in daylight and played the video during the drive the first time in; after that it was fine.

Expected more for the price

  • 2 of 5

Road was 1.9miles from main road & the road on the property very rough & our car was dragging on the rocks in the center. Didn't look at the video the owner sent before we went - if I had would have looked for another place. Amenities as described. There was a coffee maker but only 4 cups. TV as stated but no cable or WiFi. The beds in the Master & 4th bedroom the best. No ice maker but owner did have bags of ice. Some utensils still greasy. This was a family vacation of older adults & we didn't have an off-road vehicle.

Given the difficult access and amenities not worth the price for us.

Owner very responsive and gave us directions to the home. And when I called later when electricity was out - only out for a short time & his uncle came over to check on us.

We visited Zion, Bryce Cannon, Cedar Breaks, Grand Excalante, Red Canyon from this location. Only services in town were a couple eating places. Gas, grocery, drug store, liquor, etc. in Panguitch 14 miles away.

Owner's Response: I'm not sure why such a negative response. I have never in 3 years listing our home and with all the rentals we have had where anyone complained about the road. It is very well maintained and the home is very clean. It's unfortunate that they felt this way but I guess you can't please everyone. Be sure and check all the other reviews which are 4 and 5 star.

Beautiful and Secluded

  • 5 of 5

My husband and daughter really enjoyed our stay at the aptly-named Panoramic Cliffs Retreat. It was clean and very comfortable with all the amenities of home. Yes, the road to the house is gravel, but we had no problem at all with it, and the reward for the 5 minute drive is gorgeous seclusion. We would definitely stay there again!

Brian Head

This home is located between two national parks, Bryce Canyon which is only 35 minutes away and Zions which is 50 minutes away. There is also Cedar Breaks and Brian Head ski resort. There places to go fishing such as the Sevier river which is just below our property and Panguitch Lake to name a few. This is a great place for relaxation while you travel and a great place to hold your next family reunion.
