Carved plaques with antlers from Austria decorate the high walls and antlered chandeliers hang from the ceilings. Newly-constructed Yosemite Copper Bear Lodge has cathedral-like windows for views of the forest and distant mountains. A small mountain creek meanders by the outside deck. Teak rockers line the deck for resting your feet after a long day of hiking in the high country or leisurely wandering around the valley floor. The great room has a large stone fireplace. A 42-inch flat screen television and blu-ray are available for watching a movie. The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining table can seat approximately ten to twelve. Phone for unlimited local calls. The home is surrounded by dogwoods, maples, large white firs, pine, and cedar. The home has two queen beds, two twin beds, and two bunk beds (one with trundle). There is a pool table and board games in the loft. The loft has leather high-back chairs for reading.
We were born and raised in California and have treasured going to Yosemite with our families and friends. The annual trip to Yosemite was the high point of each year. Our fondest memories are of our trips to Yosemite. Because of our strong love for Yosemite, we built a home in the park.
We have been vacationing at Yosemite for over thirty years. Generations of our family love the park and all the available activities that Yosemite offers. The park's beauty is unmatched. This new, charming house has much to offer to you and your family.
Close to the valley floor and Glacier Point. The home is within the park's gates. Badger Pass Ski Resort is close by.
"the best house we've ever stayed in" was the comment from the kids. So not bad. The place was great and the kitchen had every gadget you could need to provide catering for a large wedding, including baking the cake.
Only one niggle - internet was non functional for our stay. At best could send one message/email and then unresponsive for hours. We had to play Monopoly as a family rather than surf the web. Oh well!
Had a spectacular vacation at the Copper Bear Lodge. We were made to feel very much at home and welcome, and enjoyed some enriching family activities both in the Lodge and in Yosemite Valley. This property is truly classic and amazing -- everyone in our family agreed that we were indeed fortunate and blessed to stay in such beautiful surroundings. First class all the way.
Copper Bear Lodge was a dream. The home was had everything we needed and plenty more! Very clean and well appointed.
Copper Bear lodge is an absolutely superb place to stay and really added to our enjoyment of our Yosemite vacation. It exceeded all our expectations - so much so that we would have liked to stay much longer simply to enjoy the property. We had not seen photos of the kitchen or bathrooms before staying but these were also of the highest standard, and like the rest of the property, spotlessly clean. The owners provided so many thoughtful amenities our children said, 'It's like Christmas!' We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Yosemite and will be recommending to our friends and family.
As soon as we walked in, we knew we should have reserved it for a longer stay. It was more than enough room for our family of six. We enjoyed the pool table, the movie library, and the nights on the porch. It was extremely clean and the decor was rustic and tasteful. It was a great location to glacier point and the Yosemite Valley. This house gets my highest praise, If we come back to Yosemite, this is the place we would stay without a doubt. thank you.
We spent three days at Copper Bear Lodge in Yosemite. The property is gorgeous and the owners have thought about every little detail to make your stay enjoyable. The kitchen is very well equipped and super organized. The location is great, near Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point and not too far from Mariposa Grove. Our party had eight people and we fit very comfortably in the house. The only potential drawbacks are the lack of AC, intermittent internet and no television. We actually didn't mind this since it promoted spending more time together playing games and talking. This house was by far the nicest house that we saw in Yosemite West. I would highly recommend this home.
The beautiful Yosemite Valley is 20 minutes away. Glacier Point is approximately 25 minutes away. The Giant Sequoia Trees of the Mariposa Grove is approximately 35 minutes away. Skiing and snowboarding at Badger Pass in the winter. Hiking trails near the home.
