We love dogs and children but please note that our house is not suitable for young children that are not competent swimmers. The pool is not fenced and is just steps from three sliding glass doors.
ENTER the front door and notice the glossy white porcelain floors, white walls, and glass doors that run throughout the house. If you like white, bright and clean, this is it.
TURN right to enter the spacious livingroom, diningroom and kitchen. The high ceilings will catch your eye, as will the awesome view of the mountains through the celestory windows.
WALK to the livingroom, pass by the teak bar cart, and plop yourself onto the 1964 blue sofa. You'll notice the mid-century modern sofa chairs, a beautiful wood credenza, original mid-century lamps, a brass wall sculpture by C. Jere, and plenty of Trina Turk pillows. Take first dibs on the leather chair and ottoman as it has the best views in the house through the sliding glass door. Modern is mixed with the old by way of a 39' flat-screen TV (with cable & a free netflix subscription), DVD player, wifi, printer, MP3 compatible stereo, glass table and shag rug. Peruse the tourist books and retro CDs.
HEAD to the kitchen and pull up a stainless steel stool at the island while you watch your friends make you pancakes on the gas stove, or maybe a margarita in the blender? This full size kitchen has complimentary basics, and is stocked with plenty of pots, pans, baking dishes, serving dishes, mixing bowls, and baking sheets. Appliances include Cuisinart grinder/coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, blender.
CHECK out the adjacent diningroom next to the kitchen and admire the collection of bright mid-century original ceramics on the teak sideboard, the mid-century modern Danish teak dining table with colourful placemats, and the matching Danish teak sofa. Sit your butt down and enjoy the patio and pool view for a few minutes.
NOW WALK to the other side of the house to view the bedrooms and bathrooms. The bedrooms come with colorful bedspreads, bath towels, reading lamps, and bright rugs. You'll also find a extra aero-bed in the closet.
INTO the first bedroom you'll find a queen bed, large closet, mid-century modern chair, table & dresser. The second bedroom has a full/double bed, large closet, and it also works as an office with a mid-century modern desk, chair & lamp. Both of these bedrooms have private views of palm trees.
ACROSS the hall is the washer and dryer, with detergent and drying rack. It is adjacent to the first bathroom which is brightly lit from the skylight, and has a full size tub and shower.
WALK to the end of the hall to find the master bedroom. It features mid-century modern furniture, a large wall of mirrored closets and sliding glass doors that lead to the private backyard. It has a 29' flat screen TV and DVD player, as well as an en suite bathroom with shower, low shiny porcelain tub from 1959, and a convenient doored entry to the backyard.
FINALLY...tour the backyard. You'll love the size and privacy. Grab a nap on the lounger under the umbrella or float in the pebble tec pool while enjoying your drink. As evening comes, you'll laugh with friends around the dining table, enjoying the Weber gas grill. And after dinner, you might jump into the hot spa, or sit around the fire pit roasting marshmallows.

The mid-century modern aesthetic is wonderful but also this particular house appealed because of the designer, the famous neighborhood, and the high ceilings and mountain views from the celestory windows. An added bonus was the larger size than most of this vintage.
It just 'spoke to us' as cliche as that might sound. But we are delighted when guests show up and go 'oh wow' just like we did when we first saw it.
It's new! This is a newly renovated rental. You get to experience the best of new sheets, towels, and basically everything in this house!
Fabulous location: Quiet street but you can walk in about 10 mins to 8 restaurants and bars, and it's a short drive or bike ride to downtown Palm Springs.
Mid-century ambiance: The interior, although entirely updated in 2013, pays homage to its 1959 origins, with almost exclusively teak mid-century modern furniture and mid-century modern art. Put Frank Sinatra on, mix a martini from the bar cart, and you can drift back 55 years.
What a wonderful home to spend a week in! Loved the pool and backyard. Loved being close to downtown and shopping but still had a peaceful neighborhood. The house was nicely equipped with all the necessities! Terry was great meeting us at the house and walking us through the pool/spa system etc. All our expectations were met. Will definitely recommend to friends and family! Thank you!
This home didn't disappoint with all the rave reviews - its good value for money. The pool and Jacuzzi were a highlight and the house was spacious with comfortable beds, linens and pillows.
The gourmet restaurants at the artistic end of town are a good 30to 45 mins walk away so if you have young kids you'll need to drive or uber. The bikes, games and pool floaties were a much appreciated bonus. It's a nice quite neighborhood with a backdrop to the snowy capped mountain. A little slice of heaven - thank you for a wonderful stay.
This is a wonderful property. We stayed for a week in June and couldn't have been happier. Everything went smoothly. The owner, Ron, responded to any questions we had almost immediately and the caretaker, Terry, was very welcoming and helpful. The house itself is exactly what we were looking for as far as mid-century coolness. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The views and the pool are great. I hope to return to this beautiful home again and again. Just book it!
Ron's place was absolutely amazing and we had a fantastic time. Everything was perfect and made our stay so comfortable and the house was in immaculate condition. Ron and Terry made everything easy and super enjoyable. I would stay with them again and highly recommend staying at their house when in Palm Springs.
We stayed at this property in mid November and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Palm Springs is quite spread out so we had to drive most places. That being said the house is not too far from anything - the old downtown, the Tram, and a grocery store is within walking distance. The house itself is bright and spacious and had everything one could possibly need. Two bathrooms, three bedrooms and a huge kitchen/living area. The grounds are spacious and there is a pool and hot tub. We had no complaints at all and would encourage anyone going to Palm Springs to consider this house as the place to stay!
Fantastic location on a street of mid-century modern homes, with the San Jacinto mountains as backdrop. A short walk to groceries, coffee, the Riviera Spa & Resort, and numerous restaurants and bars along Indian Canyon Drive and Palm Canyon Drive. Very close to all the fun to be had in Palm Springs.
