About this property

The Fork Inn’s Pond Cottage - Hot tub, firepit, pond, near hiking trails & farm!

This picturesque cottage is a beautiful place to relax and unwind. Located at the top of a small hill, Pond House is nestled in the middle of nature; a gorgeous pond on one side and immaculate, stately woods on the other. Come enjoy your family or perfect solitude in the Pond Cottage.

Pond house features two bedrooms and a loft that all share a full bathroom making this space is perfect for small families or besties. The kitchen holds a small dining area and overlooks the living room for added comfort and closeness. Charming and rustic. There is parking for only two cars.

The Pond Cottage is in the middle of nature. You may be visited by critters with 2, 4, 6, or 8 legs. A shy country mouse lives here and may leave little mouse poops (Tennessee does not have mouse-borne illnesses). So, if you are looking for an aseptic hotel experience, please rent someplace else!

We generally leave our guests alone, but may visit at an appropriate time to say hello.

Please check in before dark as the Pond House can be difficult to find at night. As soon as you go into the driveway, make a right and go up the hill. If you arrive during daylight, please turn your car around so it faces downhill. To avoid having to call a tow truck, do not turn your car around at night (unless you have a friend with flashlight).

The price quoted is for Lodging only. If you are having an EVENT you must send a message to receive details and pricing. The internet is via copper landline. Although it is unlimited, it is not fast.

Nice Oasis
It was quiet and very remote. It’s a cute little cottage and we did not really need tv or internet so it was good for us. We had fun playing the old records on the record player. Beds very comfortable and nice spot for just the two of us. Would come back.

Peace
In some ways we didn’t really want to leave the cabin once we arrived. But since we were only there for a few days we did go out to dinner. I would love to come back when I didn’t have to work because it was so quiet and peaceful and beautiful.

Lee Anne and Jonathan are honored be Stewards of our wonderful land so our family, friends, and guests may enjoy the beauty of the Big East Fork Valley. A permanent conservation easement protects most of our land and we are supporters and volunteers of the Center for Sustainable Stewardship. We hope you will join us in helping to preserve our native Tennessee flora and fauna that inhabit this 5000 acre pristine watershed. Lee Anne is a pediatrician and Jonathan is a retired prostate pathologist. So she is well qualified to take care of me! We arise early to enjoy the magical morning light and mists. You might see us riding our tandem bike along the road, tending our horses, or volunteering at the non-profit farm store.

We’d love for you to visit the inspiring Big East Fork Valley and enjoy the unforgettable experiences awaiting you. We welcome your help in helping us protect and sustain our miraculous valley for our grandchildren and yours! We look forward to your stay !

Why they chose this property

Serenity in the woods. The small pond with Adirondack chairs is wonderful for an afternoon nap. Great getaway to write a book or enjoy close friends. The outdoor shower rocks. And the room numbers recall the Chelsea Hotel rooms where Janis Joplin inspired Leonard Cohen to write a song mentioning Big East Fork Road. The latter famous singer-songwriter lived next door for two years in 1970 -71.
