I came to Hawaii from Rapid City, SD in 1994 to teach. I have families in Kansas, South Dakota, Oregon, Washington State, New Mexico, Virginia, North Carolina and Arizona. My husband and I bought this unit because of the closeness to everything and of course, the best oceanfront pool on Alii Drive. We furnished the unit with high end solid wood furnishings for your comfort.

We bought this property because of the pretty partial ocean view from lanai/porch of the unit, Oceanfront Pool and it is right on Alii Drive where You can easily walk to beaches, shopping, all tourist attractions are within 30 minutes away-less if you are a fast walker. The nice partial ocean view from the unit and oceanfront pool makes this the perfect place to spend your time in Hawaii. This complex has a combination of owners living in their units to long term monthly renters to short term vacation rental. You will meet many nice people with many Aloha during your stay. We have guests that keep coming back every year because they have made good friends here. The only thing we would change with this condo is the exterior brown trim on the building because it makes the building looks dated. The paint are less than ten years old and will not change for awhile. I have made recommendation to the board to change the color of the trim the next time the building gets painted.
Very clean compare to staying at a hotel. Carpet and sofas are cleaned annually with spot cleaning as needed throughout the year to keep it clean and fresh for our guests. Cute and clean condo in the heart of Kona. Couldn't ask for more. My boyfriend and I enjoyed 5 nights in this condo and enjoyed every aspect of it. Comfy bed, nice kitchen, spacious bathroom. Thanks for providing beach extras (chairs, towels, cooler, etc.) We will be back!!
While this is a small unit, it is exceptionally clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. The unit has a large and very comfy bed, the couches were super plush and comfy, and we enjoyed sitting on the lanai to eat and drink our coffee in the a.m. and just soak in the sun and the views. The kitchen is small but well appointed. We stayed for a week and cooked almost every morning and night and never needed something that wasn't in the kitchen. And the oven was I think the cleanest oven I've ever seen in my life. We were thrilled that there were coolers and ice blocks, boogie boards, beach towels and tons of regular bath towels, kitchen towels, etc. A short 15 minute walk to the north puts you right in the shopping and eating district where the marketplace has fresh fruit and lots of local shopping. An even shorter walk south will take you to Alli'i Gardens Marketplace which was fantastic for shopping local. The pool and the rocks below were a great place to watch the sunset or just soak up some rays. The transaction with the owners was a piece of cake, and we received detailed directions which made the whole process no drama which is exactly what I was looking for.
Great budget priced neat and clean place, and nice pool. Enjoyable walk to town. Enjoyed sitting out on the lanai looking at the ocean and watching a beautiful sunset.
We had a great stay. The condo was very clean, and comfortable. The amenities were nice. They had a small cooler, beach chairs, beach umbrella, to borrow. The condo is close to shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend staying there and the owners were great to work with.
The good: The unit is nicely updated inside, complete with a comfortable, foam bed (something we did not have in our 2 previous rentals this trip), nice furniture, and TV. The owner was extremely easy to work with and when our airline changed our flight schedule, she was helpful in extending our stay. There were even a few beach chairs on the lanai that made our beach day more pleasant. The unit is conveniently located a mile away from the bustling Kailua-Kona waterfront district...lots of restaurants and shops to visit. Just 20 or so miles to the south was some of the best snorkeling I've ever encountered at Pae'e (aka Two Step) in Honaunau Bay (saw large white tip reef shark, sea turtle, and countless species of fish).
The bad: I would take off 1/2 star if possible for 2 reasons. First, the complex is old and looks like an old motel. Again, the interior is nicely updated with newer appliances and remodeled bathroom, but the exterior is dated. Secondly, the air conditioner would cool the unit, but then shut down and kicked on every 20 or 30 minutes throughout the night for about 30 seconds...it did this all night long.
Overall, this was a great place to stay...the possitive points far outweighed the negative.
Nice, clean unit. We stayed 5 nights. Owner was very easy to work with, and we really appreciated the beach chairs, cooler, and beach towels. Weather was warm, so nice to have the A/C to cool things down before bedtime. There really isn't a view from the unit, but a wonderful view from the pool! Nice place to use as our base to explore the Big Island. Thanks Khammoui!!
If you enjoy walking, you can stroll to Alii Drive Farmer's Market for fresh local fruits, vegetables, sourvenier, restaurants, beaches, tourist activities, snorkeling, cloud forest to see parrots is only 10 minutes drive away.
We do our best to keep pests like ants and cockroaches out of the condo. With inspection and pest control twice a year as well as when it is needed, they do come in with fruits and vegetables you purchase and when you come back from beaches. They are great hitchhikers.
