The Pink House Loft for Two is an air conditioned studio unit with one queen bed, full kitchen, and bathroom with a wrap-around covered porch. It resides on a private 1/3 acre lot with banana and coconut palms, beautiful bougainvillea and a glorious flamboyant tree.
The Pink House is located in the village of Esperanza on the Caribbean side of the island. From The Pink House you can walk to a grocery store, restaurants, and two beautiful beaches of Vieques(one is the famous Sun Bay). The Malecon (a boardwalk on Playa Esperanza) is lined with shops and great restaurants and only a short walk from your door!
The living area of The Pink House has a very well equipped full kitchen, TV with DVD player, full house air conditioning, ceiling fans, Wifi and a great view of the village and a glimpse of the Caribbean. There is even an ice maker and a powerful blender to celebrate the evening (or afternoon, if you like).
We provide all linens, beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler for beach picnics and an assortment of snorkeling equipment. All you need to bring is a hat, shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops, and of course a swimsuit.
There is a guide in The Pink House that shares our knowledge of the greatest beaches, and such. This will get you going in the right direction as soon as you arrive!
Once you arrive on Vieques, you will be greeted at the Pink House for a thorough introduction to the house, neighborhood, and island.
We have tried to supply everything that you would need for a most memorable and relaxing vacation.
Rental vehicles can be hard to come by on Vieques, so the Pink House has a 2015 4-door Toyota Tacoma pickup truck you may rent during your visit.
We are a family group from Ohio which jointly owns the Pink House. We all fell in love with Vieques after only a visit or two. We have traveled the Caribbean extensively and found each island to be unique. We love the peace and quiet of Vieques, the wild horses, the friendly people, the stunning beach after beach. There are no fast food restaurants or stop lights. We love it, and especially love to share it.
We have stayed in dozens of VRBO homes, so we outfitted our Pink House with all of this experience. We know that it is convenient to make a washer and drier available, important to keep sharp knives in the kitchen, and smart to have a back-up water heater and blender in case something breaks. Similarly, we are responsive to the feedback we receive from our guests.
Susan purchased this studio in 2013
We looked for an open, airy house in a quiet neighborhood. Something that would allow us to stroll down to the beach or an evening restaurant. We found all of this in The Pink House.
Firstly, I need make mention that the owners are first class human beings.
We started our holiday with me leaving my backpack ( passports, phone, credit cards, etc) on the publicos taxi. Susan was on the phone immediately trying to track it down, while Tom drove me to the ferry terminal to try and find it as well; with success!
The air conditioned loft was very comfortable for the two of us, with all the required comforts, and allowed for a very civilized home base while we discovered Vieques. Not having to purchase the condiments, spices, etc. is a welcome touch as were the drinks on arrival and use of the barbecue , fins and snorkel gear.
Tom and Sue also supplied us with a wealth of information so that we " hit the ground running" and made full use of our time on the island.
The quanity and quality of the beaches in the Wildlife Refuge is astounding, with Punta Arenas proving to be one of the most beautiful I have experienced in decades!
We had a great time and our 8 days felt like 2 weeks.
Thanks for sharing your piece of Vieques with us!

We love the Pink House, and Susan and Tom are wonderful hosts. Already looking forward to our next visit!! Thanks for everything!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 1wk+ stay at the Pink House, and enjoyed the wonderful one and only Vieques island. The loft is artfully decorated, and usefully engineered - with wonderful cross ventilation of the ocean breeze and sun lights but the wide roof overhang shields the living area from heat or glare; the location is excellent, walking distance to Sun Beach, Esperanza Beach, the Green Store, Malecon, and the nice Vieques version of Central Park where one can exercise, or relax with a kindle, in the shade while local kids were running around. The garden is lush and beautiful, the hosts Susan and Tom friendly and kind. We highly recommend this place, knowing that this honest act is encouraging competition coming reservation time :-) So whoever gets the slice of that paradise of Tom and Susan please enjoy for all of us.
The Pink House was the perfect place for us to land and experience the wonders of Vieques Island and the wonderful vibe of Esperanza. Sitting up the street from the Melacon (boardwalk) , we got to know the quiet, friendly neighborhood on our daily walks to the restaurants and shops and beaches. Sun Bay, at the end of the road, was a fantastic spot to swim, relax and catch the sunsets. We'll definitely stay again.
First of all, the communication between Susan was always great! I was never left hanging, and she was very helpful in answering questions effectively and in a timely manner.
The upstairs of the Pink House was absolutely perfect for me for so many reasons. I felt like it was very safe, private, and secure. With the owners living on the main floor of the house, the property had a presence which added to the security of the loft. It is well lit inside and out. Good lighting is important to me, as are the cooking supplies and sharp kitchen knives, which were supplied. I liked the plates. Could use a little sturdier cork screw, but that's minor.
The loft had all the little touches that made it feel like my home away from home. The hairdryer and shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner were all decent, everything functioned properly, and it seemed fairly new, fresh, and clean. A beach towel, boogie board, and beach chair was available for use, but I couldn't find a beach umbrella. That's what palm trees are for, right? I liked having a washer and dryer. It was especially useful for washing some clothing, towels, beach towel, sheets, and dish towel since I was staying for a longer period of time.
I liked both the front and back patios. The back one, facing the yard, is perfect for morning tea and breakfast, and the front one is perfect for evening wine sipping and dinner.
There was a TV and DVDs which would be important to some, but I didn't turn it on once. My favorite thing was the Bose stereo (just a smaller one), so I could just hook up my own music to play. I saw there was a Scrabble board and I wish I would have had the chance to play a game with someone, but there were just too many beaches to see. Maybe next time.
As far as the area, the Pink House is a short walk to the Malecon where you'll find all sorts of restaurants, but I only recommend 2 of them: El Quenepo and Bananas.....and the food trucks. Everyone will tell you to go to Bili and it sure looks inviting, but stay away from that restaurant if you want to have a perfect trip.....not even exaggerating. I didn't like all the wandering dogs and horses later in the evening when walking at night. The dogs and horses don't like each other, so don't get between them.
Susan and Tom were very friendly, and they even drove myself and 2 of my friends (who weren't even staying at the Pink House) to the airport when we failed to find a taxi. One of the best rentals I've stayed in
The Pink House has everything you need to make your stay on Esperanza, Vieques wonderful: including a complete kitchen, moveable chairs, tv, comfortable bed and large shower in a well appointed bathroom and all the beach items that you might need. There is also a wraparound porch with a table and chairs in the front and the back. The garden is very beautiful with palm trees, flowers and lots of tropical plants. The loft is very well maintained and it was spotless when we arrived.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we are looking forward to our visit next year. Ken & Ellen 1/29/17-2/2/17
Vieques is an amazing place. The people are wonderful and the opportunities to be amazed by nature abound. Our home to share is in a small village. This allows walking to many restaurants, bars, shops, and beaches. Don't miss a tour of the bio bay; you can choose a pontoon boat ride or a kayak. The beaches are the quietest that we know of, and bright blue too! Great snorkeling!
