Chris Alexander purchased this house in 2013
This property was my husband's idea. I thought it was too large to tackle, but I am so glad we got it! It has a very calm, serene, and stable feel to it.
I love sitting on the front porch with my morning coffee, watching the birds fly low along the river. Even rainy days are magical.
This was our third stay at this great house. It's the best place to stay in Bandon! You get a great water view of the river without the super windy areas closer to the ocean. There's space for everyone and everything, while still being cozy and comfy. It's the only place we ever want to stay!
Our stay at the Danish House was awesome. This older home has been nicely redone with all the modern convenience while still maintaining it's old world charm. Many interesting antiques. All the bedrooms has it's own bathroom which is great!!! The kitchen big and open and well equipped. The house is a few minutes outside town, down a country road that adds to it's beauty and peacefulness. Enjoyed having the river and dock right across the road, didn't get any fish but did get enough crabs for dinner.
Looking forward to our next stay.
First off, Christine was very accommodating. We had originally contacted her about another of her properties, but unfortunately it was already booked. She wrote back and mentioned that the Danish house was available. The house is turn of the century with modern updates. There are four bedrooms each with its own bath. The setting is amazing. Being right across the street from the Coquille River the view is incredible and very peaceful. You can sit outside on the large desk and take in your morning coffee and watch the river roll by. The house was also dog friendly which was a huge plus! Very clean and comfortable. If we are ever back up near Bandon we will definitely stay here again.
I have stayed in this house and Christine's other homes often in the last 6 years as I work in the area seasonally. All of them have their own charm and quirkiness. They are farm houses through and through. The high thread count linens and comfortable beds sell me on staying in these homes time and time again. I know I am coming to a place that is clean and comfortable. And if it's not, the onsite caretaker will make sure I have what I need. For an enjoyable stay, I highly recommend these Prosper Village homes.
We were very happy with our stay at the Danish House. We had multiple families meet her for an extended weekend. I was a little worried that there would not be enough beds for all 10 of us but was happily surprised to find four bedrooms and plenty of beds. Plus each bedroom had their own bathroom so there was plenty of privacy! The big kitchen table was a great place for us all to get together but the house was big enough that we never felt crowded.
We also had four dogs joining us and it was so nice to know that they were all quite welcome to stay there as long as we picked up after them!
The kitchen was very modern and well stocked. We all loved the antiques throughout the house and it was great to read the history of the house and see the old photos.
We will be looking forward to returning here in the future!
My siblings and I rented the Danish House as a surprise for my elderly parents. My mother has Alzheimer's so this was a very special trip and was the first time we had all stayed together in the same home in 40years.
The home was amazing. There were so many special touches that made our stay exceptional. The kitchen was large and spacious and provided everything a person could ask for. The dining area even provide a piano.
There are large porches in front, side and back with a beautiful river view.
Our parents loved reading the history of the home and Bandon and enjoyed the historic photos. The 1908 Sears and Roebucks catalog was hit with everyone.
The location is perfect and close to everything. We went to the spectacular Holiday Lights at Shore Acres and tasted more samples than we should have at the Cranberry Factory and Face Rock Creamery.
I highly recommend the Danish House. We can't wait to return with our own children and grandchildren.
Bandon-by-the-Sea is a lovely, fresh-air tourist town which has been dedicated to tourism for the last 100 years.
If you need to cancel, I will give you a full refund no matter what the reason. I try to treat you like family!
