|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Set in secluded, landscaped gardens just 300m from the beach with stunning sea views and only a 5 minute drive to local shops and restaurants, this luxury villa is fully air-conditioned, with free Wifi, free access to British TV and accomodates up to 6 people. The property is one of a small group of 7 villas built 10 years ago to a very high standard. It sits on the edge of the Akamas Natura area & enjoys a front-line position overlooking the sea. Set out on two floors, it features a spacious open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area and modern furniture and fittings. The mature, landscaped gardens offer both shady and sunny terraces and a large entertainment patio with dining table and chairs and comfortable sofa seating overlooks the pool. The 9m x4m pool is surrounded by a large, sun terrace, with sun loungers, umbrellas etc. providing ample space to dine, relax and swim in comfort. A large built in BBQ with stone sink provides opportunities to experiment with grilling local fish and produce if you want a break from eating out at the nearby Latchi tavernas. A private, double bedroom with adjoining shower room leads separately out to the pool. Upstairs, the master bedroom with 4 poster double bed opens onto a private balcony with stunning sea views and another sun terrace with gazebo. Bedroom 3 has twin beds and views across to the Troodos mountains.
Only 45 minutes drive from Paphos International Airport, yet a world away from the rat-race of the busy resorts, the villa's location in the Akamas region affords beautiful weather which is pleasant off-season and not as oppressively hot as the south coast in high summer.
The villa is situated just 300 metres from Asprokremos beach, widely recognised as the best on Cyprus. To get to the beach you walk along a pathway/track which takes you straight down to the beach (5 minutes) or slightly longer, but a pleasant evening stroll, through the fields towards the luxury world-class 5* Anassa Hotel (10 mins).
The Akamas National Park is immediately behind the villa and offers a diverse selection of wildlife, migratory birds and flora. A comprehensive network of established walking trails criss-cross the Akamas peninsula. There are routes to suit every level of fitness: from a gentle stroll through spectacular scenery to the Baths of Aphrodite nearby; to hard-core trekking in challenging mountain terrain. The Akamas peninsula is southern Cyprus's least developed & best-kept secret. A region of natural beauty, deserted coves housing turtle sanctuaries, crystal-clear waters, picturesque fishing villages with excellent seafood restaurants and thickly wooded hillsides rising majestically above the rugged coastline.
Within a five minute drive of the villa is picturesque Latchi, with its pretty harbour and new marina. You can take a leisurely stroll to watch the many fishing boats followed by a relaxing waterfront lunch or traditional meze dinner at one of the many small seafood restaurants and tavernas offering the best fresh sea food in Cyprus. Latchi has several operators offering all things nautical, including small motor boat hire, scuba diving etc. A variety of water sports are available throughout the summer season. Trips are available from Latchi harbour. These go up the coast past the villa to the blue lagoon and are a nice way of seeing the coast and doing a bit of swimming/snorkeling. A traditional boat stays out longer and provides a barbecue on board. From the harbour you can also hire a small boat to explore the isolated coves along the bay, hire scuba diving equipment, paraglide, etc.
The elegant 5-star Anassa Hotel is within walking distance of the villa; it has a range of world-class restaurants offering some of the best food and wine on Cyprus together with a world class spa complex helping to make the Anassa one of the 20 top mediterranean hotels according to a recent Times readers' survey. Or why not just stroll along to sip a cocktail on the terrace before returning for a meal at the villa with a view of the identical beach!
The charming, historic town of Polis is about 10 minutes drive and here you will find a wide choice of bars & restaurants for coffee, lunch or dinner. Or just enjoy a leisurely day by the pool starting with breakfast on the garden patio which is shaded by a large gazebo and is surrounded by a herb area and flowering shrubs.Then take a stroll on the nearby beach which is often deserted out of season followed by a barbecue lunch or dinner back at the villa.

Sue and I are both retired and enjoy visiting our holiday home in Cyprus where we love the surrounding countryside and beautiful year-round sunshine. We first visited the Akamas region 6 years ago on a day trip from Paphos and were struck by the beautiful scenery and coastline which reminded us of some parts of Greece and Italy.The villa is our own holiday home and we have fitted it out to a high standard with all the things you would expect in a 'home from home'.
The Akamas is widely recognised as one of the most attractive and least spoilt parts of Cyprus;
Sue and I are both retired and enjoy visiting our holiday home in Cyprus where we love the surrounding countryside and enjoy the beautiful year-round sunshine. We enjoy the walks along the spectacular coastline and into the hills and surrounding villages. As we both enjoy wildlife we love to see the wild flowers in Spring and to watch the swallows arrive and young start to fly and then swoop down to drink in the pool. Later in the year we enjoy seeing the colourful Bea-eaters circling high overhead.
Peter Emms purchased this villa in 2006
We first visited the Akamas region on a day trip from Paphos and were struck by the beautiful scenery and coastline which reminded us of some parts of Greece and Italy. the north-west corner of the island has truly outstanding scenery, equal to any island in the Mediterranean, which still remains almost untouched. The Akamas peninsula, is the last remaining pristine coastline in Cyprus. It’s a unique area; home to 600 native species which is likely soon to be designated a national park. The villa itself is situated right at the edge of the Akamas but close to the small town of Polis and the neighbouring fishing village of Latchi where you will find all modern amenities. If you like your holiday resorts quiet, authentic and not swamped by modern tourism, this is the area for you, especially if you visit in spring or autumn, when visitors are fewer and the ‘weather bonus’ compared with the UK is at its greatest. In March or April, when the weather back home can still be grey, damp and cold, our guests usually have warm sunshine and light breezes.the villa enjoys spectacular views straight out to sea and overlooks the pristine Asprokremos beach with crystal clear waters; the same beach and views as those enjoyed by guests at the nearby luxury Anassa hotel.
The views from high up on the peninsula meediately behind the villa itself are spectacular; the sweeping aerial view to Cape Arnaoutis at the end of the peninsula are amazing. In spring the limestone rock is sprinkled with thousands of rock cyclamens and other flowers. And if you’re a keen walker, the five mile Aphrodite Trail walk (which starts a few hundred metres from the villa) is a must. The views are unequalled anywhere on the island and if you don’t fancy the steep climb, you can walk along the Akamas coast from the Aphrodite Baths on a wide accessible track providing easy walking; or hire a bike and go explore http://m.guardian.co.uk/travel/2013/apr/12/cyprus-cycling-holiday-akamas-peninsula
The property has been our holiday home since we bought it from new, nine years ago. We have fitted it out to a high standard and keep it updated and in a good state of repair and decoration. A consistent theme in feedback from guests is that the villa is better equipped than they expected with lots of space and plenty of options for finding a quiet spot. We love its proximity to the beach where we often take a stroll before dinner or for an early morning dip. We love sitting on the upstairs terrace which enjoys fantastic views of the sea straight in front of the villa. At night, we enjoy just chilling on the large sofas sipping a glass of chilled wine and listening to the cicadas. The garden has been a joy to watch develop and we enjoy sitting in the shade and watching the insects visiting the many colourful flowers and the lizards climbing the stone walls. This part of Cyprus can be less oppressive in the summer months than other parts of the south and enjoys gentle sea breezes at most times. Hiring a boat is very simple and many water sports are readily available. Outside of August, we often have the 2km beach - which is immediately below the villa and said by many to be the best on Cyprus - totally to ourselves. According to Giles Coren, writing in The Times on September 12th 2012 about his stay at the Anassa Hotel, just a few hundred metres along the beach from the villa 'And what a bay. What a beach. I have never been anywhere in the world so top end and modern where the views were over empty sea, virgin beach and barely developed hills (which are protected so won't get spoiled)' That's some accolade! And its the same views and beach which our guests enjoy. So obviously, we agree wholeheartedly!!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time; Latchi is a great location and the Villa exceeded our expectations. We could find nothing to concern us at all. Everyone had plenty of space; it was kitted out extremely well and was in a great location. It was our first visit to Cyprus and we had such a good time that we may possibly go back again next year. If we do, Gladiolous 2 will be at the top of of our list! Best regards and thanks Chris & Michele Thurgill
If you are looking for an upmarket holiday villa in Cyprus then look no further! This beautifully appointed villa is in a lovely peaceful area, not far from a quiet beach, restaurants in local villages and the Akamas Mountains.
This is a wonderful place to de-stress and yet has numerous possibilities to be busy. We hired a fabulous boat, went quad biking and drove a buggy up to the end of the peninsular over rugged terrain. We had a mix of great fun and quiet time.
We appreciated the outside terrace, and opportunities to set in various parts of the garden, not least enjoying our bbq'd food!
There is an extremely good folder of information provided, offering every piece of local information that you could require. (including the many recommended restaurants - and we tried a few!).
Would recommend this property to all. A car would be required.
We had a very relaxing two weeks at Gladiolous 2. The villa met our needs very well - the pool, as you might expect, got a lot of use (two girls 14 and 10). Many hours were spent on the outdoor sofas, which are shielded from excessive sun and wind by an excellent canvas screen. Despite it being August in Cyprus we never felt too hot.
I still can't believe how empty the local beach was. We didn't quite have it to ourselves, but nearly! I understand that the weekend after Ascension tends to be the time that Cypriots return to work, and we would bear that out.
Highlights: the fresh air of Troodos (a couple of hours in the car), renting a speedboat from Latchi, meals at Molos and Yiangis and Peter (our two favourite restaurants in Latchi) and, finally, sitting by the pool doing nothing!
The property is excellent & very well maintained excellent place to relax. Could do with some sort of blockage doing in the upstairs bathroom as the toilet & sink block easily this isn't caused by toilet roll being put down the toilet as we used the bins to dispose of this. The internet is a bit slow sometimes but other than that this villa is excellent and we would like to thank Peter & Sue for letting us stay in there wonderful villa. Can't praise Andrea & Paul enough from Latchi Luxury villas they give an excellent service always there on hand with any problems sorted we would have booked again next year for our third year here but our dates which we wanted were booked up so hopefully 2018 we may return Thanks again for a super Hols everyone involved
Chris & Steve
The villa had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The beach was just a short walk away but far enough to provide privacy and quiet when we need it. There was plenty of space for us to relax and the pool provided lots of entertainment. The local village Latchi was a short drive with a viarity of restaurants and a picturesque harbour. In Polis there was a small bakery with and ice cream shop next door. All in all a perfect holiday and we will definitely be going again.
Es war ein traumhafter Urlaub. Wunderschönes Haus. Top Lage.
Drei Minuten zum Meer. Sehr ruhige Gegend. Guter Ausgangspunkt um die Gegend zu erkunden. Ein Fahrzeug sollte allerdings sein. Ansprechpartner vor Ort (Andrea), sehr freundlich und Hilfsbereit. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.
We loved it so much, that we had already started talking and planning our return before we had left to come home.
Everything you could want and so much more. Well kept, and so easy to enjoy.
Only 50 minutes’ drive from Paphos airport, but a world away from the rat-race of the busy resorts, this modern, luxurious villa is peaceful yet very accessible. Set in its own secluded, landscaped gardens below the Akamas hills with stunning views across Chrysochous Bay, it is just 5 minutes’ drive from Latchi marina with its promenade of fish tavernas. The ancient town of Polis with its popular pedestrianised square filled with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants is just 10 minutes away.The villa is situated just 300 metres (less than 5 minutes’ walk) from an unspoilt beach with beautiful clear water, widely recognised as the best on Cyprus. Asprokremos beach is one of the least crowded on Cyprus, and you can gaze out over the sparkling, calm waters or watch splendid sunsets over Cape Amaoutis and its offshore islets.
It's location is ideal for an early morning swim before breakfast (the sea remains warm until November) and the beach is one of the few remaining breeding places of the 'Caretta Caretta' protected sea turtle. The exclusive, world class Anassa Hotel, with its luxury facilities is a 5 minute stroll along the beach in one direction and a traditional beach taverna is the same distance in the other direction. The Akamas National Park is immediately behind the villa; backed by a rugged spine of hills, covered with pine and juniper trees. Along its shores are southern Cyprus’s only empty beaches, and from the trails in the hills are some of the finest coastal views in Cyprus. There’s excellent snorkelling off its rocky shores. It also offers a diverse selection of wildlife, migratory birds and flora. In the spring the rocks are covered in wild cyclamen and other alpine flowers. Nearby are the famous Baths of Aphrodite, the goddess’s mythical bathing pool. Around the spring feeding the pool radiates a network of walking trails including the Fontana Amorosa, a 6-km (4-mile) which winds along rocky slopes by the edge of the sea, overlooked by pine-covered slopes with many perfect opportunities for a cooling plunge in the sea. Scattered in the hills behind the villa are many interesting old villages to explore such as Drouseia, one of the region’s prettiest villages, with graceful old stone houses standing above steep lanes overlooked by the limestone crags of Agios Georgios. The Akamas is widely recognised as one of the most attractive and least spoilt parts of Cyprus. See:
If you’re looking for a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, enjoy swimming, sailing, fishing and diving in turquoise lagoons and sheltered coves or simply relaxing by your own private pool or on the beach below, this villa is probably just right for you.
