Overview

About the property

This beautiful cabin that we refer to as "The Ponderosa," is located on the edge of the Kaibab forest, which provides our guests with a stunning view.

It has a full kitchen, 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms include 1 king & 2 queen beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots & pans.

On the north & east sides of this relaxing retreat is the forest, along with a picnic table, BBQ grill (charcoal) & fire ring with patio chairs.

For more than 6 guests, we provide an air-mattress.

We call it 'The Ponderosa' because it's surrounded by tall Ponderosa pines. Given that Arizona has the largest spread of this particular, highly desired tree in the U.S., we thought this title would be very appropriate.

Looking east on a quiet evening, especially during a full moon, the Elk come in so close you can hear them pull the grass up. You may also hear the coyotes howling at night, in the far distance gathering up their pack.

We provide two TV's & a DVD player. Nature provides much more than we possibly could.

Please note that there are four beautiful cabins on site that are different sizes. All are unique and beautiful. This provides the perfect opportunity to bring families and friends together for reunions or other events.

The Ponderosa has a maximum occupancy rate of eight people. Any requests for four wheelers, trailers, RV's, or pitched tents must be discussed and approved by the Property Manager. Extra fees may apply.

This is a No-Smoking property.

Pets are considered, however we asked that you keep "4 on the floor" as we say in our house. Pets are not allowed on furniture or bedding. Also, please pick up after them outside. We usually allow one small to medium size dog. No vicious breeds. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

This property is professionally managed by Kathryn Duncan, Owner & Designated Broker of KD Prime Properties.

Nice area, beautifully decorated, had just about everything we needed!! Grand Canyon--breathtaking!

My family spent 4 days here. Our family consisted of husband and me, our two adult children, and our two teenage children. This house was clean and comfortable, and decorated beautifully. We visited the Grand Canyon and several other sites, and my husband and boys hiked Kendrick Mountain. The cabin was a ways out of town, and so we shopped in Flagstaff for groceries before we went out. There aren't too many restaurants and activities close, so make plans accordingly. We did enjoy going to the little Route 66 store at the corner :) We also enjoyed the Go Carts down the road near Williams. This house does not have Air Conditioning, and it got into the mid 80's, so it was warm if you were there during the afternoons. The mornings and evenings were beautiful and almost chilly though! The one downside was that there was no wifi, and the 4G on our phones was useless so far out, so we couldn't search the internet for local places and things to do. That was the only bummer.

Overall we were satisfied with the home and enjoyed our time there. My husband was amazed to see the bull that wandered into the yard. We tried to make friends with him but he wasn't interested. We highly recommend a trip 2 hours north to Antelope Canyon near Page. It is an expensive tour but worth it. And of course the Grand Canyon was as beautiful as it was when I visited it with my parents when I was a teenger! We had planned to visit Bearizona but ran out of time. Maybe next time..

My family loved our stay there.

Very nice, clean and quiet property. Backyard connects a forest. A hour from Grand Canyon. Lots of places to go nearby. The canbin is 20 minutes from Flagstaff, which is a very youngster and a little hippie town with many nice little shops; and 30 minutes the other way from Williams, where there was a Safeway.

This is a good place to stay if u visit Grand Canyon. We didn’t go in the Canynon everyday. There were just so many pretty views everywhere. We went to see Petrified Forest, which was really cool as well, and saw Colorado Canyon just by exploring by pulling off the road.

My kids loved the Cabin. We had fire every night. They didn’t want to come back to our regular home. 😊?.

Our family had a very nice time seeing the area from our home base at the Ponderosa. Enjoyed the historic Route 66 store close by as well.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice review Diane. Happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! I just wanted to clarify that this is a log built cabin and not a trailer so that future guests don't get confused when it's referred to as a "double-wide". Warm Regards, Tara, KD Prime Properties
