The “Cottage degli Ulivi” is an ideal place to relax with your family in a private but not isolated setting, in touch with nature and far away from the stresses of daily life.
The cottage is surrounded by the ancient olives trees of Como and enjoys all day sunshine. The large garden, featuring ping pong, darts, horseshoes, croquet, badminton and other games, is a wonderful safe play space for children. Pets are welcome too!
The lakefront, with its restaurants, swimming areas and the spectacular Villa Balbianello, is just a 10-minute walk down a quiet pedestrian walkway. There is a convenient ferry station at the lakefront providing easy access to Bellagio and the numerous other popular Como lakeside villages.
In the mountains immediately behind the cottage, there are hiking trails leading up to the Santuario della Beata Vergine del Soccorso, a UNESCO heritage site, to the remote Abbey of San Benedetto and to countless other locations offering breathtaking views down onto the lake.
The property, arranged on one floor, can host 6-7 persons and features:

The living room and master bedroom feature large French doors, offering lovely views of the garden and the lake and mountains beyond. The main open space living area has been newly renovated and features wooden parquet flooring throughout.
Access to the house is a short walk through the pleasant streets of the medieval old town. Public car parking is about 300 metres in distance. Persons with mobility challenges should note that the last part of the walk to the house is uphill. We provide free luggage service on arrival and departure.
One of the most beautiful and romantic residences of lake Como, Villa del Balbianello overlooks an enchanting wooded promontory, at the extreme point of the Dosso di Lavedo, which plunges into the waters of the lake forming a small peninsula. If you enjoy walking, It is easily reachable by foot from the cottage. The enchanting Villa Balbianello has been chosen as a location for a number of films, including Star Wars Attack of the Clones and James Bond Casino Royale.
BELLAGIO AND VILLA MELZI
Reachable by short ferry ride from the terminal on the lakefront in front of the cottage. Called the “Pearl of the Lake”, Bellagio’s world class hotels and restaurants provide the perfect place to plunge into the lake’s famous panorama. The village is characterised by centuries-old buildings, stone lanes and picturesque cobbled stairways filled with shops showcasing the finest Italian wares.
Villa Melzi is one of the most famous villas on lake Como. It was conceived as a summer home in a neoclassical style typical of the first decades of the XVIII century. The architect Giocondo Albertolli planned it for Francesco Melzi d’Eril, vice president of the Italian Republic and great friend of Napoleon. A perfect example of neoclassical style, Villa Melzi is surrounded by enchanting gardens with century-old rare and exotic trees and classical statues. The Villa and its gardens, today a national monument, are privately-owned but partially open to the public.
Small and only island the deep waters of Lake Como, Comacina Island is a green and wooded cliff in an inlet of the western coast of the lake. The stretch of water between the island and the coast, dotted with the sails and masts of the boats moored in peaceful waters, is always been known as Zoca de l’Oli: calm and smooth waters like the oil that is still home-made from the olive trees grown on the area. For its historical relevance, its important archeological remains, its landscape and tourism value, the island represents an essential and significant place to visit during your lake Como holiday.
Easily accessible by foot from the cottage, the greenway is a lovely walkway going through the villages of Colonno, Sala Comacina, Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo and Griante. Some sections of the walk go up the hill while other sections are along the lake Como. This enchanting walk allows you to discover the peculiarities of the area: from the lake views to the colourful old villages, from rural sights to beautiful gardens.
MADONNA DEL SOCCORSO
A lovely hike that can again be reached directly from the cottage. The various parts of the Sanctuary were built at different times, starting with the 16th century main building. It is located 400 meters above sea level in the town of Ossuccio, with a fabolous view of the center of the lake. The famous Viale delle Cappelle leads to the Santuario.
Villa Carlotta in neighbouring Tremezzo is a place of rare beauty, where masterpieces of nature and art live together in perfect harmony in over 70.000 square metres of gardens and museum. The beautiful villa was built at the end of XVII century by the marquis Giorgio Clerici Sommariva’s heirs sold the villa in 1843 to Princess Marianne of Nassau, Albert’s of Prussia wife, who gave it as a present to her daughter Carlotta on the occasion of her wedding with Georg II of Saxen-Meiningen.
