My wife and I rented the place for about a week last summer and could not have been happier. The house and location are as beautiful as they appear in the pictures, and the owner of the house is extremely responsive and helpful. The beach is a knockout, and great for swimming, paddling, body surfing (house includes some sea kayaks, boogie boards etc.). Inside the house, you never forget you are on the beach, with exposures to the ocean and up and down both sides of the beach, but plenty of privacy because there is not a nearby public access point, and because of the width of the beach. Great kitchen for cooking, hanging out and relaxing, and terraces on every level. The rooftop is mind blowing, and the town and several fun restaurants are nearby. Loved it, and hope to return!
I have stayed at this property multiple times and it is simply beautiful and perfect in every way. The location is great and relatively secluded and open. The roof top views are stunning. Hot tub on roof is a big plus. The house is very well kept. The open windows in the living room provide great views and lots of light. You avoid the Route 27 madness in other Hamptons locations. The owners are lovely people and very responsive. The pictures on the site do not do the actual location justice. I recommend this location without reservation. A+
Everything was beautiful in this house. The beach area was very private, there was some distance between neighbors. Amazing Views. The Only downfall of the trip was that we stayed during the fourth of July and their was unexpectedly not one firework that went off in the entire area! I figured we would have had a good show from the amazing roof top deck! Also, wish there was more than one fully functioning tv in the house for rainy days and late nights!
Well appointed "Scandinavian" design house right on the water. The roof top deck is a practical and creative idea for a beach house! Would love to return.
Our family rented this house for a week in August. The house was not well cleaned, is on a dangerous beach, and the owner seems like a scam artist. It is MUCH smaller than the way it appears in the pictures, and you can’t use the fireplaces. We have rented many houses (including a fantastic one the week before in East Hampton) and have never had such a bad experience. Run, do not walk, away from this house!!!
When we arrived at the house at 4pm, the house smelled like dirty feet. Most towels were unwashed, and the flustered cleaner was still there trying to finish cleaning. There was no room for the food we brought because the fridge/cabinets were packed with the owners’ food. The cleaner could not manage to dry the towels in the tiny dryer, so she took them all home with her to dry at her house overnight – so we didn’t have clean towels for that night/the next morning. The house manager couldn’t be bothered to meet us at the house when we arrived, so it was lucky that the cleaner was still there to let us in. The microwave started shooting sparks when we tried to pop popcorn, and the surround sound didn’t work, but the house manager couldn’t fix either thing the day after we arrived, when he finally showed up. He also told us that the ocean in front of the house was dangerous, and that people drowned nearby from the undertow!!!
In spite of this bad start, the owner kept $1,750 of our security deposit. He said that the sink in the bathroom that my 70 year old mother had been using had cracked, even though she certainly did not remember ever cracking the sink. (A contractor friend of mine told me that sinks do crack over time but are usually not anyone’s fault). Also, the owner charged us for a kid’s puzzle that was glued together (even though we never used glue while we were there) and for extra cleaning above the exorbitant amount they had already charged us. I was the last to leave the house, and we left it almost as clean as it was when we arrived! We even spent time laundering towels so that the people who arrived after us would have clean towels to use. When I asked the owner for more details on these supposed “expenses”, he refused to provide them or answer any of my emails. Instead he told me to get reimbursed from the insurance company. This honestly seems unethical. I would HIGHLY recommend that prospective renters find a cleaner/better managed house on a safer beach with a more honest owner.
We have enjoyed two stays at this beautiful beach home. Right on the beach, very quiet area, great for families. Quogue is a very low key town, away from the crowds.
