Guestbook comments from the owner

The children enjoyed playing in the garden and taking in the fresh air. A home away from home in the perfect setting. Thank you for a great stay and making the holiday unforgetable. We will miss the greenery and the British fresh air and outdoors, upon our return to sunny Dubai.

Not to worry............we will be back soon.

Many thanks and our warmest regards.

Simply lovely

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 young kids) stayed at Vinces Barn for 6 weeks. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well maintained during our stay. The property had everything we needed for a long term stay as we only came with a suitcases of clothes. The owners are a wonderful couple who we enjoyed getting to know. Our kids loved going to see the chickens every day and getting farm fresh eggs. We recently moved to the area and Vinces Barn was used as our temporary residence until our permanent house became available. We can't say enough wonderful things about the house, garden, area, and the owners. The property was in a great location close to Colchester (20 min drive) and beaches at Frinton-on-Sea (30 min drive). We will definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

A good place for families.

  • 4 of 5

The house is very spacious. Everything was fine during our stay except that we would have preferred longer heating hours in the evenings. One could not control the timing as it was in a locked cupboard.

It would also be helpful, especially in the winter months, to have some implements to operate the fireplace.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback, we will look into your suggestions with regards to the small details. Once again our apologies for the delay in refunding the deposit and complications with regards to pricing, unfortunately for this we have to rely on the website operator and have little influence in always getting this correct. You should have received your deposit refund and again it was a pleasure to have you to stay.

Lovely meet up spot!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time! 2 families with 4 children under 5 years of age in our group. All bedrooms have bathrooms, and living area is a lovely size, so we didnt feel cramped at all.

A very happy weekend!

A super venue for Christmas with the family

  • 5 of 5

The size of the barn was something of a surprise. The accommodation is very spacious, yet we felt cosy and very comfortable throughout our stay. Everything was very clean and tidy and we were left treats of farm fresh eggs and christmas chocolates as a welcome gift.

We were looking for somewhere to have our Christmas with my mother who is unable to climb stairs and was delighted to find Vince's Barn within easy travelling distance from her home. My husband and I had come up to Essex from Hampshire and brought everything for Christmas with us in one car (quite a feat!), but were delighted to find such a well equipped kitchen. Christmas celebrations were a great success and we were able to have family members to stay together who would normally not have been able to. Additional camp beds are to be found in the bedrooms which would increase the flexibility further if required. There was plenty of parking space for our visitors throughout the festivities.

We were greeted on arrival and shown around the building and told how to turn the heating up or down. Our initial correspondence with the owner was also most helpful. Altogether, a very good find. I would recommend it to others looking for comfortable accommodation.
