About Patricia Kolean and Scott Berry
We lived in lower Michigan always near Lake Michigan while snowmobiling and ATVing in and around Grand Marais. We looked at several places for a vacation home to share with others who love the outdoor sports or natural quiet with space to stretch and relax.

Our new favorite place!
Our adult group of 6 found the accommodations to be wonderful, and the home/property to be very well maintained. We have been vacationing in Grand Marais (3 couples) for over 10 years and we will continue to rent this property for as long as it is available. Due to scheduling (and life), we did not get to interact with the owners very much, but when we did we found them to delightful! VERY difficult to find big comfy beds, TWO bathrooms, wooded seclusion, close proximity to town or wilderness and pretty much everything else you may need. RARE FIND!
Thank you for letting us and others know how pleased you were to stay in our home.
Nice home, great location!
This home came as advertised. We had six guys staying here for a four wheeling trip and its a perfect location. Close to the Forestry School, Pictured Rocks and all the northern UP has to offer. Kitchen was ready for cooking with all the dishes, pans, utensils etc you would need. A nice bonfire pit in the backyard too. Plenty of room to park trailers and our Jeeps. We had a great time!
Some critical observations:
Front door could use better access, but side door was great.
Sleeps six, but two of those are on couches, however the couches are so deep they are like beds!
All in all a great place to stay in and around Grand Marais.
Thank you for your review.
Cozy and comfortable.
We had a great time in Grand Marais at the red brick house. Thanks Scott and Pat, the house was cozy and comfortable.
Thank you for your review.
Quiet and secluded
It's a nice, welcoming home. There isn't central air but the fans helped and it gets a lot cooler at night anyway. The beds are very comfortable and we were able to hang out and cook and relax. It's close to the beach and a lot of beautiful nature. We would stay here again. The couch smelled a lot like cat which bothered my husband's allergies. Thank you for all the conveniences and sharing your home with us.
We thank you for all your review comments. Sorry for the allergy discomforts. We stopped allowing renters to bring pets for the very reason you mentioned. Professional leather cleaning has been done.
Family of Six didn't love it
Seventies decor, plywood flooring in one room. There was a very nasty sink scrubber left for us to use for dishes that was wet and looked moldy. We did not use it. I am very surprised that there are such positive reviews for this place.
We thank you for your comments and are sorry for your disappointment in our home. We hope you loved the area and will check back with us next year.
Fantastic Family Fun Foray
What a cozy place to stay. We had such a relaxing visit. The cabin was spacious and felt like home when we walked in. Loved the over-sized furniture in the living room. The bedrooms were cozy and neat. The entryway kept sandy shoes out of the living area and kept fishing equipment out of the way. It was far enough away from town to get a view of deer in the front yard and close enough to go into town for a bite when we weren't cooking in the fully appointed kitchen. We loved the back yard that had lots of trees decked out in fall colors. We'll tell friends about this gem.
We are glad you enjoyed our home. thanks for sharing your experiences with our future customers and your friends.
