This property is ideal for those visitors arriving from far away looking to relive the memories of their Ramsgate past or simply to begin to get to know this surprising little town Ramsgate. It's snuggled in at the top of the building, a few flights of stairs to negotiate (4), is homely, sweet and looks out towards the sea. The street it is situated on is beautiful and one of Ramsgate's oldest and historical streets. Addington Street used to be a thoroughfare of local retailers; fishmongers, butchers, bakers and I presume, candlestick makers. A little way down the road from the apartment is The Queen Charlotte. This is undoubtedly the best pub in Ramsgate. The landlord Nigel is rock on and they have many fun nights there with a great sample of local and far reaching beers. Try it out.

Beautiful apartment in fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful apartment with lovely views towards the harbour. The apartment has a real homely feel and incorporates a subtle seaside design which runs through the entire property. Small detailed inclusions give a luxury feel to this historic gem. The location of the apartment is perfect as it is steps away from the Royal harbour where cute cafe and specialities shops can be found. Within easy walking distant to the town centre which boost many eateries shops and bars, this really is a great apartment and I can highly recommend it.

Perfect for a weekend getaway

Lovely property perfectly located with water views. It was immaculately clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and the beds and linens were wonderful with White Company toiletries. We had a wonderful stay.

Charming, lovely and central.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this apartment for a weekend as a family and were delighted with our choice! We loved the individual charm of the period property with its large sash windows and the decor was tasteful, relaxing and felt very boutique.

The open plan kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for preparing weekend breakfasts and snacks in between eating out at Ramsgate's brasseries and bistros, and the lounge was very welcoming and cosy after a day out walking around the marina and on the beach. Having Sky TV felt like home from home in the evenings.

The children made the most of the twin room, complete with a teddy on each pillow and a DVD player, and we were very comfortable in the plush peaceful attic bedroom.

With separate shower cubicle and bath the bathroom was wonderfully bright and airy with a lovely big sash window.

The apartment is a just a few minutes stroll away from the marina and very well placed. All in all a lovely apartment in a great spot and we will definitely go back again soon.

Schöne, gepflegte Ferienwohnung mit schwieriger Parksituation

  • 4 of 5

Insgesamt jedoch absolut empfehlenswert.

Thanet is renowned for the quality of its beaches, and Ramsgate has some of the best in the area. Ramsgate Main Sands, situated a stone’s throw from the Royal Harbour, has been awarded a Blue Flag – a tribute to the cleanliness of its water, its safety record and its range of facilities. Hire out a deckchair and dig your toes into the soft sand.

Scenic Pegwell Bay is a National Nature Reserve and a great place for spotting birds. Curlews, oyster catchers and sanderlings all call Pegwell Bay home.

Viking Bay, just around the corner in Broadstairs, is, with its donkey rides, sticks of rock, and Punch and Judy shows, a throwback to the classic age of seaside holidays and makes for a fantastic day out.

East Kent is renowned for its numerous golf courses. Within 20 minutes of Ramsgate you will find two famous links courses – Prince’s G.C and Royal St. George’s G.C, host to golf’s prestigious 2011 Open Championship.

Canterbury G.C and North Foreland G.C are also in close proximity, while you may wish to visit the excellent driving range and nine-hole course at the Manston Golf Centre.

You can play tennis free of charge at the three courts on Spencer Sq – once the home of Vincent Van Gogh - or enjoy a workout followed by well-deserved sauna or steam-room session at the Ramsgate Sports Centre.

An excellent way of discovering Ramsgate’s attractions – and those nearby – is to take the Viking Coastal Trail. The 27-mile long trail, divided into six themed routes, takes in some of Thanet’s many places of interest, so put on your walking boots or jump on a bike, and set off for a day of exploring.

Along the way you can see the Viking ship Hugin which commemorates the Viking landings here in AD449. Also, you could visit the Minster Abbey, build in 1027 and reckoned to be the oldest inhabited property in the land.

And the beautiful, bright-white North Foreland Lighthouse is a sight to behold. It was also the last manually operated lighthouse in the country, finally converting to automatic operation in 1998.

On the seafront you will find Ramsgate Marina and the Royal Harbour. The Royal title was bestowed upon the Harbour by King George IV in 1821. Surrounded by stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture, the Harbour front is a hive of activity.

Here, discover Ramsgate’s rich nautical history at the fascinating Ramsgate Maritime Museum, or take a trip out to Goodwin Sands or the Stour Estuary and visit the resident seals.

And if there is anything else you wish to know about the town you’ll find the Ramsgate Tourism Office here too.

After all this activity, sit back and embrace Ramsgate’s cosmopolitan café culture. Relax in one of the sea-facing cafés or restaurants, watching the boats come and go in the marina and admiring the skies that J.M.W Turner described as the loveliest in all of Europe.

Come and visit our vibrant, charming town. Whether you are looking to discover fascinating places, or simply wish to relax, a Ramsgate holiday will have the answer.
