About Tom Uter
My late wife and I built this house. I am a retired senor (70 something) and enjoy this house and the surrounding area. I also enjoy traveling near and far as well as sharing the house with others looking for an idealistic Southern California vacation setting.
Tom Uter purchased this House in 1999

Lovely house with a fine collection of folk art. Ocean breeze. Fenced shady patio for us and dog.
Moonlight Beach nearby. Owner Tom great! He provides a blue book of local interests. Our favorites, besides Moonlight Beach and dog-friendly Cardiff Beach, were the Yogananda’s meditation garden on the Pacific, original Self-Realization Fellowship, and the San Diego Botanical Gardens. Both beautiful. Even though during a heat wave, the house and patios were wonderfully breezy and cool. Great restaurants in town but kitchen is very well appointed. House has two separate wings. Great for our guests! Pricey but only 6 hours away from hot, hot, hot Phoenix. Loved every minute of our month stay. Thanks,Tom!
Lovely home to enjoy Encinitas
My husband and I were relocating to Encinitas and needed a long term rental. The home has all the amenities you could need for a short or long term stay. Cookware, charming dinnerware, grill etc. There is a lovely fountain in the front courtyard that was great background noise throughout the day. The location is perfect. It's only a few minutes to downtown Encinitas, the Sunday Farmers Market, Moonlight Beach, San Diego Botanical Gardens and the I5 if you need to head into San Diego or go to Carslbad. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable home in Encinitas.
Spring Break Family Reunion
My family members came from France, Bellingham WA, and Eugene OR to visit my sisters family in Encinitas.
We were absolutely thrilled with the level of comfort, charm, and amenities at Tom's home. We had everything we needed to cook family meals and a lovely big table out on the back patio or inside. Tom even has a BBQ and one of those torches used for keeping you warm at outdoor restaurants. I loved the way that the bedrooms sliding doors opened up to the front patio area and you could view the ocean while sipping your morning coffee. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe too. Tom and his wife had collected many beautiful pieces of art and I enjoyed looking at them. Tom also allowed us to use his hot tub, which was very nice in the evening. Tom also left children's books and toys accessible for my boy to play with. Although we had 6 people staying at the house, none of us felt too crowded, as there were many areas to hang out in. Toms place is very close to the I5(although I don't remember hearing traffic noise)....easy to get to Legoland and go into San Diego and it is just a short drive into Encinitas and the beach.Tom gave us his phone number and was always very quick at responding. I would recommend staying here to anybody and my family certainly intends to stay here again during our next reunion!! Thank you Tom!
