Cute cottage with most of the comforts of home

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here for Marine boot camp graduation, so we spent most of our time on Parris Island. When we first walked in, it had a damp, musty smell but we ran the dehumidifier nearly constantly, which cleared the air very nicely. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware, although it doesn't have a dishwasher. The bed was comfortable and the ceiling fan a nice feature. The bathroom is small but adequate. The mattress on the pullout sofabed was very uncomfortable, so our 18 year old son slept on the couch. The mattress might be adequate for young children. There is no door between the bedroom and hallway, so not as much privacy as we would have liked. No closet, but hooks and hangers are provided, with plenty of drawer space. Although a pass to the state park is included, the beach and light house are currently closed due to last year's hurricane. Overall, however, this little cottage met our needs and is very conveniently located to Parris Island. And Nadine very graciously allowed us late checkout so our new Marine could come back to shower after graduation. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially for couples.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed staying at the cottage and found it to be a great location. We could ride our bikes 1 mile to the Spanish Moss Trail and we could walk just a few blocks to the marina and town.

3rd times a charm!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd time staying here (1 time was in the other cottage) and each time the stay has been wonderful. These cottages are so convenient and have everything that you need. The host is always helpful and responsive. Be sure to bring your bikes as you are SO CLOSE to downtown it takes you fewer than 5 minutes to get there.

Cute perfect place for a couple!

  • 4 of 5

Since we were only in town for grandsons graduation from the Marine Corps, we spent very little time in the cottage. However, it was a perfect little place!! Very clean and appeared to have any kind of item you might need for the kitchen, cleaning, etc. The only thing we thought as suggestions would be a door on the bedroom. We had one other adult with us who slept on the sofa so we didn't have a problem with it, but people might want to know in advance if they travel with another couple who would sleep in the living room. The other adult was my adult son and he choose not to open the sofa bed and just sleep on the sofa. Therefore we found no other extra blankets or pillows so we gave him the quilt from our bed and he used the sofa pillows. So we were all fine, and it was not really a big deal. The other thing is there is not a closet. We did realize there was a rack with a couple hooks in the hallway, but not a closet to hang things on hangers. However at least there was an ironing board and iron for use to iron clothes that we were not able to hang up. Because there was little time we decided not to use the outdoor grill, but the side porch was not to inviting. Looks worn, and the table and chairs were not clean or inviting to want to sit out there. The front porch on the other hand was GREAT to sit on for about an hour or so of free time that we had. Overall I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a sweet little place to stay in Beaufort.
