Private Cabin --- 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2 ), Hot Tub, and Fireplace
About Tammy Capps
Tammy is from North Carolina and has directed non-profit youth programs and a local Americorps program for most of her career. Tammy has worked to be a good steward of the land, these mountains and our mother earth: growing her own fruits and vegetables, preserving them for the winter, recycling and composting all garbage, trying to reuse instead of buying new when possible. Efforts are always made to buy local and American made products. After a great deal of planning and hard work, Tammy is excited to invite you for a luxurious, romantic stay in the cabin!
Why Tammy Capps chose Candler
Why the Owner Chose Asheville: Tammy planned and renovated this cabin with her own two hands over the last twenty years, while continuing to work full-time. She started the project with the goal of renovating a cabin with a small carbon footprint and utilizing many materials from the mountain. WOW, what a project! With lots and lots of hard work and the loving support of her family the cabin is ready for guests. Why the property? Tammy spent most of her childhood in this area and fell in love with the beauty and majesty of these mountains in the Pisgah National Forest at an early age. When looking to move back to the area and purchase a home in 1991, she would only look at homes in the Candler/Upper Hominy area believing this to be the most beautiful community in the Asheville area. Twenty years ago Tammy began to clear land and landscape the 4-acre property. The project was worth it---she built a mountain oasis beyond belief.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin provides all of the modern comforts in a peaceful wooded setting at the base of Mt. Pisgah. The yearround views of the mountain through the large glass windows are spectacular. Couples can enjoy both the sunrise and the sunset over the mountain tops. The property is a certified wildlife habitat proving the four basic elements needed for wildlife to thrive: food water, cover and places to raise their young. The wooded canopy of oaks, poplar and maple cover the mountain view during the summer months, and provide cool shade for relaxing outside on the decks, gazebo or in the hammock beside the waterfall. The cabin is positioned so that passive solar assists the heating and cooling.

The most ROMANTIC
We absolutely loved this please. It is so perfect for a couple! We wanted a small, charming, mountainous cabin within a an hour drive of anything to do. We picked the right place. The inside and the outside of the cabin captured beautiful views. We were so relaxed and happy. We came back early from our adventures each day to enjoy our beautiful cabin. We highly recommend this! Loved every minute!
Another blue ridge memory
Have been exploring all regions of the BRP for the last 10 years and this was the last parcel for my husband and I. The property was a delight.
Very private, beautiful views. Check in process was very easy. Appreciated the use of the grill and fire pit.
If you are looking for a peaceful retreat to get away from it all, look no further than this lovely cabin. We particularly enjoyed waking up too beautiful, lush hilltop views and falling asleep with cool mountain breezes. The cabin was so delightful we found ourselves bringing food back to enjoy more time in the space rather than going into town for dinner. The cabin is also equipped with all kinds of thoughtful items to help you enjoy your stay, from an extra backpack for hiking to spare phone chargers to a full garden to supplement your dinner. We can't wait to come back!
Cabin was everything VRBO published! The solitude was so refreshing! I loved the scenic view of the mountains, the quiet and the relaxing atmosphere ! The cabin was clean and very comfortable! I truly enjoyed the plants and the small rock pond inside as well as the plants along the deck! The garden had fresh tomatoes, green beans and beets for our use and the grape vines still had quite a few grapes left for us to enjoy!
Awesome Private Retreat
Overall an amazing experience, beautiful location and views of both sunset and sunrise inside and outside of house. Tammy was super responsive and the process was very easy, and we had an amazing time! The only minor issue was that we didn’t realize the hot tub was on a different level than the main deck and accessible only via the driveway, but once we bought some flip flops it was much easier to use the tub and enjoy the amazing views!
Only 16 miles from downtown Asheville, the cabin is located beside the Pisgah National Forest. Hiking trails are abundant only minutes away on the Blue Ridge Parkway. March to November you can enjoy breakfast at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway. A favorite downtown shopping spot in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Waynseville is Mast General Store. Our favorite restaurants are the Admiral and Curate', you must make reservations early though. Other great places to dine in downtown Asheville include Limones, Salsa, Zombra, Tupelo Honey and Mela.
