New to Powder Mountain? We highly suggest you meet at the main lodge (by the Yurt) about 9:30AM for a free orientation tour (tailored to your ski level). Hang out in the Yurt for a few minutes, to get coffee, trail maps, meet instructors, and warm up by the fire.

It took me 5 years to find all of the hidden treasures around Pow Mow! It now takes us 4 days to do every run (some with no names!) we love just once!!

About Janet Jones

We accidentally discovered Powder Mountain in 2005. We couldn't believe a place like this existed and why had we not heard about it before. We were hooked on PowMow after the first trip and now spend approximately 8 weeks every winter in this winter wonderland. At last count, we own the largest number of privately owned units at Powder Ridge Village, which are limited, so contact us if you are interested in coming to this winter playground. We are always happy to share our knowledge of the area and will do our best to make your ski vacation a success.

Why Janet Jones chose Utah

On our first visit we fell in love with the skiing @ Powder Mountain! No wait times @ the lifts. The amazing skiing in untracked powder that lasted for days. Skiing for all levels of skiers. This truly is the place for those who love to ski and spend time with friends and family. If you are looking for the nightlife activities, this is not the place for you. Powder Mountain is a laid back resort that is truly all about great powder, cozying up by the warm fireplace for dinner and a warm drink after a full day of bliss on the slopes, hitting the hot tub to soothe those happily tired muscles, then snuggle in for a good nights rest and repeat the process all over again the next day.

What makes this condo unique

This condo is at the very top of Powder Mountain. The only indoor pool and hot tubs on the mountain in a beautiful lodge with the most spectacular views. Ski Magazine also lists powder mountain as the Best Value for skiing. Over 7,000 ski-able acres of terrain with an average snowfall of 500 inches annually... This place is heaven on earth! Don't hesitate to book your vacation as these peak winter weeks do book quickly once we post. There is very limited availability for lodging on Powder Mountain.

For Powder enthusiasts!: Ski Powder Country from the Hidden Lake lift, or, the other side of the resort by taking the Sundown lift. Either way, you arrive at the access road to Powder Mountain. Take the exclusive Blue Bird bus back to the top of the mountain and do it all again. Or for something different, catch a ride on the Snowcat ($15) to the top of Lightning Ridge. From there you can ski Blue Intermediate to Black Triple Diamond terrain, back to the Paradise lift. For the more energetic, hike from Lightning Ridge to James Peak for even more awesome powder. If that is still not enough, book an all-day Powder Safari to exclusive terrain only available to Powder Safari guests! (You will get about 12-14 runs on untouched powder with about 12 new friends, a guide and a very good lunch).

Great stay - ski in/ski out!

  • 4 of 5

The place was perfect for the 6 of us. 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and dining room. We bought groceries for the time we were there so never had to go anywhere but to the lodge. There is minimal kitchen stuff, so enough for each meal for the 6 of us and a few plates for serving dishes on. There were no oils or condiments, but there was salt and pepper, so be sure to buy or bring the basic cooking supplies you'll need.

The condo staff was super nice and happy to help with anything we needed. The hot tub and pool are easily accessible with a quick walk across the street, and you can even rent movies! That was perfect for the crazy white-out day where a few of our group didn't want to ski.

It snowed 17" when we were there so we were super happy they had the plowing service. It did make the ski in/ski out a bit difficult for my mom because it was so deep, but my dad (age 72 and in good shape) got through it with minimal difficulty. It was fine for the kids (~30) and is comparable to other ski in/ski outs I've stayed in.

On the main snow day a few of us decided to get out and ski while the others were comfy and warm in the house with games and movies.

Overall, this place was great for our family's vacation. Just wish we could have stayed at Powder Mountain longer!

Owner's Response: We are thrilled you had a great stay! We have added some comments to the web page to further clarify the condiments and kitchen supplies. The front desk can usually supply any additional cookware, Crock Pots, plates and utensils that might be needed. Also, for items you may have forgotten to purchase at the grocery store, the mini-store in the Recreation Center usually has basic condiments and supplies for purchase.

Snowmobiling is aproximately a 45 minute drive over to Monte Cristo. Highly recommend spending half a day to take advantage of this recreational activity. Ice fishing is approximately 30 minutes down the mountain for fishing enthusiasts. Park City and the Olympic Park are approximately an hour and 30 minute drive from Powder Mountain. The airport is approximately an hour and 15 minutes from Powder Mountain. There is an UTA train which connects near the airport area to Ogden and from Ogden shuttle buses will bring you up the mountain for a fee if you do not want to drive. Please note, you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle during the winter months to get up the mountain.
