About William Benton
The land was purchased by my grandfather around 1907. The adjacent Mill itself was built around 1787, and some of the original beams are features of the structure. The New Home was constructed within the last few years for our father's retirement
Why William Benton chose East Orleans
It's all about location. You will have access to a private beach and Little Pleasant Bay, and you are a short drive from the public beaches, Nauset (the ocean) and Skaket (Cape Cod Bay).

Quiet hidden getaway
Very nice house in a quiet hidden area. Nice yard to move around. Next to bay where you can explore for sea life.
Thanks for staying with us Leslie and we are glad you enjoyed a little seclusion with the benefits of the bay. Thank you for taking good care of the property and we look forward to welcoming you again! Bill
The house was new, very clean, homey and meticulously decorated. There were ample closets, drawers, and cabinets. Great view. The beach was very nice and we were able to use the owners’ two kayaks which was a real bonus. The location is centrally located on the outer cape with lots of restaurants close by and activities such as fishing, whale watching and parasailing easily accessible. The owners were very helpful and remotely attentive. There was a book of information and helpful notes around the house. We had a very enjoyable time and would definitely stay there again.
Thanks so much for your kind comments and we are very happy you had a great family vacation. We look forward to having you back! Bill & Michelle
dream place in dream location
I am a little hesitant to write this glowing review ... because I want to come back soon and have nobody snatch it! The house is absolutely beautiful, new, with lots of nice architectural detail, and fits the setting perfectly. A front lawn (great for kids to play within view from the balcony) leads to stairs that go down to an essentially private beach (great for beachcombing and running) on Little Pleasant Bay (great for kayaking, sailing). Location at the elbow of the cape is ideal for us, with it being 15min from Skaket beach and 30 min to Chatham or Nauset Beach. Lots of eateries and stores within 10 min of the place ... although the place itself feels so beautifully remote. Looking forward to our next stay.
Very well maintained and perfect for 2-4 people. It is in a very quiet area and very clean inside. Everything works well and the owners are very responsive and attentive. We cannot wait to go back.
Thanks very much for your nice review Brian. We are glad you enjoyed your time and would love to have you back!

The homes are located deep in the woods, on a private road, on Little Pleasant Bay.
Please note: When using Google Earth, when you put in 43 Chestnut, the red marker is actually put to the front and right of the Mill home (45 Chestnut) next door; This home--address 43 Chestnut--is actually directly back from the red marker with the white stone parking area visible alongside the right of the home (if using VRBO map it is back to the left of the blue marker). If you zoom in on Google Earth you can also see the stairs down to the beach, an alternative path down to the beach, the water, and the beach with a higher tide water line visible in the sand. The view of the bay from the home and the home from the bay can be seen in the attached pictures.
