I'm a Portland based professional who first came to Manzanita in 1994. We checked out a lot of Oregon coast towns and immediatley came back to the village of Manzanita. It's the perfect size and when an opportunity presented itself to invest in a vacation rental in Manzanita - we jumped at the chance. After an extensive remodel, we're ready to share 3ONE8 with people that like high end finishes, modern ammenaties and casual surroundings. Me? I love to travel myself - did an around the world trip spring 2016. This selfie was a cool, little island in Thailand. Visited Australia, did the Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal, hung in U.A.E. for a bit, 2.5 weeks island hopping on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia, a weekend in Frankfurt and finished off doing a week on Harbor Island in the Bahamas. Time waits for no one; do it now.

Why Bret 3ONE8 Manzanita chose Manzanita
The vision of the 3ONE8 remodel (interior layout designed by TVA Architects of Portland, OR) was to create a hip and fresh place for our family, friends and rental guests to enjoy in our favorite coastal town, Manzanita. We've stayed at probably 20 different short term Manzanita rentals in 'the pool' over the years. It's a crap shoot out there. And it's hard to find either brand new structures or remodels. And how did the remodels turn out and what kind of furnishings are you experiencing? I love my grandmas but I wouldn't put them in charge of decorating my vacation home - and that's what I see in a lot of the rental choices out there today. Why Manzanita? Cannon Beach is popular with a great beach - and it has a lot a big hotels, some chain restaurants and businesses and not very quaint. Manzanita is just 12 miles south and is considered more of a quaint village that's less crowded yet featuring full amenities found on Laneda Avenue including; boutique shops, restaurants, coffee houses, grocery stores, spas, cafes, wine bars and more - all locally owned and operated. Where Laneda Ave. meets the ocean is an uninterrupted, dog friendly seven mile beach with awesome views of Neahkahnie Mountain to the north. Once you park your car at 3ONE8 Manzanita - everything is walkable! Other towns: Seaside, OR is great if you like strip malls, Rockaway Beach is terrific if you like kitchsky shops on busy Highway 101 and Arch Cape is quaint but lacks any type of services. Manzanita has much more of a chill vibe - more of a locals spot with less people and crowds - yet with full services. Of course we're biased - but we did our research over 20 years ago! We visited every coastal town from Astoria down to Newport over a five year period - and liked Manzanita the best for its charm, beauty, size, services, proximity to PDX and overall vibe and feel. What makes this Cottage unique
3ONE8 is great as it's 1.5 blocks to Laneda Avenue (the main strip) with plenty of shops, coffee houses, restaurants, bars, grocery stores and more. And it's a straight shot to the beach. Additionally, the verdant views out the back onto the 6th green at Manzanita Links golf course are beautiful and very private. There are no neighbors behind you and the private back yard is a great retreat. The property is one half of a duplex and your side is very private. And for the kids it's a few minutes walk to the City Park. And, S 4th Place is very quiet with little car traffic - and on windy days down on the beach we're in our own micro-climate that's well protected. Close in yet removed. It's perfect!

fantastic dog friendly apartment by the beach
Great location, easy walk to main street and beach. lovely neighborhood. peaceful, quiet place in a woodsy setting on the small town golf course. modern space with all the amenities. extra touches for our pooch as well. loved it!
Thanks, Rebecca. Terrific description. To clarify for anyone seeing “apartment” ... the unit is one half of a one story duplex. Each side is very private - the front doors are on opposite ends of the property. And each backyard is totally private separated by a fence. The other unit is a monthly minimum, modern furnished vacation rental. And Rebecca is right ... the neighborhood and street are very quiet and peaceful yet we’re just a one block walk to Laneda Avenue with all the shops. Team 3ONE8 Manzanita ~ it’s beautiful here ~

Very Clean Duplex
Clean and quiet. All appliances work great, washer and dryer are like new and very clean. Golf course in back yard adds to an entertaining and quiet atmosphere all throughout the day. Check in was easy and owner checked in on us to make sure everything was good or if we needed anything. Close to the coffee shop and restaurants in town. This place is a duplex but the backyard is not shared, it has a nice privacy fence, I would reccomend staying here for the location and the cleanliness.

Great Manzanita Rental!
Our stay couldn’t have been better in Manzanita. Brett was super nice and easy to communicate with, the house is in a great location and has been really nicely remodeled. The house was perfectly clean and set up for our stay, there’s more kitchen and bathroom amenities than most other rentals. The back yard is also super cute. I would definitely stay again and recommend this home.
Thanks Jessie for the nice write up! The girls only stayed one night after a successful Hood to Coast run over the weekend. Jessie mentions the kitchen and bath amenities - good shout out. The kitchen has a ton of spices, oils, vinegars, etc in the cupboard - and of course salt and pepper. We always have extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar on site - for basic meal prep or making a green salad. The fridge has an assortment of fridge staples supplied by us or leftover from previous guests; mustard, cocktail sauce, Tapatio!, salad dressings, ketchup, etc. We’ll toss anything that’s been there too long. And the bathroom is always equipped with shampoo/conditioner/body soap, tp, Kleenex, air spray, blow dryer ... all that stuff. And you’ll always find the unit super clean - that’s a must! Fantastic place for a Manzanita stay
Our family of 4 loved the week we spent at 3one8 - it suited us perfectly - a quiet street, only a few mins walk to the ocean and all the lovely little places on the main drag. The house was decent size and really nicely kitted out (much more modern and stylish than the other options we looked at). The outside area is also lovely - with great views onto the golf course, a sweet fire pit and good BBQ. Manzanita itself was gorgeous - amazing hikes nearby and generally a very chilled and unspoiled place. Bret was very helpful and communicative too. Highly recommended
Clean, comfortable and well-appointed!
We had the pleasure of staying at Bret’s Manzanita rental for a week. We absolutely loved the house! The backyard was amazing. We spent a lot of time reading, drinking beverages and watching the golfers in the sunshine. The kitchen was perfectly appointed. We had everything we needed to cook delicious meals. The location is excellent! The neighborhood is quiet, yet just a few blocks to the beach. I also really loved the shower and heated floors in the bathroom. We are hoping to go back next year! Stacie waited a year to stay at 3ONE8 as she booked last August for August, 2019. Glad it did’t disappoint. If you’re looking to spend time in Manzanita during summer 2020 ... book now as most units, including 3ONE8, get booked solid. And yes ... the shower is spa like with great hot water + pressure and the heated floors are the only way to travel. Team 3ONE8 Manzanita ~ it’s beautiful here ~
Cancellations: Cancellations made 60 days prior to the reserved arrival date are subject to a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made between 60 to 30 days prior to reserved arrival date are subject to half the cost of the rental fee. Cancellations made after 30 days of reserved arrival date are subject to the ENTIRE COST of the rental fee. That loss will be determined by the opportunity to re-rent the home for your reserved dates. No refunds for a shortened day.
Unlike hotels or resorts, we do not overbook in anticipation of cancellations. 3ONE8 is reserved for you alone, from the time you book your stay. As such, cancellations on short notice make it extremely difficult to rebook vacancies. For this reason, once within the cancellation period, we are unable to accommodate cancellations, change of dates or shortening of your stay without forfeit of your room charges. If this is a concern for you, we highly recommend that you consider travel insurance, which is widely available and will compensate you in the event that unforeseen circumstances disrupt your plans.
