Our family of six loves to travel, and when we discovered the vacation home option instead of hotels, we knew we wanted a rental property of our own to share with others. We hope our cottages enhance your vacation like so many homes have done for us. We love meeting and talking with people from all over, so please feel free to give us a call!- Audrey and Matt
Audrey and Matt purchased this house in 2012
We've always loved Old Town St. Charles because of its charm, fun atmosphere, and historic architecture. When we realized that there wasn't much in the way of lodging for families like ours, or larger groups wanting to stay together, we knew this home would fill that void and would be a way for us to enjoy the area even more and let other people experience it too.
The ability to walk out the front door in the morning, eat and amazing breakfast. lunch and/or dinner, shop to your hearts content, be amazed by the history and all the fun happenings, and then walk back to a great gathering place without ever getting in your car.
"We rented all 3 properties for my daughter's wedding in St. Charles. We had plenty of space for everyone and they were all so impressed with the homes. The homes were meticulously kept, and the furnishings were lovely. We were right in the middle of the historic district with shops and restaurants on our doorstep. The owners had very thoughtfully provided an array of snacks and menus for local restaurants. Although we did not make use of them, there were strollers, play pens, bouncy seats, ice chests. Upstairs were a few toys for younger children, wii games and board games for the whole family. I don't think you could find a better place to spend a few days--or longer. We are already planning a return visit with children and grandchildren. And we will most certainly be staying in the same property. It is a great base for exploring St. Louis and being able to walk locally in St. Charles and along the river. "
Our book group has been together 30 years this year and we wanted to make this year's Christmas party special . We settled on St Charles for a big dose of Christmas spirit.. Main Street Guest House And Riverfront Guest House were wonderful! Accommodations, location, every little detail looked to that made our stay so perfect. St Charles streets were alive with merriment.. we sipped wine outside by glow
Ing fires, listen to carolers, dined at lovely restarants and even took a lighte
d Cinderella coach back to our house after taking an old time gallery photo together. All on one Street! And great shopping in the morning after a great night's sleep. Thank you Audrey
This is the second time I have stayed in this house. This house is located on Main St of historic St. Charles. This house is beautiful. It is perfect for a girls trip. The owners are very friendly and the location is amazing!
This home was lovely, well refurbished and well appointed with all the amenities one could hope for. We met as a group of women reuniting after 40 years and were able to enjoy each other's company free of any intrusion or distraction. Nice restaurants, easily accessed, wonderful kitchen to cook and gab in and sleeping arrangements for all. We would have liked the house to have some extra seating for gathering around the fireplace to visit and a main floor toilet but could tell that the space was used as well as could be under the circumstances. Thank you for making this a memorable time.
We had such an enjoyable time in this home. The house is absolutely beautiful and clean. We loved all the wood in the house and could tell that a lot of work had gone into the house. There was more than enough room for our family of 5 to spend time together and also have some time on our own. Main Street St. Charles is literally out the front door with numerous shops and restaurants within walking distance. We loved the deep tub and the showers were very relaxing to use. The only thing I didn't like is that the top floor front window in the bathroom had no covering. No one on the street could see you unless you were standing right next to the window but the higher floors on some other buildings (which looked empty) and a house a street over might be able to see in, but a simple curtain could take care of that. We loved the fresh flowers and the treats left for us when we came in the house. We loved having our own parking space behind the house since the street does get packed with cars. We loved the ability to have different temperatures on each floor, so each family could sleep with the temperature that they liked. Everything you could need was at the house. There was a stroller, a baby gate and a bed rail we used with our toddler daughter and she really enjoyed the blocks and legos and also the chair that was just her size. The furniture was very comfortable and there were big TV's in each bedroom and living room as well as in the bathroom across from the shower. My daughter was able to watch Bubble guppies while taking a bath. We truly enjoyed the home and will definitely stay here again when in the area.
We loved it!!!! My granddaughter said the house was too small for all 6 of us to fit in ....she was really shocked when we walked in and she saw how much room she had to run around in!!!! Look forward to returning to this cottage again soon. Thanks again for the comfortable stay.
First off the owners Audrey and Matt were amazing to work with! I texted Audrey a few times once in the house and she responded right away! The house was amazing! My family and I loved it! My daughter and 2 nieces (4,8, and 9) loved the bunk beds and restrooms!! They were begging to take showers as soon as we got there haha! We all honestly felt like we were at home with all of us having plenty of room to do our own thing! The house was spotless and had everything in it for cooking! My little girls also loved the hot tub that lit up! I just filled it with warm water and let them swim! Also, staying right in the middle of main street was a real treat! We just opened the front door and had access to everything! We also had a ton of fun coming out at night and watching the Pokemon Go mania taking place right in front of us....we spent our evenings people watching and it was very fun! My only regret about our little trip is not staying in the guest house a little longer! We will be back for sure!- Rosie Z
Just west of St. Louis you'll find St. Charles, a river city with a unique historical perspective, beautiful sites, friendly people and a pace just a little slower than that of the big city. Founded as Les Petites Cotes (The Little Hills) by French Canadian fur trader Louis Blanchette, Saint Charles, MO grew into a thriving riverfront trading center for a young America.
Thousands passed through on their journeys westward, replenishing supplies before departing into new territory. Saint Charles is a source of historical encounter: the Lewis and Clark Rendezvous, Missouri's First State Capitol, origin of the Boone's Lick Trail and home to Daniel Boone.
The people of St. Charles have labored lovingly to preserve and share its treasured river heritage. As destination for almost one million visitors each year Saint Charles history comes alive to welcome you.
You'll find St. Charles offers first rate vacation with over 150 restaurants to choose from, and so many things to do, you may have to come back to try everything.
Experience the charm and beauty of a city that has been welcoming visitors since 1769.
