Stunning 2 Ensuite Bedroom Converted Barn Only 500m From Praa Sands Beach

A beautifully converted barn set in an idyllic rural setting just a short walk from Praa Sands beach, a beautiful sandy beach great for surfing. The stunning coastal path is also on your doorstep with magnificent walks to the harbour town of Porthleven in the East and over Praa Sands to Prussia Cove and on to St Michael’s Mount in the West. Hendra Wheal Barn is perfect for exploring the whole of West Cornwall, being equidistant between the stunning Lizard peninsular and the rugged Lands End coastline; within 15 minutes of Penzance, Helston, St Ives and Hayle. Slightly further afield are the larger towns of Truro and Falmouth, or visit the Scilly Isles accessed from Penzance by ferry or Lands End Airport by plane. Internally the barn has been sympathetically converted retaining much of its character, whilst achieving a contemporary and high quality finish. Externally the barn benefits from a small terraced area with garden table and benches and sea views; perfect for soaking up the evening sun with a glass of rosé! There is off-street parking for two cars.

Accommodation

Ground Floor: Large hand-made front door leads into the open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The contemporary and spacious kitchen is fully fitted with high spec appliances including a double oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, Belfast sink and lots of cupboard space. The living area is beautifully finished with comfortable sofas and a dining table and chairs seating 4. Leading from the kitchen is a large utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer which in turn leads into a wet room with large shower enclosure, sink and WC. The whole of the ground floor benefits from solid limestone flooring.

The hand-made wooden staircase leads up to the first floor.

First Floor: a wooden landing, designed to retain the full height of the barn in places, leads between the two bedrooms. Both bedrooms are spacious double rooms with plenty of storage, one of which can be split to create two twin beds if required. Each has a beautifully finished ensuite bathroom, with bath, sink and WC. The whole of the first floor is finished with solid oak flooring.

Outside of the property is a small terraced area with garden table and benches seating 4 people; and parking for 2 cars.

Facilities and Services

Inclusive electricity, central heating (winter only) and wifi broadband. The house is fully cleaned before your arrival and all bed linen, towels (including beach towels) and the final laundry are included in the price. High chair and travel cot available on request.

wonderful holiday

It was absolutely amazing!

The cottage is so adorable! It has a very pretty interior design and it is very cozy too so we feel like in paradise. It is situated in a calm and natural area so we could relax very well. The weather was not such good but we enjoy every minute in or around the cottage! If you think about staying here - it is the right choice!

Beautiful Barn Conversion in great location

Beautiful barn very tastefully converted. Clean and well maintained with everything you'll need to make your stay comfortable. Great base to explore Cornwall and its many attractions from.

Lovely beach a short (albeit steep) walk away if you don't fancy venturing far.

Very friendly & thoughtful hosts with Cornish Cream Tea to welcome us and lovely fresh duck eggs as an added bonus when we arrived late and were unprepared for our 1st mornings breakfast.

Only slight negative was that the wifi was unreliable and we had limited mobile reception which made it hard to keep in touch with home (maybe that's a good thing when you're on holiday! :p ) This was only a slight inconvenience however and would not deter me from visiting again or recommending this place to friends.

Beautiful barn conversion with great view

We had a great holiday in this lovely barn conversion. It was very well done and was spacious and comfortable and was well presented and clean. The descriptions are accurate and it is even nicer than the pictures suggest. The owners live next door and are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive.The front garden is a real sun trap and is sheltered from the prevailing winds although it is small and doesn't provide much space if you have children who want to play outside. The views from the garden are stunning but hide the fact that's the 500 yard walk to the beach is down a steep hill and the return journey requires some exertion but is worth it. The location is great for exploring Western Cornwall with several National Trust properties close by. St Michael's Mount is well worth a visit. There is good supermarket shopping in both Helston and Penzance for self catering .We had mixed weather as could be expected in the UK in June but had a fantastic time anyway. Roskilly ice cream is yummy and widely available, so don't miss out!

Wonderfully secluded location

Arrived to a welcome plate of scones & jam! Everything you needed for your stay was supplied. All rooms well planned out and very spacious in deed. Lovely wooden staircase as centre-piece. Great wet room! Loved every minute being there. 15 minutes walk to the beach & ideal location for touring West Cornwall. Owners very helpful. Can't thank them enough for providing a great place to stay. Hope to return soon.

A perfect Place for a vacation in Cornwall

What a wonderfull stay we had at Hendra! Almost everything perfect: Starting from the warm welcome suprise - cornish cream tea - from Trevor to Estelle up to the farewell. The Barn is very well converted, well planned and well done, apparentely by craftsmen who really understand their profession. Very good infrastructure - except maybe for the pans, which need a replacement. Hendra is a short stroll away from Hendra Beach with beautiful a walks along the beach to Praa Sands or along the coastal path. Estimated 10 People per mile on the beach (beginning of July!) make it a really peacefull beach experience.

There are so many attractions within easy driving distance of Praa Sands including: Minack Theatre, a stunning out-door theatre built into the cliffs at Porthcurno. St Michaels Mount. This is truly unique; a tiny, rocky island filled with astonishing history and natural beauty, yet still a living, working community of people. Activities include: Walking. The coastal path runs the whole of the Cornish coast, so you are never far from a footpath. Fishing. You can arrange fishing trips from many of the harbours in the area, the closest being Porthleven. Of course you can always stay put and enjoy the 1 mile of beautiful soft sandy beach at Praa Sands itself.
