HIDDEN gem, will be back.
Loved it, went for a family vacation (22 ppl total /6 children/3 were under age of 3) & everyone Loved it. Definitely a hidden gem we are planning on returning every summer for a family get away. This property has alot to offer and the owners were great! Well defiantly be return next summer. Stocked pond was defiantly a plus, and we did go for swim the walk up and down to.the lake is def a work.out . Rode the 4 wheeler up the trail to see 2 amazing waterfalls. And farm closeby. Check it out, great place to get away! Little to no cell service but all worth it for the beautiful outdoors the kids didnt miss it one bit!
Loads of beautiful and serene private space!
This is a 400 acre property and with that comes tons of private space just for yourself amidst a serene setting. There is enough space for 20 people quite easily and the cabin is very well maintained. I have to mention a word or two about the owner - one of the most accommodating property owner I have seen. Tricia was very patient and helpful in addressing every single concern of mine given that we were a pretty big group (16 of us). Thank you once again, Tricia.
Pisgah Forest is just an hour drive from this cabin. Check out the Looking Glass Waterfalls while you are there. Also, the property itself has three beautiful waterfalls around it. For us, the best part of the cabin was the camp fire location. It is set right in front of lake. The reflection of the star studded night sky in the lake, nice breeze, the company, the songs, camp fire and marshmallows - we enjoyed every bit of it and we wished that the weekend would never end!
Book this cabin without a second thought. You will have loads of memories to cherish! :)
Prefect spot for a Wedding!
My husband and I were the 1st couple to be married at Rock Creek Preserve! It was the prefect getaway for our friends and family! Plenty of room for all to be comfortable in the cabin, loft and bunk house! Everyone got a vacation! We set up the reception/ dance floor under the overhang of the loft, had the food in the cabin and did the ceremony outside. Everyone loved swimming in the pond and trips to the waterfall on the side by side! Junior was a great help and the owners were very accommodating! Parking can be tight- so I would recommend no larger than 100 guests. Our group has already made plans for a 3 year reunion there! We will forever be thankful to Tricia and her husband for allowing us to be married at their beautiful property! If you are looking for a wedding getaway- this is the spot!
Beautiful...Just what we were looking for.
My husband and I, along with several friends rented Rock Creek Preserve as an extended New Years get together. From the very start it was exactly what we wanted and more. Junior was a gracious host and welcomed some of us with a tour of the property and waterfalls and made sure to check on us daily to see if we needed anything. For our group consisting of several outdoor enthusiasts, there couldn't have been a more perfect location with the Green River close by for the kayakers and Dupont right down the road for the hikers and mountain bikers. Having access to the Polaris and all the trails was an awesome surprise as well. Everyone loved the place so much that most of us were convinced to to pay for an additional night. Thanks to Tricia and James for providing such a beautiful and fun property to rent...we will definitely be back!
Thanks! Glad y'all enjoyed it!
Spacious cabins on beautiful property
My family of 20 plus people had a wonderful time at Rock Creek Preserve. From the time we arrived and the very friendly caretaker, Junior, and his polite and helpful son, Lawrence, greeted us, we felt like we were at a home away from home. We ate, played, explored and enjoyed each others company all in one location. We caught bass and trout from the pond, sat around the campfire, found salamanders in the waterfall, toured the property on the Ranger, and enjoyed the starry night sky. We visited nearby Asheville, Hendersonville, Flat Rock, and Dupont State Forest. We all agreed that we just didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted, and wished we had another day to just stay on the property and take it all in. I would highly recommend for big groups who love the outdoors and don't need all the fancy amenities. It was a great time had by all and we'd love to go back!
Rustic Retreat - Mountain Adventure!
Staying at Rock Creek Preserve was a blast! We had a mini family reunion of 21 people (almost half children). Every single one wants to come back! It is a very special and fun place to unplug and have adventures together. Riding the mountain trails in the Polaris ATV was a huge hit! The waterfalls are stunning! Well worth the hike (or the ATV ride).
Upon arrival, a missing bunk mattress was the only minor problem. The owners Tricia and James came right out to bring us one. They were extremely apologetic but we were so glad for the opportunity to meet them. Junior, the caretaker, was also great. He brought us three dozen fresh eggs and with the help of his wonderful family, gave us a tour of their farm. We got to mingle with alpacas, goats, chickens, cows and an adorable three day old calf. It was a treat for all, especially the little ones. Although the pond was low due to a recent repair, we were still able to do some kayaking and fishing off the dock. Caught quite a few fish and saw a huge turtle!
Overall, this property is wonder-FULL, and the accommodations perfect. Be prepared and understand beforehand, the true rustic style of the bunk house which has no pluming, AC or heating. Our preteen kids loved sleeping in there! It feels like a tree house - especially up top where there is a double bunk frame for a brave couple. We had seven in the bunk house, a total of nine in "the loft" and five in the old cabin. The beds were comfortable and the three bathrooms worked well. Bunk house folks just walked across the gravel drive to use the bathroom below the loft. There is a mini kitchen in the loft and a larger, but still small kitchen in the cabin (stocked well). This worked for our big group since there is a large table in the cabin and a big porch with a swing and chairs for folks to sit and eat. For dessert we had a great time roasting marshmallows and singing around the fire pit!
The cell reception is spotty to non-existent, but that actually made our time together more special since there was no technology to distract us:) The kids didn't miss TV or video games one bit!
There are loads of places to go not far from here: Flat Rock, Ashville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Greenville, not to mention all the parks, but honestly it is such an awesome property we just wanted to stay put and explore the 400 acres.
Thank you Tricia and James for renting out such a wonderful space we had an awesome time and hope to be back soon!
