Carla Frazine purchased this cabin in 2011
Hohman Lake is a quiet, peaceful lake. The lake is restricted to property owners and their guests. Boats can't have motors with over 6 hp to avoid disrupting the relaxing atmosphere that is present.
Our favorite features of the cabin are the large, outdoor spa and the multi-level deck. Star gazing while sitting in the spa is a must. We believe our cabin has the best view of the entire lake!
We stayed in this house for a couple days to break up a trip to the St. Louis area. It fit our needs perfectly - quiet, clean, and comfortable. We'll be back again if we take this same trip in the future.
The lake house is a hidden gem, for sure. Immaculate inside and out. Gorgeous, peaceful scenery. The hot tub was amazing. We took our own kayaks and inner tubes and had a great time on the private lake. We caught several bluegill from the pier. If you need Internet access, we have Verizon and only had 3g with limited range. We had children with grandparents so that was the only reason we needed the service. We had an amazing, quiet weekend and will DEFINITELY be back. We appreciated the affordability of the lake cabin, as well. We hated to leave!!!! The owner was wonderful and has put together a binder full of neat things for couples/families to do while in the area. But, you won't want to leave the cabin. ;)
The lake house was fantastic! Quiet, relaxing, private setting yet minutes away from major cities if you need anything. The house was stocked with everything needed to cook a meal or grill out, all the rooms cozy and comfortable. Would recommend to fellow motorcyclists also. Spectacular day rides through Shawnee Forest, Land Between the Lakes and nearby Metropolis and Paducah. There is a bit of a gravel road to get to the cottage, but entirely manageable. The hot tub was a welcome addition after a day of riding and awesome to hangout under the stars sitting on the dock. We loved our stay. It was lovely and we didn't want to leave. It was also nice being unplugged from the world for a few days.
Thank you for a great vacation!

It was very peaceful. We were able to relax and enjoy the home. It had everything we needed. The view of the lake is beautiful. During the day we would drive to see other places and everyone couldn't wait to get back to the house.
We are very busy and don't get away much but this was perfect for us. We already can't wait to go back.
We had a great time at the cabin on the lake, and everything was ready for us when we arrived. The hot tub was relaxing with the views of the lake and sunset. It is close to the casino and grocery store. We had a big time, and the cabin was really nice and we enjoyed every minute did not want to leave the cabin.
My husband and I spent two nights in this lovely little home for our 16th anniversary. Couldn't have asked for anything better. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub and new dock were great amenities. Relaxing on the screened in porch with that view and reading a book was wonderful. The only problems we encountered were a problem with bees on the deck. The owner did have traps out for these but they were bothersome and my husband killed many while we were there. Otherwise wonderful visit and we would love to return!
We would like to invite you to stay in our relaxing lakeside retreat. My husband and I bought this property in 2011. We love to stay at the lake with our family and friends and wanted to share the experience with others. Hohman Lake was built in 1963 and has many full time and occasional residents. Located only 15 minutes from Paducah, KY and Metropolis, IL it allows guests to enjoy the shopping, restaurants and entertainment available in the city as well as the beauty of Southern Illinois. This place is the perfect family retreat or romantic getaway.
Some of the activities in the surrounding areas include Harrah's Riverboat Casino, the Superman statue and Superman museum and Fort Massac State Park all in Metropolis, IL. We are also within easy driving distance to the Southern Illinois wine trails. Historic downtown Paducah, KY is known for it's riverfront with large paintings reflecting on the history of Paducah, excellent restaurants, art galleries and many shops. Kentucky Oaks Mall and it's surrounding stores and restaurants are also close by.
