Why james howell chose Green Turtle Cay
We rented this property in February of 2012, looked at many other houses on the island but liked Fairwinds so much that we bought it. During that visit the weather was lovely, not too hot and certainly not too cold. We stayed in the house for three months during 2013, January to March, and look forward to returning. The setting of the house is a very quiet country lane close to several lovely beaches which provide quiet beauty. The 400 or so people that live on the island and second home owners are genuinely welcoming of visitors. There are no security issues.
What makes this House unique
Some things that make Fairwinds and Green Turtle so attractive to us are the quiet of the setting while being close enough to town that there is no hesitation in taking a casual trip to Sundowners or Pineapples, looking up at the absolutely clear night time sky, and hearing the waves break on the reefs at night. A very nice feature of the house is the full width, screened porch with dining table and propane-grill. We have made several improvements including new air conditioning units, high definition television, internet and streaming Netflix.

Very nice, close to marina
Had a great time on this property! Much more spacious in person, easy 2 minute walk to green turtle club where we kept our boat. Great island, great location Would return in a heartbeat!
Thoroughly enjoyed our vacation
Thanks for the kind review. We are very happy that you had a good vacation at Fairwinds.
Location was nice
House was close to the club and public dock. Everything was good
Great place clean and nice place too stay
Spacious rural suburban home, centrally located
We loved staying at Fairwinds! The house is very big- 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds in each room, large kitchen, dining room, living room, big yard with coconut palm trees, and a screened in front porch. All of the kitchen supplies we needed were provided. The washer and dryer and wifi worked well too. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had.
The house is conveniently located near beaches, Green Turtle Club and Marina, and Brendal's Dive shop. We went on 2 snorkeling trips with Brendal and had so much fun! He and his family are so fun and sweet.
The reefs off the beaches of Green Turtle are very beautiful too. All the way from Bita Bay up to the north end of Ocean Beach, there are beautiful corals, fish, and sea turtles to see. Just swim out from shore.
There is also a gorgeous bay called Gillham Bay that has crystal clear blue water and a nice, sandy bottom. You can walk and swim out to Pelican Island and then snorkel on the ocean side of the island where you will find lots of corals and fish.
Everyone on Green Turtle is super friendly. Everyone waves hi as you pass by. It is best to rent a golf cart to explore all of the beaches, town, etc, but if you can't, people will offer you rides if you just start walking.
Brendal and Kevin play live music almost nightly on the island. Call or email Brendal's Dive shop to ask about the live music schedule for when you are there.
We had so much fun on Green Turtle Cay. It is one of our favorite islands in all of the Caribbean. We hope to be back soon!
Located within an easy walk of Green Turtle Club, Brendal's Dive Center, Coco Bay and Ocean Beach on the Atlantic. A golf cart ride brings you to many other beaches (all of which are public) and the small town of New Plymouth.
