Classic Double Room
Hotel Monte Cenci
Hotel Monte Cenci
A week in Rome
The hotel is just at the heart of the Jewish Ghetto, very close to many restaurants and main Rome attractions. Everybody is very helpfull and always smiling, which makes you feel at home. The breakfast is served at the top floor, you can have it in the terrace as well, which is a very good start for the day. The rooms are clean and modernly furnished, my room was a little bit small, but still ok; the bathroom is very clean and offering a good size shower. In brief, everything is ok and I would not hesitate to recommend Monte Cenci or go and stay there again.
Hidden Gem- highly recommend!
Newly remodeled hotel. Very clean and modern. Roof top bar. The staff is amazing! Paolo and staff are so gracious and welcoming. Our room was made up late and Paolo offered us Prosecco on the roof top bar due the delay. The staff recommended nearby restaurants in the local bustling neighborhood. The Trastevere neighborhood is a fun place to visit. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. A small snafu with the shower was the only reason for the less than 5 star rating for room comfort.
Nice clean hotel...not our best experience though!
Firstly, we struggled to find the hotel as it is well hidden in the back streets and has a sign outside about the size you would have on a private property. We wanted to drop our luggage before we dropped our hire car so we could walk back through Rome but it got so stressful we ended up scrapping that idea and decided to take the car back first and get a taxi instead. The reception staff at the hotel we're extremely helpful! They provided us with a map and gave us information on the city and then went onto give us a route to take through the city as a self guided tour. This was great on our first day and overall enabled us to fit so much more in. Our room was clean but very standard - nothing like the ones advertised and what we thought we paid a premium price for. We had a problem with the safe, which was quickly replaced with a new one. However it was not fixed down so in our eyes not very 'safe'. Our biggest disappointment was upon leaving! We always leave change we've accumulated in the room for the maid...as we were walking to reception to check out a porter asked which room we we're in and then quickly disappeared. My partner realised we had not kept anything as a 'tip' for him as we knew he would help us out with the bags. We hadn't checked out yet so he headed back to the room to split some of the money. He met the porter leaving our room and when he entered all the money was gone! It's safe to say this will change the way we show our gratitude in future!!
