Enjoy the great views from this bright spacious and very well equipped log & stone chalet, ideally situated in beautiful Durmitor National Park, just 250 metres from ski-lifts yet only 2-3 km from Zabljak centre.

Downstairs is large open plan lounge/dining area with lounge, dining area, 2 bathrooms and storage in entrance hall. Well equipped including flat screen HDTV, satellite TV, DVD/CD player plus guide books etc. or just enjoy the excellent mountain views!
Upstairs are 3 bedrooms with 7 single beds & 1 double bed plus a bathroom (toilet/sink) and hallway/storage area - great for couples or large groups.
Accessible in winter - just 20 metres from regularly snowploughed main road to ski-lifts. Skiing and summer cable cars walking distance, only 250 metres away.
3000 litre emergency water tank, wood stove & gas/electric cooker & emergency generator ensure no inconvenience.

We fell in love with Montenegro in 2005/6, with its great coastal and mountain scenery, history and friendly people. We thought Zabljak/Durmitor had huge and unrealised potential with its high mountains, Black Lake plus many smaller lakes, breathtaking Tara Canyon only 20 minutes away, with rafting, skiing, walking and other outdoor activities. It still needs significant investment (spa’s, more/new ski lifts, etc) before the hordes will arrive, but there have been significant improvements already (excellent new road sections from coast to Zabljak finished, some new hotels, etc.). Meanwhile this area remains great for people who enjoy beautiful scenery and outdoor activities away from the crowds.

1. Great location: Easily accessible in summer and winter (next to regularly snowploughed road), with great mountain/rural views from the many windows and only 250 metres from the ski-lifts (handy in summer too!) and only about 3km from the Zabljak shops. Friendly neighbours including the caretaker family who look after it for us.
2. High Standard (now!): It is now much higher standard than most other chalets in the area since we’ve replaced all the insides except the floorboards!. It has: new roof; new insulation; new electrics; new double glazed windows; new wood panelling; new electrics and lights; new kitchen; new stairs/steps; renovated bathroom plus new bathroom & entranceway/front door; new electronics (flat screen TV, satellite, etc.); new wood burning stove/radiators; central heating; 3000L water tank; some new furniture; etc. Started renting recently to contribute towards the high bills!
Much better location and standard than most other chalets in the area: more spacious; great views from the many downstairs windows; accessible all year round; well equipped (flat screen TV, washing machine; etc.); great rural location near ski lifts yet only a few km from Zabljak shops and restaurants.

Owner comment: Caretakers always helpful. Also, unlike most chalets in area, this has an emergency generator which is used on the rare occasions when power is off more than 15 minutes or so, and wood burning stove pump has battery back-up. Steve

We had a great trip and even the weather changed during the stay we found some very interesting moths and butterflies, birds and wildlife as well.
The chalet worked very fine for us, no problems at all.
And as the real estate brokers says: Its all about location, location and location. And your house has a fantastic location.
Within 30 minutes we were at mountain passes at 1900 meters, and within 30 minutes we were in the lowland valleys and river banks.
I hope to be able to return to this wonderful area.
We had a great time in this chalet. It is perfect to go to the Durmitor mountains. To peak Savin Kuk it is 1 1/2 hours and to Zabljak 30 minutes on foot or 5 Minutes by car. In the summer there's a cable car to get to the high mountains.
The chalet has plenty of space. It is fully equipped and situated in a quiet environment.

Log Cabin overlooking mountain in Durmitor National Park, which has 23 peaks over 2,200m and 18 lakes. Just 250 metres from Savin Kuk ski lifts and facilities - useful in summer too for effortless views!. Only 3km from amenities in Zabljak the highest resort in the Balkans. Spring to autumn activities include walking, mountain biking, Jeep tours, horse riding, visiting the Black Lake, sight seeing etc. Rafting in the dramatic Tara Canyon (or 7th highest bungee jump in Europe!) only 20km away. In winter downhill and cross country skiing and snowboarding are the most popular.

Ski: Savin Kuk ski lift are just 250 metres away and open in winter (skiing) and summer (great views from the top). One of the best ski areas though relatively small. Highest lift 2313m and resturants/lifts start at 1563. Ski season normally Christmas to end March. 15 slopes including 5 red and 2 black with 3.9km of pistes. Ski & snowboard equipment rental just 250 metres away of 2-3km away in Zabljak. Caretakers who live only ~100 metres away can arrange inexpensive and friendly ski lessons (and other activities in summer) if desired.
