Our family recently purchased this beautiful property and had it remodeled with new wood floors, kitchen cabinets with granite tops, air conditioning, carpeting... and the list goes on. We fell in love with this location in Door County long ago and built our own home less than a mile from here.
Chris purchased this House in 2013
Why Chris chose Baileys Harbor
We love this area of Door County with its pristine shorelines, mature trees and abundant wildlife. Door County resembles the Atlantic Coast of New England with its rugged limestone shorelines and bluffs. This home is located away from all the noise and congestion of other areas yet is conveniently located to most activities of Door County in less than 10 minutes. We love outdoor activities such as going to the beach, hiking endless trails, kayaking or paddle boarding by the light houses and bays, world class King Salmon, Small-mouth Bass and trophy Walleye fishing, golfing, awesome kiteboarding and its all right here without the noise and congestion of traffic. There is also very fine dining in all of the towns in Door County wether you like steaks and seafood, Italian or a Friday fish fry. Door County boasts several wineries as well as art and theatre entertainment. Every weekend there is a festival in one or more of the nearby towns. We find that one summer is not enough time to take it all in, but we love trying. We are very excited to be able to offer such a great property for you to enjoy your vacation at and we care about your visit being memorable.
What makes this House unique
The open great room with many windows and views of the water make this home ideal. Step outside through the double doors onto the huge cedar deck and take in the beauty of the large trees and sounds of the waves on the shore. Go for a long walk down the private drive that leads to this home and pick Thimble Berries or go further and explore the nature preserve at the end of the road.

Quaint house in the woods
Nice house situated in woods. The amenities were all good and nice to have. Fire pit was great and nice by the water. We had very bad WiFi and cell service but not really anything that can be done about that. All in all great retreat!
Beautiful, private getaway
Great place to rest and relax, but near enough to all the sites and activities that Door County offers.
Thank you for your visit. We hope to see you again someday.
This home was perfect for a gathering of good friends. Beautiful property!
The location of this property is absolutely beautiful. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Door County, but close enough to get to everything within 10-15 minutes. The house was very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. The decor was beautiful and very tasteful. Chris the owner was very responsive to any questions we had. Could not have asked for a better spot for our gathering. I would highly recommend this property.
Beautiful House on the Lake
My husband, parents, 3 dogs and I stayed at this beautiful house on the lake! It was absolutely perfect! Beautiful sunrises! Everything was so comfortable and felt like home...at least for a week.
We’re so glad your family enjoyed everything. We hope you visit again!
A fun getaway.
It's great to be able to go from busy downtown shops to this beautiful house in the woods. Even though it's not far away, it feels like you're in your own private forest, since no other buildings are in sight. The sound of the waves make it seem like you're at the seashore. Very comfortable with lots of space.
We’re very glad you enjoyed the beauty of our home and it’s surrounding. We hope you visit again!
Beautiful home and perfect location!
This was our first family trip to Door County. Really liked staying on the Lake side away from the tourist craziness. We were able to get to most places of interest within 15-25 minute drive. Home was very comfortable and clean -- Thanks!
Betty, We are glad you enjoyed your visit and home you come again! Chris and Robin
Baileys Harbor is conveniently located among many of the Northern Door County communities. We boast over 6,000 acres of natural areas to explore including the Ridges Sanctuary. A favorite activity is the new zipline overlooking the Ridges Sanctuary. We go every year and it's always a great time! You can hike, bike and kayak to your heart's continent around Baileys Harbor.
There are three lighthouses in Baileys. Cana Island just north of town is open to the public and you may even climb to the top of this working light house. Another is the Bird Cage light house on a private island in Baileys that can be viewed up close by Kayaking or taking a boat tour from Lake Shore Adventures. Then there is the light house that is now part of the Ridges Sanctuary with a long boardwalk leading up from the public beach.
There is world class King Salmon and Rainbow Trout fishing off Baileys Harbor. Catch your trophy or at least some fine table fare for the grill during your stay. Again see Lake Shore Adventures for Charters or the latest fishing report if you have your own boat.
On a windy day go almost anywhere in Baileys and watch the kite boarders doing there acrobatics across the waves. There can be a dozen kites going at any given time.
If your real adventurous you can snorkel or dive various ship wrecks scattered across the Lake Michigan bottom. Again see Lake Shore Adventures for scuba and snorkel equipment, guided tours, or glass bottom kayaks to view the wrecks.
There are endless things to do in DC no matter what you prefer to do. One of the best parts about staying at our home is the location. It is tranquil and relaxing yet convenient to all the attractions. Enjoy your activities during the day and come home to peace and relaxation.
