WELCOME TO DA.DO HOUSE!!! :-)
Ciao, my name is Cristina ! I am Roman by 7 generations, I like reading, traveling, cooking, shopping. From my passion for travel I decided to open this holiday house. I spent my whole childhood in this neighborhood, I made the high school a few meters from here. I am married and I have got two children.
I convinced my husband to buy this apartment, in 1997, because I think it is one of the best area of the city . Monteverde is close to beautiful parks, it is central and well connected with the major points of interest of Rome. We lived in this apartment for 10 years until the children grow up and we decided to moove into a bigger house. I'm a angiologis doctor and I have kept my studio in the same adress of the Da.Do House.
Cristina Belati purchased this apartment in 1997
We are located in the city center, in the popular neighborhood of apartment Monteverde, inhabited by journalists, artists and well-known Italian actors, near the most beautiful Roman parks and Trastevere district, perfectly located if you want to be in the heart of Rome, but would at the same time, staying in a quiet area.
The house is well divided, completely renovated with every comfort, the works were directed by my husband, a civil engineer. The flat consists in an entrance / hall, living room with bed sofa, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen.
We loved this place, great for a family of 6. The location was one block from the 8 train which takes you right into Rome. About a 25 minute train ride. lots of supermarkets close to the apartment. Very clean place Francesco was a great host, met us at apartment when we arrived and took us around to familiarize us with the area. It was great to have a hospital near by but the constant ambulance sirens were just a bit annoying at night. We would stay at the DaDo house again if we return.
It was a good choice staying in the residential district of Monte Verde at Da.Do House. The building was clean, quiet and in a safe area. The apartment is well appointed and close in proximity to transportation, coffee bars, restaurants, and many fresh produce markets. Francesco and Cristina kept in touch before, during and day of our departure. I appreciated having the tourist information and taxi line available in the unit, we used the tourist information often. Francesco met us upon our arrival and took us on a quick tour of the neighborhood, very helpful and appreciated. The apartment is very spacious and accommodated our party of 3 adults very well and we could have fit 1-2 additional adults comfortably. Things to note: the pots and pans are not the best but functional, great heating system and the beds are comfortable with the best blankets and pillows for the weather. Spacious main bathroom however the shower is not overhead, it's a bathtub with detachable shower head the master bedroom ensuite bathroom has a stand up shower. Not an issue for us because we had a small party but for larger parties may want to consider that we could not use both hot showers at the same time, one shower ends up cold, brrrr! The washer in the apartment is a great amenity as well. My family frequented the Orny coffee bar daily, which was recommended by Francesco as his #1 bar, the staff was welcoming and very helpful, and let's not forget great Cappuccino and toast! We found the best produce market on the main street nearest the home walking the opposite direction of the Gianicolense tram stop and it is 24 hours! We had a great adventure walking to and from Villa Pamphili, recommendation take public transportation it is further than a USA mile...and you will walk a lot at the park it is huge and beautiful. Although we got lost a lot while visiting Rome (streets and directions are nothing like the USA so don't bother trying to make sense of it instead build in an hour for just getting lost), while lost we ran into some of the greatest finds from outdoor shopping markets to great food, coffee spots and historical sites. Public transportation is the way to go in Rome, we enjoyed living like the Romans. Can't wait to visit Italy again, especially now that I know my way around...Ciao!
We came back a few weeks ago from Italy :) We were there with our four young kids and were happy to find this apartment in Rome, we had room enough for everyone to feel at home. The place is conveniently located, with places to eat and/or get your groceries just a few steps away. We really enjoyed our walks to the metro station, about 15 mins. from the apartment. Good way to get a feeling of what the locals do. Francesco was very helpful! Our arrival was later than expected but he waited for us and gave us all the information we needed to make our stay as smooth as possible. He had to come once to check on the air conditioner, got it fixed, and also gave us a lift to the park :) The kids were happy to take a break from sight seeing!. We definitely recommend this place and hope to come back :). Thanks a lot Francesco!
Thank you Cristina and Francesco for allowing us to stay at your beautiful apartment. Everything was beautiful and so spacious, even by American standards. Francesco met us at the apartment and walked us through everything we needed to know, including how to work the stove. He also walked us around the block to help us learn our new neighborhood. Monteverde is an awesome neighborhood, close to everything including Trastevere, and the St. Peters. Close access to Tram 8 made getting around to everything you would want to see quick and easy. So glad we stayed a month. Perfect way to live in Roma. For those looking at different apartments in Rome, especially Americans, Dado House has many amenities that we take for granted, but are not so readily available in Roma. Beautiful building in a safe neighborhood, with an elevator. Apartment has air conditioning and an excellent kitchen to cook in including a microwave. And a bath tub, plus a shower in the second bathroom and an in house washing machine. If we ever make it back to Roma, I hope Francesco and Cristina will let us come stay again.
Just returned from a month-long stay in Italy.
I was the first of our group to arrive. Francesco met me at the apartment and reviewed the details. He then walked me around the neighborhood providing necessary information.
The apartment is exactly as pictured. It is beautifully appointed, clean and stocked with all necessary items. The location is perfect! Small market in next building with fresh fruits, vegetables, wines, cheeses,, bread and other sundry items. A full supermarket is just a block down. The Gelateria Artigianale, one block up, was the perfect start for our days with the BEST coffee and pastries.
Transportation was a block away with access to buses, trams and trains... very convenient!
I would highly recommend Cristina and Francesco's Da.Do House as a home away from home. They were always available to us via mail and communication was replied to quickly. The apartment is beautiful and in a quiet residential area which was wonderful at the end of a busy day in Rome center.
I'd go back in a heartbeat!
Thank you Cristina and Francesco!
Our family of 5 (girls aged 12, 9 and 6) just came back from a 1 week holiday at Rome at Cristina's apartment. We had a great time, and both Cristina and Francesco helped us out before and during our stay. The location is very convenient, just a couple of tram stops from the Trastevere and a 15 minute tram ride to Piazza Venezia. The apartment is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped.
Thank you for everything Cristina and Francesco!

There are grocery stores, and all the necessary amenities for work every day.The evening Monteverde becomes a very relaxed and pleasant: the bars welcome the residents, and it is not uncommon to see families sitting together to chat over a glass of wine. Its restaurants are great, the people friendly and the shops without flaunting beautiful. Those who come to live here seldom goes away.
In the summer, the town hall organizes in various places of the district shows, live music and film screenings.
On the territory there are several cultural institutions of international importance: first, the AMERICAN Academy in Rome, located in the historic Villa Aurelia.
The area is rich in history, primarily the Christian catacombs of San Pancrazio, which are located below of the San Pancrazio, located just outside of the homonymous door.
To the north of the district there is a large green lung, at 1,000mt: the Villa Doria Pamphili, the largest public park in Rome. Also worth mentioning is the main building of the villa: the Patrician Casino, designed by Alessandro Algardi.
Of great historical, artistic and environmental is also the Villa Sciarra: seven acres of land in which the last owners, the AMERICANS George Wurts and his wife Henriette Tower, moved many statues in sandstone coming from the Visconti castle of Brignano d'Adda, giving the park its current appearance.
