Uniquely Beautiful, Waterfront Summer House. Stunning views. Boston 1:10 min.
About Leita Luchetti
I’ve spent a good part of most every summer of my life in this house. My ancestor Ama Shepley decided that Buzzards Bay - specifically the western part of Blankenship Cove with its steady cooling southwest breeze - would be the perfect spot for her to bring her three grown daughters and their children together in summertime. And so it was. Today my cousins and I still enjoy the same pleasures my mother and my mother’s mother enjoyed here - on what we have all come to call “The Place”. I trust you will enjoy them as well. Please note that we share our driveway and waterfront with two of the ten families (cousins) who have houses on the compound. Both of these families spend their lives abroad and spend part of the summer in Marion. So, while the beach and pier are private to the outside world, they will be shared with these very gracious cousins. Like most of my cousins, I also spend just part of the year in Marion. In the winter my husband and I live in Cambridge on Cleveland Street between Harvard and MIT. He's an architect, and I’m a filmmaker. We’ve both spent many of our years teaching.

Best place ever
Beautiful house and property!
This house is amazing! It is light, comfortable and filled with books, art and cool knick-knacks. We stayed with family and found everything we needed for three generations (including a toddler). We spent the days taking in the breathtaking view and relaxing on the lawn, and the evenings curled up on the couches in the great room and chatting around the long dinner table. The dock is great for swimming or just strolling out to gaze, and the small beach is the perfect place to wade. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Wonderful summer cottage right on Blankenship Cove and opening to the Marion Harbor.
What a most wonderful ocean front cottage with magnificant pier and docks that allow for boating - we brought and morred/docked out Herrishoff 12 1/2, kayaks, vintage motor boat. BlankenshipCove is a peaceful wildlife filled spot with wonderful afternoon SW breeze and even sometimes strong winds. The view is 270 degrees and has the most wonderful sun from morning to evening. The whole house is very funky with Leita's eclectic sense of design but has all one needs for cooking, grilling, comfortable couches and chairs for reading or chatting. Outside lawn patio with pergola is just right for lazing or cocktails and the view is stupendous. Watching the osprey fishing is a sight to behold. There is usually a parade of sialing boasts going in and out of Marion Harbor for vicarious pleasure and scenic delight. Beds are very comfortable and the house allowed lots of family member guests with ease. The large wooden dining table hosted great dinners for 10-12 and yet the house was intimate and comfortable when just my husband and I we alone there. A perfoect spot which we hope to stay in again yearly for the forseeable future. Communication was easy and prompt and house supplies were all in order. A great months vacation!!!
This charming home sits up on a hill overlooking the quiet and secluded cove. The location alone is so rare and special as far as the views go,but another tremendous benefit of being in Marion is NO Cape traffic. It is only about 40 minutes from Hingham! We went just as our small family, but there are plenty of beds and bedrooms to sleep quite a crew. The house is ideally positioned with so many breathtaking views from various windows and doorways as well as places to take in the view all around the property. This property has the views and feel of a secluded estate on Nantucket or the Vineyard without the travel issues. We rented kayaks and ventured out onto the water and swam on the private beach - delightful! It's a wonderful place to escape to to get away from it all - we just loved our time there!

We had the most fabulous time! The house was the perfect beach house from the white board walls to the beach inspired colors in the decorating. The children had a wonderful time fishing off the dock as well as rowing out to the sand bar. I believe we were there the hottest weekend of the summer, but the house cooled down nicely with the heavenly breeze off the water. We especially enjoyed browsing through the many books in the house which often times were reflections on the home's history. I would recommend this house to families with children, aunts, uncles or grandparents, and I would go back with my family in a heartbeat!
A Very Special Place
I've traveled to a great many places in my life and found this spot to be one of the most beautiful and welcoming I've ever been. The house is spacious and very comfortable. My stay was happy and rejuvenating. I recommend it highly and look forward to coming back again myself.
Swim, walk in the woods, sail, play golf, play tennis, kayak, picnic, bike - explore. Great for all sorts of activities- and for doing nothing at all.
Recommend blueberry picking, visiting local farms, and stopping at roadside stands for fruits, flowers, and vegetables. One such stand is less than a mile down Point Road from our driveway.
