About Owner/Property Manager
Paul's grandmother bought the original cabin after she retired from teaching English literature at University of Colorado. As we assumed ownership, we both added to and updated the original home. With our grandchildren coming into the home, five (5) generations of Romigs have enjoyed the house, the grounds, the Town of Estes Park, and the restful and yet stimulating beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Paul was born in Denver but grew up in the Northern Virginia suburbs. Ellen was raised in the near suburbs of Washington, D.C.. We met at an elementary school in McLean, VA where we both were employed. We vacationed here several summers before finally moving to Colorado in 1988.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this House in 1954
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Estes Park
This house has been a part of my (Paul's) life since my high school days.
What makes this House unique
We love the views from the large picture windows from which we see Twin Sisters, Long's Peak, and the majestic high country peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. As place to vacation, we enjoyed getting up early, going for hikes, coming back to the house for food and rest, playing Uno, and enjoying a stroll downtown to wander through the shops in the evenings...maybe stopping in one of the ice cream parlors for a cone.

Ellen & Paul are gracious hosts, their property is immaculate, spacious, peaceful & relaxing! The photos do not do the home justice, it’s much larger than it appears. We really enjoyed the family gathering spaces and huge dining table, but the ability to also spend quiet time separately on the deck, patio, or living rooms. The bedrooms are wonderful with nice beds & linens, & all the bathrooms are clean & modern. We couldn’t have asked for a better space so close to downtown Estes & RMNP! Thank you Ellen & Paul for your hospitality!!
Great Family gathering!
Loved all the bathrooms and private bedroom locations.
Would return again.
We were so glad you visited our home. Your family was a blessing to us. Do come again and enjoy the RMNP.
Wonderful family home with a fantastic view!!
Our family was warmly welcomed by the owners upon arrival. Ellen and Paul gave us a tour of the house, including it history, which was an unexpected pleasure! The house fit our family perfectly, as it has both large family areas for games and conversations and also small corner niches for reading and quiet time. The patio and floral gardens are wonderful for fresh air and relaxation. You can see Longs Peak directly from the living room. Downtown Estes Park is a two minute drive and a 10 minute walk away, and Rocky Mountain National Park is less than 10 minutes driving! We could not have been happier and the owners were so incredibly pleasant and helpful!!! We hope to be back as soon as possible!
Great for Families
We had a wonderful time in Estes Park, due in large part to this beautiful home and our gracious hosts. The home is beautiful and wonderfully furnished. The owners, Ellen and Paul are the nicest people you will ever meet. The location of the home is convenient to town and the National Park. We had a special need and the Ellen & Paul we’re graciously accommodating. I’d rate this property and our stay six stars if I could.
Thank you for staying at our home. You all were wonderful guests and I am so glad we could help you. Please come again! We were glad you enjoyed the home and going to the National Park! Paul and Ellen
Perfect cabin/home for family vacation!
Ideal location located just up the hill from Estes Park. Views are tremendous of Rocky Mountains. Waking up in the master bedroom to clear views of Long's Peak is an absolute treat. House is BIG and has plenty of square footage. Nice to have separate living/gathering areas. Outdoor space includes balcony outside of master suite, patios with comfortable seating, beautiful landscaped lot (where we were fortunate to watch several bull elk in early morning and later evenings). Owners Paul and Ellen are fantastic people - our family feels blessed to now know them! Home is full of history and good vibes. We can't wait to come back!
We were delighted to meet you and your precious children. Thank you for staying in our cabin and giving us the opportunity to meet YOU! Thank you for taking care of the cabin while you were there. We loved the chalk art on the driveway. We will look forward to you joining us again! Paul & Ellen

Thanks Karin! We sure enjoyed having your family visit and glad we could have all the things you needed. Also, it was great you all hiked and enjoyed our Rocky Mountain National Park. Hope you can make it back again.
Estes lake is 5 minutes away, the National Park is also 5 minutes away. Enjoy wildlife from our community, many attractions for children, bumper cars, giant slide and mini-golf. There are also a variety of churches available. The Eldorado ski resort is only a little over an hour away..an exceptional outing during the winter.
