Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8

Changes in Attitude has a commanding view from the deck and interior living area of this gulf front duplex and sits right at the spot where the waters of the Apalachicola Bay meet with the Gulf of Mexico. Not only are these waters at your door among the most fertile in the world, but Changes in Attitude also looks out over the tip of St. Vincent's National Wildlife Refuge — a 10-minute boat trip away with shuttles available. The Indian Pass boat ramp is just a quarter mile away and the waters are rich with fish, whether throwing your line from the beach or a boat.

In addition to your fishing pole, bring your swimsuit and beach toys including sea kayak and paddleboards. Outfitters nearby can take care of those needs as well. Kiteboarding is another new sport that enlivens the possibilities for activity and this just happens to be one of the great hot spots for this new sport. Or just rest and relax among the dunes rich with natural vegetation which nestle the duplex from the beach.

The living spaces are fresh and inviting and the duplex boasts a living and dining area with vaulted ceilings, all bedrooms with high ceilings, and 3 porches to enjoy the beach from one side or the lagoon from the other. Big bright windows bring the outdoors inside.

Among the great things this duplex has to offer are new living room furnishings, including an antique porch sofa from a Victorian house in Apalachicola, new rugs, furniture, double oven, cooktop, propane grill, art, electric fireplace, a sound system and other items for you to enjoy. The secluded and private beach duplex is right in touch with the 21st century with wifi and Internet access.

Indian Pass offers solitude or activity. From antiquing and dining in Apalachicola and Port St. Joe, horseback riding on the beach, venturing to St. George Island, swimming in the waters at Cape San Blas, fishing from the beach or in the bay, hiking on St. Vincent's Island, or water sports and sunbathing at your back door — you can do as much or as little as you want. The folks are friendly and the atmosphere is laid back.

Relax and take a walk on this secluded beach where there's not a high rise for miles and miles, explore the rich culture of what's known as Florida's Forgotten Coast, or just sit on the beach with a good book.

This is a pet friendly home, and a non-refundable pet fee of $112 per pet will be added to the reservation upon Homeowner approval.

Weekly reservations includes a $250 credit of beach gear rental provided by VayK Gear. No need to find a beach gear rental company, you’ll be able to shop for bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, or even beach carts. Your gear will be delivered to your beach house and will be waiting for your arrival.

Reviewer Comments:

Loved the view and the unit! Comfortable and quiet! Only two issues.......dishwasher does not clean very well. I had to hand wash everything. The floors were not very clean. I am questioning if the hardwood floors were washed. Other than that, the experience was wonderful!

Reviewer Comments:

The good: The location is outstanding, as is the family room of the rental. I can't say enough how nice and relaxing the house and location are. The kitchen is totally adequate and pretty well updated. The sunlight and breezes that come into the main room are sublime. The location is stellar for kayaking and fishing. The bad: Pretty much all of the beds/mattresses are *extremely* uncomfortable; to the point that, after three nights, everyone was ready to leave. Which is a shame because otherwise, the house and location are so great. If the owners would update the mattresses, I would give a five star rating across the board. I'd also caution potential guests with young kids or inexperienced swimmers to use caution at the beach: the current is formidable and a sharp drop off is just a few feet from the shore.

Reviewer Comments:

We have been coming to the beach the week after Christmas for years, but this was our first time in Indian Pass. We chose this location because the beach is dog friendly and we don’t like crowded beaches or overdeveloped areas. Even though this property was a duplex, it felt very private. We met the owners of the other half of the property and they couldn’t have been nicer. The property had built in dog gates, which were a nice touch. The bedrooms were small and tucked away on the entry level offering no views, but we were only there to sleep so not a huge deal to us. The upstairs space was the star of this property with one large room with kitchen, dining, living area, 1/2 bath and huge decks with great views of the ocean and the bay.. The proximity of the house to the boat ramp allowed us an easy place to launch our kayaks. We kayaked over to St. Vincent’s Island a couple of times during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the birdwatching, hiking and the large amounts of shells. Our older travelers opted for the ferry to the island. There were portolets on the island as well as a helpful park ranger. Everyone we dealt with at the property management company couldn’t Hanceville been more helpful or friendly. We will definitely be back!

3 seniors: a mother and her brother and sister in front unit. Her 2 sons with wives in back unit. Common walkway on upper level made for good flow and easy living, socializing. Be aware the only way to the beach from the parking is through the house. Lots to carry. We could not have had a better experience. All loved it.
