About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Located in the heart of the scenic red rock country of southern Utah and northern Arizona, Kanab provides the ideal base for exploring the national parks of the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Glen Canyon/Lake Powell, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, as well as a host of State Parks and other outstanding attractions.

Designed in 2011 by the owner, a local architect and landscape architect, this home provides luxury and stylish accommodation in an exceptionally tranquil setting, while only 5 minutes from the town center. The property offers open views of local red rock buttes, and the Kaibab Plateau on the southern skyline towards the Grand Canyon. The two driveways provide off-street parking for 3 cars.

The central open plan living room, kitchen, and dining area provide comfort and convenience in this state-of-the-art contemporary home.

The well-appointed kitchen offers new stainless steel appliances (gas range, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher), with new washer and dryer in the adjoining laundry, flat screen satellite TV in the living room, free wireless internet throughout. Tiled floors, atmospheric lighting, and large south-facing windows create a fresh and modern atmosphere. French doors from the living room and patio doors from two of the bedrooms access the south-facing patio.

Three bedrooms provide comfortable beds and ample linen, with large closet spaces, and easy access to bathrooms. The carpeted master bedroom offers a King Posturepedic with memory foam, and a tiled walk-in shower in the bathroom.

The home runs on 100% clean wind energy sourced thru Arcadia Power (www.arcadiapower.com), which is Green-e Energy certified and meets the environmental and consumer-protection standards set forth by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions. More details available on request.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your review, Terri, and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. And I hope you will have the opportunity to stay again. I will have to update the photos of the front and rear gardens which, as you know, are now fully grown in with native plants. I did just authorize VRBO to refund your damage deposit. Best regards, Tim

Quiet, felt like home, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Spent 6 nights at this house on a recent trip to Utah to visit nearby national parks, monuments, and Best Friends! The house was very comfortable and provided a very nice place to sleep and get ready for each day's adventure. So much better than a hotel/motel. We even saw bucks in the backyard on 2 days. I will come back to Kanab and look to stay here again!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your reservation and review, Abby. Yes, great to see the bucks meandering across the back garden ... that's why I chose not to fully fence it off. Will look forward to hosting you again ! All the best, Tim

What a great place!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights at Tim's place. The house is beautiful, located in a very, very, very quiet residential neighborhood, about 4 minutes outside Kanab's center. You'll find everything you need to cook awesome meals, all you have to do is hit the grocery store for fresh supplies. The price is very reasonable compared to the many hotels in town and you'll love watching the stars at night from the patio. There was 4 adults and 2 kids in our group and there was plenty of room, dishes, beds, pillows towels and everything you need. I'm staying there again next time I visit Kanab. We drove from Zion the first day, just a little over one hour. The day after we went to the Grand Canyon, about 2 hours drive maybe less, and the day after to Bryce.

It is the perfect location.

Tim's communication is second to none as he's available with text messages and phone calls for any questions. Lovely place

Cheers.

Vic

Owner's Response: Thanks again, Vic, for your stay at Aspen House, and I will look forward to welcoming you again for your next visit to Kanab and our outstanding national parks. As another suggestion for next time, Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon Dam are only 1.5 hours drive away, and you can get on raft and kayak trips on the Colorado River out of Page. All the best, Tim

Great lay out

  • 5 of 5

Location is perfect for enjoying Zion and Bryce as well as local hikes/treasures in Kanab.

We also rafted in Glen Canyon (in Page AZ) - easy drive. Very comfortable lay out, close to town and grocery store.

Utah is gorgeous - highly recommend this property.

Great rental for volunteering at Best Friends!

  • 5 of 5

We visited Kanab to volunteer at Best Friends and visit Zion National Park. This house was perfect for our stay. Plenty of room, short drive to town, dog friendly for sleep overs from Best Friends... If we're ever back in the area, we'd love to stay here again.
