About the property

Located in the heart of the scenic red rock country of southern Utah and northern Arizona, Kanab provides the ideal base for exploring the national parks of the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Glen Canyon/Lake Powell, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, as well as a host of State Parks and other outstanding attractions.

Designed in 2011 by the owner, a local architect and landscape architect, this home provides luxury and stylish accommodation in an exceptionally tranquil setting, while only 5 minutes from the town center. The property offers open views of local red rock buttes, and the Kaibab Plateau on the southern skyline towards the Grand Canyon. The two driveways provide off-street parking for 3 cars.

The central open plan living room, kitchen, and dining area provide comfort and convenience in this state-of-the-art contemporary home.

The well-appointed kitchen offers new stainless steel appliances (gas range, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher), with new washer and dryer in the adjoining laundry, flat screen satellite TV in the living room, free wireless internet throughout. Tiled floors, atmospheric lighting, and large south-facing windows create a fresh and modern atmosphere. French doors from the living room and patio doors from two of the bedrooms access the south-facing patio.

Three bedrooms provide comfortable beds and ample linen, with large closet spaces, and easy access to bathrooms. The carpeted master bedroom offers a King Posturepedic with memory foam, and a tiled walk-in shower in the bathroom.

The home runs on 100% clean wind energy sourced thru Arcadia Power (www.arcadiapower.com), which is Green-e Energy certified and meets the environmental and consumer-protection standards set forth by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions. More details available on request.

Chic and Upscale.

This place is so awesome it’s hard to know where to start. The design is open concept, very modern and cool. The kitchen is large with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. It is stocked with everything anyone could possible need, even a French press. The bedrooms are spacious and comfy. The master bath has a walk-in shower! There’s lovely outside sitting areas , a well stocked book shelf and it is dead quiet! Oh and a garage with automatic opener. It was so nice and comfortable I hated to leave. Plus the host was super responsive and everything was super clean. My new go to spot when volunteering at Best Friends.

We loved the home and location. It is about 3 minutes from town and two very awesome hikes, the Cottonwood and Bunting trails. We will definitely be back. Also, Tim was a great host!

Great little house in Kanab!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house in early October 2017. It was the perfect location to see the North Rim, Zion and Bryce. Located in a very quite neighborhood, it was a nice place to relax to at the end of a busy day. it was nice to cook our own meals...we used the stove and the grill on the patio outside (although we could not find a lighter...so we had to get creative to get it started). It was also nice to have a washer and dryer on site. We did a small load at the end of each day and came back home with no dirty laundry...what a bonus! This is a great deal and a great location for your Southern Utah vacation!

Owner's Response: Thanks Shelly ! Glad you enjoyed your stay. I think the propane BBQ has an ignition button. Will check on that and otherwise leave a lighter. Hope you can visit again ! Tim

Comfort, Convenience and Kanab memories!

  • 5 of 5

Two couples stayed four days in this comfortable and well-designed house. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom suite, with a bonus bedroom to store extra belongings in. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, close to town, easy driving distance to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. There are two hiking trails located in the neighborhood. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The private patio allows for some outdoor relaxing after a day of hiking or visiting Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. We had a wonderful meal at Sego Restaurant in Kanab, took a Bunny Yoga class at Best Friends satellite location in Kanab center, had coffee from the three independently-owned coffee shops in town and loved coming back to Aspen House, our Kanab oasis. A great place to stay. We loved it!

Great house! Convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Spent five nights at the house and loved it. We volunteered at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for three days and went to Bryce another. It’s a great location for a jumping off place. The house is spotless and well-supplied with sheets, towels, paper products. All the appliances are brand new and it was nice to be able to head home with clean laundry! The landscaping is beautiful - and, we even saw the Milky Way from the backyard on the first evening.

Tim was very responsive during the reservation process and was able to recommend some restaurants when we were there.

Thanks for permitting us to bring Best Friends dogs for sleepovers! Love being able to bring those little guys to a home environment.

Will definitely want to stay here again when I return to Best Friends.

Let me know in good time when you're planning your next trip and I will be pleased to host you again. All the best, Tim
