Accommodations: The TreeHouse is a spacious two bedroom stilt home with a king size bed in the master bedroom with a ½ bath and two additional single beds in the second bedroom. It sleeps 4 to 5 comfortably with a roll away tucked under one of the single beds in case you need it. This property has a nicely done kitchen, a shower for two in the main bath, and is very airy and light. The Kitchen is ready to use with complete sets of dishes, pots and pans, silverware, stove, microwave, coffee pot and utensils and a local grocery store can provide what you need. A washer and dryer combo is in the kitchen. Linens and towels are provided also. Cable is provided as well as Wi-Fi. Two porches look out over the water and the front porch was literally built around two oak trees, hence the name TreeHouse.
Spectacular views of the gulf, especially at sunset are seen from both the dining and living rooms or enjoy it from the front porch while sitting in one of two canvas swing chairs or laying in the relaxing canvas hammock which hangs from the ceiling. A boat dock out back on the canal allows fisherman to keep their boats in the water, but watch the tides to ensure enough water flow to get out to the gulf when ready to fish. This property is located on a commercial fishing/clamming canal in the back as well as the Gulf of Mexico in the front making it a unique property in a one-of-a-kind town. Like to fish but didn’t bring a boat, you can fish and crab right from our dock or join others on the new huge fishing dock downtown. Crab traps are on the dock, just remember to bring them in from the water when you go! We are also pet friendly with a small extra fee to accommodate your best friend. Covered parking is available under the second porch and the property can handle multiple cars.
The walk to town and the city’s beach is a leisurely 20 minutes along picturesque streets. Some guests rent golf carts in town to explore the entire island. The natural beauty of Cedar key and its slow pace allow visitors to feel what old Florida must have been like years ago allowing for very restful vacations. Whether you are here to just relax, sit and read a book, kayak, fish or just to enjoy the diverse wildlife, The TreeHouse can accommodate you comfortably.
Cedar Key hosts several festivals during the year so get your reservations early if you plan to attend one as the town fills up fast on those weekends. Special events include the Seafood Festival in October, the Art Festival in April, the Small Craft Boat Festival, the ClamAmerica celebration on the 4th of July and a kayak festival in September.
I was going to e-mail you and tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. The town was interesting, the seafood was delicious and the neighbors were friendly. And your house was beautifully equipped and was very comfortable.
Thanks for working hard to make our stay wonderful.
House is a bit old but in good shape, clean and well equipped for a "no frills" vacation. Limited TV channels and firm but comfortable beds. Only one TV in living room...none in bedrooms. Great front porch view of a small bay with lots of birds and jumping fish (saw a dolphin and alligator during our trip). House is on a quiet dead end street but you will need car or golf cart to get to the attractions and restaurants of downtown (or walk over a mile on very narrow roads). Good restaurants and lots of seafood choices but not much else to do downtown, which was fine with us but could be boring for kids. There is a small city park, playground and beach area but the water is a bit "clammy" and don't expect ocean type waves. We were there during their Seafood Festival which was fun and though crowded, not so bad as to keep you from seeing the vendor's wares and eating some great seafood. Local museum and walking trails were a bit lame. Kayak rentals and boat tours/rentals were available but spotty operational hours by the vendors (most were fully booked while we were there so that's probably why their kiosks were closed). We did a bit of fishing from shore but didn't do very well. Enjoyed the small town "old Florida" feel and glad there were no large condos or highrises. Many places are pet friendly but not all. All in all, 4 stars and we will be back.
The location is perfect! The house has everything you need the front porch and side screen porch are so comfortable just sit and watch the world go by. Very quite. Bill was so easy to work with, thanks Bill for everything!
We brought along our dog and cat. The cat spent almost all of his time on the screened porch - thought the little shelf all the way around was meant for him! The dog enjoyed playing with Rocky and exploring the area. Pat and I really liked how homey and comfortable it was. Great location, beautiful views and so close to the downtown area yet private as could be. New restaurant 83 West opened last week on Dock St. and had great food and service. A perfect retreat - we hope to return often.
We shared our anniversary here. The house is nice and home like. The porch overlooking the bay was nice, our little dog liked the porch. This area is ideal if you like to fish and kayak, very nice area, we took a boat trip around the islands.
Our family and two dogs stayed at the Tree House for 3 nights and loved it! It's on a dead street, with a canal in back and a magnificent water view in front. The house itself has everything you could possibly need when away from home - even Baggies! There's a large screened porch at one side of the house, perfect for dining, and a big front porch with a view that is never boring. The people in the neighborhood are friendly, love dogs, and our dogs had fun puzzling over the crabs on the back deck.
The owner has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It really is a home away from home. And it's close to everything!

This place is perfectly located with stunning views from every window in the house. The house has many porches (one screened) and a bay view from the front and a canal view (and dock) in the back. The kitchen is the perfect size and very well stocked for our family of 4. The house is extremely clean-it is much much nicer than the VRBO pictures.
Cedar Key is a wonderful place to take Air boat tours, Charter a fishing boat, rent a kayak, visit the museum or just enjoy a nature walk by day and Star Gazing by night.
