About Jennifer

Carolyn and I were highschool sweethearts. Southeastern Oklahoma residents virtually all of our lives. She a farmer's daughter and me a traveling salesman's son, no joke! We have two grown sons, an attorney in Denver and a Veterinarian in Oklahoma. Carolyn a teacher, and I a businessman, are ready to teach the grandkids how to fly fish, hike, and enjoy the mountains in an open-topped jeep.

Jennifer purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Jennifer chose South Central Colorado

As mountain lovers, we finally found the cabin of our dreams, and not far from our granddaughters in Denver. We are servants at heart and want to make everything just right for your stay in our cabin. We know you will love it, as we do.

What makes this cabin unique

A cozy master bedroom with fire place, bunk room or loft for the kids, and a great room with so much glass the mountain comes into the cabin, made this a special find for us. We love the decks over looking our own piece of Elk Creek. Folks around, but not too close. Close to Denver, but you feel like your in the heart of the Rockies. Perfect mountain get away!

Pleasantly surprised.

  • 5 of 5

We booked this property only a couple of weeks before we went there - mostly because everything else was already booked. We drove up and were delighted. Then when we walked in, we were amazed. The pictures did not show it justice. There is updated furniture, a cozy cabin atmosphere and the creek below which tops it off. We loved the area and it was a great location for us. We will definitely be back and hope to stay longer next time. This was a great find!

Spacious Cabin In The Woods

  • 5 of 5

This cabin has charm and warmth. Beautifully decorated. Sit out back or walk down to the creek. Enjoy the morning sun on the back deck and afternoon sun on the front. Don't forget to have a Buck Snort beer at the Famous Buck Snort, approximately, 100 feet away!

Pine shops offer hidden treasures.

Great Anniversary Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It is beautiful inside and the scenery is absolutely amazing. Loved hearing the sound of the creek at night and early mornings were great for seeing deer and bird watching.

We woke up to snow our last morning there and the view was even more fantastic.

Not worth the money

  • 1 of 5

The place is cute, but unclean. You are limited in your water use which was NOT told to us prior to checking in. Don't plan on flushing the toilet or taking a long shower. Plus limited supplies so bring your own TP, paper towels, and gallons of water to wash the dishes.

Didn't Want To Leave!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was a perfect get away for my husband and me. From the pictures and descriptions, we expected a great place, but this far exceeded our expectations. The décor is rustic, classic and comfortable (we felt right at home with many of the furnishings similar to our family pieces). The cabin is spacious for 2 and would be comfortable for a family. The location is great - not far from Denver, a beautiful drive to Colorado Springs, short drive to town for groceries and restaurants, not far from whitewater rafting, nearby places for hiking and biking, and the quaint little village of Pine close by. But by far, the best part was hearing the creek - we sat for hours by the water and on the decks and loved falling asleep to the pleasant sounds of the water going by. To top it off, Scott was helpful and interesting to talk to. Our only suggestion - provide some fans for the unusually hot weather this July. Our only complaint - we didn't have more time to enjoy the cabin. We really hope to schedule another stay at this beautiful cabin. Thank you!

Great location and setting

  • 4 of 5

This was a great location sitting on Elk Creek in the backyard. We enjoyed a relaxing weekend and there are many great drives in the area. We received what we expected for the value of our stay. We would return to this same house in the future (primarily due to the setting and Elk Creek). Scott the caretaker was super knowledgeable and offered may suggestions for local scenic drives.
